    Default impossible stubble

Ok bikini waxing HURTS so I went back to using the Venus shaver, but I'm still left with irritated stubble. And red bumps.

is there any solution to this? ...other than waxing or electrolysis

Waxing hurts less the more you do it, trust me. I'm guessing epilating is a bad suggestion to make.

Try nair? Exfoliating helps me keep an eye on the stubble rash.

    laaaaaser!
    usually $100-$150/treatment, 4-8 treatments.
I haven't done it yet but its HIGH on my list of things to spend money on.

Ahhh the appeal of never having to shave again.... *drools*

I have impossible stubble and red bumps as hair grows back. I've tried everything, Tend Skin, waxing, etc. The only thing that guarantees to work is laser hair removal.

In the meantime, exfoliate before you shave, use a fresh razer each time, use tendskin for a few days afterwards.

Waxing is still better though. The pain gets more manageable. DO NOT wax on your period or right before it. The pain is significantly worse, I promise. If you wax, as the hair grows back, keep an eye for ingrowns..two hairs coming through the same follicle. Pluck them! Use Tend Skin after to clean it up.

I had laser. Waxing caused awful ingrown hairs on me.

Tea tree oil is very good for that though. Get a moisturiser with tea tree in it. Smells beautiful too.

The day AFTER waxing or shaving get one of those loofahs and put some body wash on it and rub in an upwards motion (against the direction of hair growth). Do this each day and apply the tea tree moisturiser afterwards.

ohhh that exfoliating hurts..you know the other bummer is when you get a spray tan and the color settles into the space around ingrown hairs...hahahahaa good place the club is dimly lit

If you have very sensitive skin, it could be a small infection in each one of the hair follicles after shaving. Try using Neosporen the the like on the area right after you shower. I found this helps me out the most.

Some women swear by antiperspirant, but that's never worked for me. Try doing a search, there's a couple really good threads about this already I believe. Good luck!

As soon as I finish shaving I rub a thick layer of Palmer's Cocoa butter cream into the skin to stop the red bumps. Works for me.

I use a Braun "Silk Epil" electric clipper/shaver/epilater combo (I almost never use the epilator. Owww!)
I use the clippers first if I have let my hairs get too long. Then I use the shaver. It's not as close of a shave as a razor, but there is no irritation, no broken skin, no ingrown hairs. Not ideal if you are after a perfectly smooth-to-the-touch feel, but perfectly adequate for just looking groomed.

This is my eternal issue, and one that has caused me to not really go to the beach anymore, despite the fact I live right near it.

The hair on my head is fine and soft. So WHY THEN is the hair everywhere else so DAMN COARSE!?

I shave or use depilatory cream. I have tried waxing, and yes, it does hurt but not THAT much because it doesn't actually WORK that well on me, annoyingly. When I or the waxer person rips the stuff off, most of the hair doesn't come out. It just breaks off or stays stubbornly put. *groan* The issue with shaving AND depilatory cream is that when the hair starts to grow back in 1-2 days, it is SO uncomfortable. Red bumps, sore...and the worst thing for any sort of performer is that I can't really re-shave or re-cream that early, as it'd just irritate it majorly and not do much to remove the stubble.

I once tried to use my Braun Silk Epil on that area, and on my GOD. It BOUNCED off my skin and caused much bleeding. Even on my under arms it does this.

Anyway. I LONG for laser!!! I'd even do electrolysis if it wasn't too expensive and didn't take years to get each and every hair separately.

If I make any decent money doing webcam once I start, I'll look into laser. I did once have a free trial session of IPL (intense pulse light therapy), on my under arms, but it didn't do anything.

Meh. Body hair is the bane of my existence.

I do this too, works well for me, however, i only have to work two nights a week, so ill shave right before my first shift, and its still ok by the second shift so i dont do it again till the week after (Im single so other than custys, no1 see's it anyway!! But palmers cocoa butter is amazing, seems to soften the skin so it doesnt go so raised/rashy.

    Exclamation Re: impossible stubble

heres my option- trust me i been shaving since i was 12(atleast it works for me) 1- never shave dry always shave while in the shower or just getting out of the shower 2-always shave with baby oil works so much better the shaving cream, soap, conditioner etc.. if you can find baby oil with aloe or Vit E even better. For an awesome fresh feeling rinse with a minty bodywash(irish spring has a nice one) or conditioner
3- dont shave more than once very 2 days !
( granted if you havent shaved in awhile or just started shaving it will take a lil bit for your skin to get used to it !! To avoid ingrown hairs shave with the direction of the hair, not a super close shave but will avoid thos annoying things)
Always finish off with a thick lotion- or even better an aftershave (i know i used to use a female aftershave but i havent seen it on the market lately)

    hope this helps
ps NEVER shave before self/spray tanning the dye will get stuck in your pores shave the day after

I shave every day (im a lil OCD thoughts running through my head is just smooth smooth smooth i have to be smooth!) but exfoliating helps and i noticed that soaking in a hot bath then shaving in the bath helps my skin but i also rinse of in clean water after. conditioner or baby/olive oil helps when i apply it to shave havent tried any post shave topicals yet though.
