    Default growing out bangs...

hey girls, i just decided yesterday that i'm going to grow my bangs out, because they're too much work and i'm the type of girl who just rolls out of bed in the morning, throws on some powder and lip gloss and leaves the house.

so, i'm looking for any ideas of how to style my hair while i'm waiting for them to grow out. right now if i brush them back i look like i have a mullet, so no good. plus i'm looking for a day job today and i dont wanna look like i have no idea how to take care of myself, but my bangs almost completely cover my eyes now, so i cant possibly wear them down.

    help!? thanks!!

i've had every possible style of bangs possible. have you tried parting your hair to the side and blow drying the bangs to the side? you could also go in for a trim and have them blended to the side and thinned out...but i don't know how thick your bangs are or what kind of haircut you have.

Headbands and scarfs are life savers for that awkward in-between period of growing out bangs.

Can you pull them into a twist or braid and then side-clip? If you're decent with a blow dryer you can sort of blow dry them so that they sorta fall into the rest of your hair. Although that really depends on the kinda bangs I guess.

i will def have to try a headband! right now i'm doing that thing where you take the front section of hair on top, tease it and pull it back and use bobby pins and a bottle of hairspray to make it stay. it looks OK, but not great. they're really thick bangs and they're really blunt so i may have to run to the salon and have them thinned out a bit and the other pieces around my face brought up a bit too to help them blend in. i really didnt want to have to go in though till next week when i get my hair lightened up to a whiter blonde.

sounds like hair i used to have! yeah blunt bangs are a bitch when you're growing them out...if you see the same hairdresser regularly you should just be able to go in for a quick trim of the bangs to blend and thin them out if you're trying to grow them out and dont want to wait until you color it. but if you're going in next week for color, then i would just wait. i know what poof you're talking about but i think its really stylish if you blowdry it back and tease it and hair spray the hell out of it...instead of the bobby pinned poof to make it look more like this but put it in a ponytail...i think its more stylish.

that is really cute. i'm just not that adventurous i guess, cuz i did that earlier when i was blow drying my hair and i thought it made me look like an alien!

my hair dresser's gonna be so mad at me when i tell her i'm growing them out! i know they were super cute and all, but its just too much work!

this is exactly what my hair looked like a few weeks ago:

and i loved it, but i think now that summers coming, i'm gonna grow my hair out and do the beachy waves thing that my hair does sooooo well naturally.

^thats super cute. i've finally grown my bangs out and really want to cut bangs again but i'm holding strong and not doing it because i want the front to be all one length with an a-line haircut. with a new cut your bangs should be grown out within a couple of weeks and you can still have that sort of shaggy look. i think it'll be really cute with beachy wave look. i have hair add so it's hard for me to not change my hair a lot, now i'm just experimenting with different blondes instead of cutting it in different styles.

me too! i went by scarlett this time last year cuz my hair was fire engine red, then i dyed it black, let it grow back out brown and now i'm not happy with the strawberry blonde i got, so i'm going full-out platinum! lol i think the blonder it is, the cooler it looks in the black light, i've actually had UV-reactive hair before. you might like it if you're crazy, it's called manic panic its at sally beauty and there's a red one that actually GLOWS under a black light. i actually made a lot off that stuff cuz it made me so unique, especially with the innocent girl-next-door look i have going on.

how does it make your hair look if you have blonde hair under normal light? that sounds awesome, i have the girl next door look too. i used to have platinum blonde hair and dyed it to the point where it was almost white. see attached picture (keep in mind this was like five years ago) lol. the second one is actually my natural color but with blunt bangs.

the manic panic i had was red color for your hair, it's supposed to be used over blonde hair and it's semi permanent so it washes out after about a month. i had red hair when i used it, so it was just a cool effect under the black light and looked like a super bright red in normal light. i know they have other colors, i think there's a black and others, but idk if they have one that looks blonde in daylight and blue at work. now i wanna go find out!!

your hair color is almost exactly like mine...that looks cute...and there's definitely a lot of new cute headbands now. you don't have too much time until you get your hair looking how you want. though i'm impatient so i know how you feel when it comes to wanting your hair to look good and not put work into it.

when I was sick of my bangs I'd pin em back into a poof too... just don't do it flat.. it looks weird when you pin it back flat.

blow dry your bangs and do a "swoop" side bang. I think this look looks great on just about anyone.

    thanks!
i tried doing that swoopy bang thing this morning but i figured out you need a curling iron to do it right, and i actually dont even own one. as for the poof, it's pretty much impossible for my hair to be flat, there's so much of it! luckily my hair grows pretty darn fast, so it should only be a few more days or so till i can just blend them in with a side part.

you dont need a curling iron! you could easily do it with a flat iron(I use my chi to both straighten and my curl my hair) or a round brush and blowdryer. you tube is your friend!

alot of times, I would just blowdry my bangs on low and brush it(with a regular brush) to the side until it dried and spray a little tiny bit of hairspary to make it stay.
