    Default Tell me something wonderful

For a variety of reasons, I'm not going to go into the details, but I have had to deal with so much bullshit in the past week. It's absolutely absurd. I am so tired of all the people who take their bitterness, insecurities, and immaturity out on other people. I had been dealing pretty well with it until today when yet another (unrelated) piece of absolute bullshit happened and it just made me melt down for an hour or so. What helped me is that I realized that even though these things are essentially direct and indirect attacks at me and a couple of other people, they aren't really my problems. These things are only coming up because other people have their own problems and I actually don't need to deal with it. Their misery is not my problem. I definitely believe that, but I also feel the need to keep reiterating it because it's very hard to remember.

A really good thing about all of this, though, is that it really heavily reminds me not to be like those people and that's a really good thing for me, because of course there are aspects of me that are just like these things that other people do. Until today, I was actually kind of glad that these things were happening for exactly that reason.

Unfortunately, a lot of this stuff damages my faith in humanity. Can you tell me a story that will make me feel fuzzy and happy about people? For example, a girl on one of the forums here here told a story about her bouncer getting arrested for beating up a sleaze and saying he'd take one for the girls any day. Things like that make me feel better about the world.

I have two students that I teach right now that are going to a reading summer camp that I am helping host. The only reason they will go, they said, is because I am one of the teachers.

Another warm fuzzy: I lost my purse at the mall and someone actually turned them in to the lost/found at the mall rather than stealing my stuff.

One of the culinary schools in central NJ (Bridgewater, i think) made food for the foreign travelers that are currently stranded at Newark airport because of cancelled flights due to the volcanic ash cloud hampering travel in Europe. Good stuff too- Baked ziti, garlic bread, sandwiches, brownies.

distributed free, prior to...the airlines were sustaining them on bagged potato chips and the like.

That site is awesome, I'm really glad you posted it.

It always makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I am at a meter machine and someone who is getting into their car comes up and gives me their ticket with time left on it.

There are hot springs pretty much within driving distance from everywhere that are relaxing and restoring. Also ...... beaches .......mountain tops....... ect. It's not a story about people , but there is so much good stuff in our world !

After months of being at an all time low, I am feeling more and more like myself every single day. The sun is bright, the birds are chirping and Im finally seeing it all. It feels like Im waking up from a really bad dream. I am optomistic about my future and I am officially in control. It's really fantastic.

Chin up girlie, it will get better. Don't let people who don't matter intrude on your life and bring you down!

To Carmen: unfortunately I'm way too busy to go to any hot springs right now, but it's a good idea for when I'm done.

To JayATee: If you've been in a bad state for months, do you know about lightboxes? Because having been in a really bad state during the winter and having it get better in the spring is an indication (but not proof of) seasonal depression. Lightboxes are amazing. You can get a cheap ass one from amazon (it's a piece of crap programming-wise, but does it's job well): http://www.amazon.com/Zadro-Sunlight...887412&sr=8-10

If you get one of those- you have to use it from above you so it hits your lower retina, like the sun. I have mine rigged to the ceiling. It's kind of weird but really helpful.

Today is a day of very large, dark sunglasses. I really appreciate the gives me hope website. Thank you. Because I'm in such a raw state, it's making me kind of emotional.

Once in Atlanta a guy tried to rip me off $20. Even though it was only $20, the bouncer dragged him out, came back in with a smile and a twenty and said "Don't worry Catherine. I made sure he had more than $20 worth of dental work."

Last night I was having a rough night at work. I go to my text messages and there's one from my husband asking me what kind of cake I like. He is going to make our wedding cake himself.

My favourite manager got fired, and my new GM is letting my now former club go to hell. However, my favourite manager and I spoke on the phone today, he is starting a brand new club, and is giving me a month and a half of free house fees.

    ...Better?

My bad state has nothing to do with the weather or time of year unfortunately. I wish it was as easy as a lightbox! My mentioning the sun and birds was more metaphorical, as in, Im actually stopping to smell the roses, because a few months ago it never even would have occurred to me to notice them.

What?... Hey, not fair!... This is the first I hear of this... I wanted to marry you.
Where are you getting married? I'll show up at the critical moment and stop the wedding - like they do in the movies.

I thought it was worth mentioning, even if unrelated.

Also, I know that this is my post, but I just remembered that a couple of days ago, my partner and I were buying groceries and his food stamps card was almost out of money and got partially declined and the lady behind us in line asked if we needed help. We didn't, but I thought she was amazingly nice.

Haha, sorry Jack. He's smokin' hot, sharp as a whip, totally shocking, and allllll mine. I am so dedicated it's sick.

Blame JD. It's all her fault. <3

Another awesome wonderful thing: I will be married to the absolute love of my life in less than 18 hours. I'm always late for work, because I'd rather hang out with him than anyone else, and he drives me 40m round trip without fuss, even if I did scream at him in french for getting a speeding ticket. Also, I signed my new name for the first time tonight.

I just bought myself a brand new 2010 Mustang GT. I've never owned a brand new car before and I drove it off the lot with 35mi on it! I LOVE it!!! (And the petty side of me loves it even more because it's the car my ex husband always wanted)

    Yay for new beginnings!

My son at age 10 experienced his first break up today.
I did not want my son to have a "girlfriend " so young but ...well.

She had been with him since september..
His first love he described to me as "Mom ...we are in love, we are tight, tight like sardines" lol

He came home and said "Madison told me today that she wanted to break up, because I am not her type"

I felt my heart break, because I really thought he would be heart broken first love an all.

He then said" you know what mom, nobody needs to tell me I am awesome, I know I am..its really ok(he assured me as I must have looked sad).

He then said" Madison was a cool first girlfriend, I will always be her friend" he said with that innocence that keeps me going on days when I just think I cant.

I hope you can see how wonderful it was to witness a little boy who will grow into an emotionally stable and responsible man one day..wow.
