    Default Beauty Tips

I thought I'd make a little thread for beauty tips, I always learn a good one every now and then. Give me some too!

1.) After you've shampooed your hair, make sure you ring out as much water as you can before you apply your conditioner. My hair girl told me this, she says that when you apply conditioner to soaking wet hair it can cause the conditioner to just slide over your hair, not helping it.

    2) Make sure you deep condition your hair at least once a week. I use stuff by Pantene, it comes in a wide jar. It works WONDERS for my hair. Also don't comb through your hair when it's wet, but if you must get a ConAir brand de-tangler brush, it glides right through without any breakage.

    3) For the best coverage and longest lasting mineral makeup EVER, use Revlon ColorStay Mineral Foundation. It comes in lots of different shades and it kicks Bare Escentuals/Bare Mineral's FOUNDATION'S ass. And it's like 1/3 of the price. It seriously lasts all day, up to 15 hours it claims, and it has SPF 15 in it too!

    4) For glowy/bronzed kissed cheeks use "Sunkissed" by Bare Escentuals, the best bronzer I have ever come across and you barely need to use any of it. Apply with a Kabuki brush for the best even application.

    5) When applying powder eyeshadow always hold a tissue with your other hand underneath the eye you're working on... eyeshadow debris/flakes always fall onto your cheeks and nose and it's a bitch to get off without smearing your face make up too.

All I can think of right now. ^_^

*Oh oh! Thought of another, I do this before every school year or even when I'm getting low on my products. So if you're planning on stocking up on makeup to use in the future try DRUGSTORE.COM- they often do promotions that offer free shipping and deals where you buy 1 Revlon, Covergirl, etc. product get 1 free of equal or lesser value or 50% off the next item. It comes out to huge savings and is super convenient, you just have to do a few clicks here and there.

    1) for hair growth mix about a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in warm 100% extra virgin olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, etc. masage the scalp and leave in for about thirty minutes, wash and condition hair as you normally would. Do this about twice a week, i got major growth from this nearly 3 inches in 2 months. It opens up sleepy hair follicles, promotes stimulation, and increases blood flow in the scalp
*Dont do this if you have sensitive scalp

    2) Its not really a beauty tip but i take maca an hebal supplement three times daily. It keeps me horny and always wanting my bf, as well as controlling pms symptoms dramatically, im also more clear-headed, focused and full of energy

(forgive me if all these tips have been discussed before, i dont post much here)

1.) Try to wash/condition hair in cool water, it is not as harsh as hot water and cool/cold water is supposed to make your cuticles close and thus make your hair smoother. I love HOT showers but I turn the water cold when it's time for it to touch my hair and I just stand so it's only hitting my hair. They also say after you've styled your hair, hit it all over with the blow dryer on the cool setting so it will do the same thing and better lock in the style.

My fav thing right now is using oils instead of face wash to wash your face. It doesn't strip away oils, so your body doesn't overproduce oil to keep your face moisturized. When your body produces excess oils, it causes acne.

I use about 1/2 tsp vitamin E oil (very good for skin) with a couple drops tea tree oil (helps prevent dry flaky skin). Rinse you face with warm water, apply oils, let it sit for a minute then rinse with warm water.

Coconut oil is AMAZING! I've started using it on my face, body and hair. It's really easy to rinse off unlike other oils, you won't have to shampoo your hair more than once to get it out. It's made my face and body unbelievably soft.

1.) Hair is most fragile when wet, blot with a towel do not rub. Don't sleep on it wet either(I break this all the time).

For a cheaper version of a salon treatment, rub the luscious oil of your choice into the ends of your hair, and then with oiled up hands, run a smaller amount through the rest. Leave in while you do something time consuming at home, like file taxes or play WoW or do that bit of housework you've been putting off for weeks like cleaning the oven.

Stock up on latex (or otherwise if you're allergic) gloves and vaseline. Still cleaning that oven? Vaseline up your hands and throw gloves on first. Pretty soft hands! Wooo!

GET YOUR SLEEP, DRINK YOUR WATER. Don't make me come over there with a bottle of water and a long boring book to read to you.
Get the fuck off my harbl, yo'.

I've heard applying vaseline to your eyelashes make em longer? anyone know if there is any truth to this?

I use tea tree oil on any blemishes I have on my face... and I change between olive oil and tree tea oil shampoo. My hair is the shiniest its ever been.
drink plenty of water! I know everyone knows this... but when you make a conscious effort to drink at least 8 cups of water a day you honestly see a change in your skin and overall well-being!

I totally agree. 'Specialists' always say that unless you're severely dehydrated drinking lots of water won't make a visible difference blah blah blah--I'm sorry but if I make it a point to drink a lot of water one day I notice a definite difference in my face the next day.

A lot of times I find that using a dry towel removes eye makeup quickly.

Me too! Major difference when I drink a lot of water for a few days, versus when I go on a week-long soda binge.

Hmmm..beauty tip...I suppose it would be matte or sometimes shimmery white eyeshadow. Placed in the right areas you can really highlight your face.

-A little bit above your top lip, in the middle (the cupids bow) will highlight your lips and make them look fuller.
-Brush a little across right underneath your eyebrows, and blend downward to your eyeshadow will really open up your eyes - as will putting a dab right in the inner corners of your eyes.
-After you apply blush, sweep a little white eyeshadow above where you applied your blush with the same brush. Helps the cheekbones standout! (great for a gal like me with a chubby face!).

if your ever bored or just have alot of free time on your hands TWEEZE. i tweeze my entire bikini area. ive been doing it for about 5 yrs. the hair now grows in so sparse. its like i have a permenant bikini wax plus its alot better for you than sitting and pigging out while watching your tv shows. just dont do it in the company of others, haha.

I started doing it maybe two years ago, I did a small patch to see how the hair would come back if yanked out from the roots(I've never been waxed there) and ever since then!

yeah its great. i also tweeze my legs but its very time consuming. i end up doing small patches. but ive noticed those patches in comparison to the rest of my legs have alot less regrowth. i love it.

now if only there was a tip on how to get more flexible. aside from the standard advice (stretch more..etc) i really would like to know if theres any supplements i can do to become more flexible.

Oo me too! I really want to get more flexible. I do think that glucosamine and chondroitin help but I' m not entirely sure.

My tip: Take time every day to relax with peace and quiet. I promise it will have an affect on your presence in a positive way.

This is definitely legit.. I remember tweezing a section of hair on my calf a couple years ago and the hair still doesn't really grow back there right. And I'm a hairy girl. LOL Maybe I'll try this when I have the patience for my bikini line.

When you get out of the shower, don't rub yourself dry. Instead pat. Then put tons of lotion on to lock in the moisture.
