I could understand no show fees and late fees, but taking 50% of your earnings is absolutely, definitely stealing. That has to be illegal. And it's disgusting.

No no.. If we are late (even 1 minute), we have to pay $60 plus 50% of everything we make that day. If we call in sick or don't show up, we have to pay $160 plus 50%. It's confusing, I know. The managers straight up told us they will try to rob us so as long as we stay in line and do everything we are supposed to, we don't have to worry about it. It's just hard because when I come in and there are no customers for 2 hours and they charge me for being 10 minutes late, I feel cheated. I know I shouldn't fuck around and it's not like I just don't care, shit just happens. There's traffic, you're sick, something came up, whatever.. But they get you. Hard.![]()

The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

I work for a Deja Vu club and they only charge us $130 flat; everything we make in dances is our money. They try to charge us $130 if we don't make it for our schedule days but I just end up not paying it. I tell them, you know if you want to fire me because I didn't work a day then fine, go a head and cheat yourself out of thousands of dollars from me in the future. I've worked there for two years and never paid missed days.
HOLY CRAP! I've been dancing a long time and never heard of shit like this ... although I've never danced at DV. This sounds criminal.
Sweetie ... if you can find a regular job in your area IMHO that would be healthier for you (emotionally, mentally, spiritually) and at least you'd be getting paid than having to pay those f*cking douche bags.
Sorry this is happening to you. I wish you the best w/ what ever you decide to do.

legally they can't do that as you are an IC not an employee and they cannot "schedule" you. FUCK DV!!!! work somewhere else, they exploit dancers to make profit.

Ridiculous. I've never worked at one before, but now I know I never will!

Deja Vu makes all their dancers sign a long contract before they work there. Included in that contract is an explanation of all their wacky "rules". By signing that contract, the dancer agrees to pay the fees involved with coming in late, no shows, 50% cuts, etc. That's how they get away with it. They won't hire any dancers without them signing that contract, and by doing so the dancer is allowing them to impose fines. So I doubt if she sued them that anything would really come of it.. because technically it's not illegal if the dancer agrees to it by signing their name on the contract.
Just avoid DV like the plague!
So I was 3 minutes late and guuuuuuuess what? I had to pay my $60 fee plus 50% of all my earnings. Fucking great. So I decided that if this will ever happen to me again, I will stop working after I pay my $60 fee. I mean, why should I keep making them more money when they are raping my pocket?? One of the floor host people told me I would get in trouble if I just sat around, but I don't care. For being 3 minutes late when there are not even any customers in the house and they pull this crap- not complying. It's one thing if they charged me a flat fee, but no, the percentage thing is what kills me. So I'm over it. I can't go anywhere else. There is nowhere around here. It's a good job other than this bs. :/
No pressure, no diamonds.
I would start getting there 30 minutes early. They WANT you to be late.

mine is 200 no show fee..I'd never do a no show but damn that's steep. house is 50, we tip four bounces and yeah we are jibed to tip generously. sometimes i feel like the whore who is supporting the roaches
Yeah I can't sue either, I did sign a contract in the beginning stating that I agreed to these outrageous fees.
No pressure, no diamonds.

Just because something is in a contract doesn't always mean it's legally binding or enforceable by the club. The same way you can't have a contract to commit murder, they can't enforce a contract that unjustly enriches one party (the club). They can't enforce a contract that breaks labor laws like punitive fees on employees or independent contractors. Plenty of girls have sued and won when the clubs have abused their relationship.

I just started at a nicer club. I was previously working at rural WV clubs, and while there was money there 2 years ago, it doesn't seem to be as active now.
The fees are high, and the fines are RIDICULOUS! I understand fines, but there are girls that owe the house $600 in fines!
$200 fine for now show, or for leaving early
$50 fine for being late to the stage on your rotation
$50 on weekday shift club fee
$75 on weekend shift club fee
However, private dances ($20) we keep all of it. VIP is 50/50. We get $100, the house gets $100.
They also fine for stupid behavior on the floor. If your doing anything that's considered not classy you get a fine. I found out that if you drink something that is bottled (beer, ice coolers) you must put it in a glass. A girl drinking from a bottle isn't classy. I got pulled aside by the owner. He was very nice about it, and didn't fine me, but informed they would if it happened again.
I'm not who I say I am.
OMG these people sound like pimps but you also should take into account how much you would make during a shift if its a significant number every night then it could be worth it and you may be able to bamboozle your way out of paying those high fees by telling them you made less than you actually did.

Google "deja vu class action lawsuits" and you'll see what I'm talking about. The managers straight up told us they will try to rob us so as long as we stay in line and do everything we are supposed to, we don't have to worry about it.
This sounds no less than intimidation and could even be considered a form of racketeering.
I cannot believe they take 50% of what you make just for being late. Isn't that EXTORTION.

SunnyB yes you can go to court over this.

This shit absolutely makes me livid. It's blatant exploitation.

The first club I ever worked in was just as bad, but I didin't know any better. We were fined $250 for a no show, $1 a minute for being late and get this! $250 and sent home for the day if we complained about anything. Right! If we said, "it's sucks in here tonight" it was "Go home and come back tomorrow with a $250 fine" They were strict about this and also we were not allowed to work in any other clubs, and they would only hire girls who had never danced anywhere before. They wanted us green and trainable. Anyone who had ever danced before would not have put up with this! The flip side was that they trained us hard and we mad a LOT of friggin money. Still, the fines were really heavy.
Stripper after hours... NinaNin.com
yep it's true about the fee. i just got hired there this past friday in Toledo. I have a ? for who works at one though. If you do please reply back or PM me on here.
I'm the stripper you can be in love with

This is why I will never again work at a club with ridiculous fines. Isn't it technically illegal to put an independent contractor on a schedule and fine her for not keeping to it? If I wanted someone else to tell me when to work, then I'd get a desk job. PS- I left my last club because of some retarded 'tattoo fine' that stated entertainers who got any more tattoos after being hired had to pay a 500 dollar fine. Fuck you, it's my body. And I market the alt pin up girl. And there's a million clubs in this area. And beyond that, there's the internet, phone sex, private parties, modeling and Domme work. So fuck your fine.
Hehe... rant.
On my way to being the Bitch Goddess of your dreams... or nightmares.

I soooo hear you!!! I feel the same way!nGood for you, girl! I'm happy to hear that you stand your ground! That's all total bullshit that these "club fines"' are what they are...
What's the point of becoming an "independent contractor" if you're signing a contract to work for them?
Independent contractor: one that contracts to do work or perform a service for another and that retains total and free control over the means or methods used in doing the work or performing the service....
You're paying them to "work" there, then you should be able to do whatever the fuck you want (within reason, of course)
If you sign a contract, then aren't you considered an "employee"?
If you're following their rules...then that sounds like a description of an employee to me??!!
