    Dizzy Bruising/cuts/aching :(

So I just starting dancing 2 weeks ago. I've really begun to like it. The club is nice, the security is really good, the girls are cool for the most part, money is decent.. But I guess I didn't realize how physically demanding it is. Like obviously it's DANCING, but a couple days ago during my last shift, I had to sit out for a while and ice my knees because they were so bruised and a little swollen. I've been getting bruises everywhere, random cuts I didn't even know existed, and my feet are freakin killing! Not to mention I'm tired as hell when I come home from 7 hours of being on my feet and shaking my ass. I know it's all something my body will get used to. I work out a lot during my free time, I do gymnastics, I go to the gym, I always go out dancing at nightclubs, etc.. But for some reason this is taking a huge toll on me. So I just had a couple questions..

    1) My club encourages a lot of floor work on the stage because they think girls doing stuff on the pole makes them look insecure or something. Weirdos. So do you have any moves on the floor that are easy on the knees/elbows/back? (I think this is where my random nicks and cuts come from, not sure) I watch a lot of the girls at my work and they have messed up knees because they don't care and they are "used to it".

    2) What can I do during lapdances that won't take away too much energy? I had my first half-hour sale the other day and just about died at the end. We have to have 1 foot on the floor at all times so I can't just like sit in the guys lap or something. I do a lot of easy grinding but that tuckers me out. I'm not a machine! Lol.

    3) How do you preserve your body so you can work multiple days a week? Other than the rest/multivitamins/quit your job answer. I worked 2 days in a row and I couldn't do it anymore. Not necessarily because I was tired, but because my body was aching. I was bruised and cut up and my joints hurt. I'm afraid someone might think I have an abusive boyfriend or something. No but really I just want to be able to last and take care of myself so I can maybe work up to 4 days a week. Or live past my 20's. Haha..

What are your tips and tricks?

1.I wear boots instead of heels. If you wear boots over the knee, you can wear knee pads underneath them. If boots are not an option, at least thigh high stockings will add a thin layer of protection.

    2.get massages.

when I first started I ached too and now I'm at the point if I don't dance a few times a week , then one night will leave me sore

You do get used to it.

I second the boots..also the furry go go boot covers..I wear these with a lot of my outfits.

You might see if your club will allow you to use a flat pillow while on the floor. Yeah I have multiple bruising on my butt.

Take care of yourself when not dancing..stretch, get enough sleep, drink LOTS of water.

I have no idea how dancers do this five times a week.

Take a pain killer like Tylenol before going into work. When you get home take another pain killer & arnica pills, relax in an Epsom salt bath, then use an arnica gel on bruises.

I refuse to do a lot of floor work, so I would probably hate you club. I used to have so much pain when I was younger from doing too much floor work, now I rarely do any.

One thing you might want to ask about is using a blanket on stage. It will allow you to slide around easier, cushion you a bit, and if you are getting cuts from the stage it will protect you from that as well.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I've been going through the same problem with my shoes. I made the most money when I wore nice quality shoes that can not be found at stripper stores. Plus guys with money notice nice shoes and you will get complements because most girls wear those nasty cheap stripper shoes. You can find really sexy good quality shoes at Ross. That is where a lot of girls are buying their shoes now because stripper shoes are poor quality and overpriced. I had some nice shoes that I bought at DSW for a few years ago and I made good money in those shoes because I was able to work more often. They were more expensive than shoes at Ross though.

You can try wearing foot supports that will help your feet so you can make it into work more. I'm in the process of trying to wear in some new shoes that I got at ross and I am thinking about getting the pedaq foot supports.

Arnica and Triflora gel are both good to put on your knees and feet before work. Triflora smells though. Pottasium and magnesium supplements are good for your muscles.

Yoga toes is great for after work. http://www.yogapro.com/

Be careful about your stretching. Relax Into Stretch is a great book that will help you avoid injury.

I don't crawl on stage but I have heard other girls say to put your weight on your hands not on your knees.

Keep in mind that you can do a lot of posing and wandering around the pole instead of floor work too. I almost make a game of it sometimes ( on how little physical energy I can expend in a shift ) . It would be tricky though with your one foot rule ( I don't even dance half the time .... half my dances are cuddles / neck massage for the guy which means I don't have to move ) . I do these stupid little tricks because I get really really tired in the winter time and I'm starting to come out of it and still use the tricks so that I can work multiple days in a row when I want to.
I take really really good care of myself too. I drink a lot of water as I drive to the club, I eat healthy food ( and I bring it to work ). I get massages every couple of weeks ( and I'm seriously considering weekly now that I dance every week ) . I'm trying to limit booze ( I usually don't drink at work but then I ruin it when I'm home with friends ) , so I get booze is my current thing that's screwing up my energy.

Oh ..... and work streching into your stage show too. There are sexy stretch moves that you can do over and over to keep your body streched out. I notice a HUGE difference in how I feel if I do this throughout the night or if I don't.
