Here's a depressing story....my daughter is 2 1/2 and I am still 1 dress size larger than before, and my tummy never fully recovered-I now have a little pooch by my belly button.

It took me 5-6 months of diet, exercise, and breast feeding to get me down to close to my original size.

But I am not like everyone. A girl friend of mine only took 3 months to get down to her original size after her baby-and has maintained it since. Her baby is turning a year old today!

It just depends on how well you took care of your self while you were pregnant and how well youll take care of your self after!
You HAVE GOT TO EAT RIGHT!!! I cant stress that enough. I gained like 80+ pounds while I was pregnant, and I've lost about 60 of it..and my son is 7 months old on monday I do believe..
Ive come to terms with the fact that my body will never be as bangin' as it once was,but I know Ill be able to get it pretty close!
As far as how long before I go back to dancing? never. Im a stay at home mom and I planon keeping it that way untill hes in school.
Good luck with the baby! If you have any questions you can ask me!!

If you exercised and were eating right and were already in great shape you may have no problems. I know girls who were back after a month or two. My one friend had an emergency csection and her body bounced back after a month n a half. Just depends how confident your feeling. If your a bit weary of your yummy you can get waist cinchers or wear tube dresses to keep your tummy covered.

With proper diet and exercise after baby it may take no time. Everyone is different. Good luck and congrats!!! Im 10 weeks and counting to pop my baby out... I so can't wait lol

It's been 5 months after baby for me and I am still about 4kg (9 pounds) off from my "normal" weight - that's with working out like crazy etc. I did have a c-sec though so I'm sure that makes a difference ... my tummy still feels numb and is basically where I seem to be carrying most of the extra : (

I have 4 kids. I started dancing 8 years ago AFTER my first two kids were born. I had a flat tummy that was well defined after two kids, so it is possible. I didn't work out all back then and I still don't. I gained about 20 lbs with my first pregnancy, and 30lbs with the second. I was young and real skinny back then though! I started dancing when my second child was 7 months old.

Now, I had twins a year ago. I am skinnier now than I was before I got pregnant. I went back to work after 3 months after they were born. I had a c-section so I really didn't feel ready before that. If it had been a vaginal, I probably would have been ready in six weeks. I was about 6lbs over my pre pregancy weight when I went back after twins, and I DID NOT exercise at all. Now my abs are not anywhere near what they used to be. My tummy looked fine after a month or two with my first two kids, but now the skin is loose and its not completely flat anymore. Keep in mind I had twins (who were 6 lbs EACH!) so my belly got really stretched.

Your abs could look good, but theres a chance that your abs will look a bit loose and poochy even if you exercise and don't gain much weight. I know girls who look EXACTLY the same after a baby, and some that don't. Some look amazing, some look good but not the same, some look terrible, and very few look better after a baby. Some women gain little or the standard 20-30lbs and their abs get wrecked to some degree. Some gain 60lbs (I've seen this from 2 dancers!) and they were able to bounce back and look exacty the same. The two cases I have seen have completely flat, great looking stomachs. It took them longer, but they did it. If you take care of yourself, its less likely but not gauranteed. I wear dresses and keep them aroung the lower part of my stomach when I'm working. I'm sad that I don't feel comfy in a bikini anymore, and there are girls at work with worse abs than me, but I loved my old flat belly. I may need to get a mini tummy tuck to get it back in shape, but I just started exercising. Good luck!
