If you are paying taxes then when/how you deposit the money doesn't really matter, as long as you aren't putting in mass amounts more than what you claim.

If you are going to be doing large cash deposits I'd recommend not doing them at the same branch, have two or three in your area that you go to. Bank employees can flag you for suspicious activity if they see the same person coming in often and always making large cash deposits, you could become even more suspicious if they ask you what do you do for a living and you don't tell them. If they do ask you just tell them you are a waitress, it will seem believable. Even better, get a safe deposit box and stash your cash there, no one will ever know what you are keeping in there and it will still be in a safe place. Hope that helped

^^^ Just pay them. Not doing it will make you more miserable in the long run.

^^Agree. You will be safer (the IRS is one scary mofo) and you will have more opportunities for buying a house and other investments. Just do it!

if you deposit more than $10,000 in a single transaction ( which can be as low as $3,000 in some states ), the bank is required by law to report the transaction to the IRS.

If you deposit any lesser amount of cash, bank employees have the option of filing a 'Suspicious Activity Report' to the IRS. While the exact requirements for bank tellers filing such reports aren't well documented, it is a certainty that a high 'frequency' of smaller transactions raises the probability that a 'Suspicious Activity Report' will be filed. As pointed out by others, one way to reduce the perceived 'frequency' without reducing the actual number of deposits is to rotate your deposits via different branches of the same bank. But in any case, the bank's computers are going to capture all of the small transactions even if an individual teller in a particular bank branch does not.

Agreed that because of another type of automatic reporting, i.e. automatic reports to the IRS whenever a property deed is filed, a motor vehicle title is registered etc., that in the future it is going to be virtually impossible to purchase anything that must be registered without having a trail of tax records explaining where and how the money was earned to be able to afford making such a purchase ( and the loan / mortgage payments that go along with it). In some states, the state income tax people are already teaming up with state motor vehicle dept's and property deed registrars to identify 'high yield' audit candidates. I know of a couple of NY dancers who were recently raked over the coals because they purchased nice new cars ... but didn't have sufficient reported income levels on state tax returns to explain how that purchase could be possible while still paying local rents / costs of living.

I always go to the same bank. The tellers know that I am a stripper. I like them knowing because then they know that my transactions are not suspicious. I have never had a problem with how they treat me. They love my business. I even get Christmas card from them. I go to the bank like 4-5 days a week. I see them more than I do some of my friends. Relationships are key. It has been key for me to have friends at my bank.

Just pay your estimates taxes and be glad you're making a contribution to your country. I'm sure you can get someone at work to vouch that you work there. Oh, and dump your stash if ya' got it.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

i definitely got flagged. they asked me all kinds of questions they've never asked before. shit shit shit.

whatever. if the irs comes after me, i am taking the club down with me.
well, having a suspicious activity report filed about you isn't the end of the world. I'm totally guessing here, but I'd say that this will only prompt a fully computerized IRS automatic records check ( since the IRS doesn't yet know if you represent any opportunity for additional tax revenues ). Again I'm guessing, but this will probably involve IRS computers pulling up your tax returns from previous years, pulling up a credit report etc.

Just kidding about the stash. I'm sure they won't think you are a drug dealer and get a search warrant. Because it just won't go that far.

When I was dancing, I made a deposit, usually in my bank's nearest ATM, every night I worked. It's a business, and the money needs to work as hard as I do. I usually go to my bank's online banking site daily to move money around or just to monitor what's happening. I rarely use tellers. One important issue for traveling dancers, make sure your business bank has ATMs where you can deposit in places where you dance.

Any suggestions about the denominations that would be deposited daily?

^^^ with ATM deposits, bill denominations don't really matter. But with human tellers, anything larger than a 20 will automatically draw extra attention. For that matter, so will a 'mountain' of singles.
