    Default working while pregnant

soooo most of u guys know a little about me, from when i first started. ive been dancing for some months now, and love it. but i recently found out i was pregnant. now im 10 weeks.. and completely happy with it, but ive decided to keep working until im showing or its a little obvious. right now you cant tell much at all except my boobs are HUGE (from a b to a large c now) and my ass has gotten much bigger. my tummy hasnt changed much so i think i have at least another month or so to go before its visible. BUT, ive noticed that its much harder for me to keep going as long as i have, and im sick more often at work (i dont have morning sickness i have night sickness) so its harder to be there.. but i need to to save up a few more thousand before im not pulling any money in. what did you guys do durin ur first trimester to keep the money coming in? theres no way id be able to do it if i had a regular job, thats why im pushing myself to dance for atleast another month. did u guys work up until u showed??
what things did u eat to prevent getting as sick?
anything in particular help make things more comfy?

I can't be of much help but I see no prob working while pregnant. The first trimester is usually the most tiring and when you will feel the most nauseous. If you make it past the first trimester dancing, you may feel like you can keep dancing for a month or two. A lot of women feel more energized after the first trimester and nausea goes away. Of course you could be one of those unlucky women who feel the symptoms throughout pregnancy. There are also outfits to minimize your growing belly if you push the envelope and dance until you are 4 or 5 months. I stopped dancing at 7 weeks because I just felt weird and way too tired. I did find that I felt less nauseous at work than when I sat at home, maybe because I was more distracted.

Keep some ginger snaps and gingerale around. Other than that though there's not much advice I can give you. I was sick ALL the time. It was awful.

I stopped at 14.5 weeks. I thought my bump was super obvious, but looking back at pictures, I could have kept going until 17 or 18 weeks.

I have to agree with the posters above - the first trimester is really rough. It was hard to go to work when I felt like I'd been run over and hadn't slept in weeks. Not to mention having to get up to pee all the time. I can't help with the exhaustion, but for nausea - eat small meals throughout the day (don't let your stomach get empty). Try sucking on hard candy (esp. lemon flavored ones). You can always ask your dr. for a diclectin prescription which should help as well. As far as comfort goes I just wore tank tops and regular thongs (cheap-looking, yes, but got the job done).

I hope you achieve your goal and enjoy your little baby!

Saltines and bananas will help. Eat little meals throughout the day. Jay is right about the ginger, it's a natural anti-nausea. Peppermint also helps.

Good news is, in the 2nd trimester, you're going to feel much, much better.

^^ Peppermint was a life saver for me. i lived off of gingerale and peppermint candies... I had the worst morning sickness. And could only make it in 2 nights out of my 5. And was so exhausted I'd catch a z between sets on slow nights. I'm just now starting to show a tiny bit so i'm gong to keep going. BUT I definitely reccomend the small meals out the day and do NOT let your stomach get empty or you will be miserable.

Wow, you obviously have a bone to pick with this woman. She came on here for advice, not a public scolding. What crawled up your ass and died?

^^^ this is actually a 'fast forward' from a previous thread posted in the Dollar Den ... i.e. certain dancers choosing not to report their dancing incomes to federal / state tax authorities in order to show an 'official' income level that is low enough to allow them to qualify for medicaid, WIC and other social welfare benefit payments. While I'll abstain from making any judgemental comments, I will say that a real judge in a real courtroom would consider this to be 'welfare fraud'.
