Default Varying degrees of unprofessional behavior...

Ok, I'm posting this here because I want both dancers' and customers' opinions.

Last night I was dancing for a guy who had bought dances from several different girls, one of which he spent about 150$ on, but was completely done with dancing with her. He called me over and asked for a dance... note, he asked me. Now, the girl he was dancing with before, in his words, 'wouldn't get off his nuts' and 'asked him to go home with her for money' and was 'not attractive' but he came to spend money, and spend he did.

So he asks me to dance for him, and I did... and about halfway through the song, ole girl comes up and hits him in the back of the head and storms off. Actually HITS him in the back of the head. Song goes off, his friend, he and I, and another dancer complain to management. Management tells him it's taken care of. Needless to say, bitch still works there. No fine, no suspension, no negative reinforcement of any kind.

Anyway, I lost out on money because of her shenanigans, the customer is furious, and it all around fucks with everyone's vibe. Am I over-reacting or is this just a teeny weeny bit inappropriate? I mean, in any other job field, said person would be fired or at least suspended.

I'm sorry, I took a lot of customer service and sales classes and I have enough brain cells in my head to know that the patron is there to have fun and enjoy himself and not be assaulted by some fat, desperate cow, pressured for sex, and generally made to feel uncomfortable. Yes it sucks when someone you've danced for buys dances from someone else, but suck it up... it happens to everyone and strip clubs patrons have free will to choose the dancer(s) they want to spend time with.

This makes me want to change clubs... AGAIN. Most of the girls there are extremely jealous and insecure, and this happens to somebody on a nightly basis and no one does anything to correct the problem. I just want to call up the management at my old club and be like "What would you do if I hit a customer? Oh you'd throw me out on my ass? Ok good, I'm coming back."

On the bright side, this guy is coming back tonight to see me, so yay! I win in the end lolzzzz.

I don't get why being in a strip club makes it okay for people to assault each other, sexually or otherwise, and not get in trouble for it. If that happened at a regular bar the bitch would get tossed to the curb and not invited back. And if she was a bartender or waitress, I'm sure she'd get fired.

Exactly! I'm going to talk to management today... that is unacceptable in any environment... especially after somebody hands over 150 bucks to you. Don't you think she'd WANT to keep him as a customer???

I guess I'm not insecure enough to care who my customer dances with... Maybe I should be more desperate and insecure and I'd make more money.

Several times I've had issues with overly possessive dancers that gave me shit in front of other dancers to piss me off so I'd leave the club and thereby deny the other dancer(s) any of my cash. It's a pretty sad tactic, and I recognized it as such. I never let it upset me or change my dance card for the evening, and I'll bet most other customers feel the same way- so that's a good thing .

In my case all but one instance involved alot of yelling on the part of the "spurned" dancer and no physical violence. Only once did I have a hot-tempered dancer actually chase me around a club threatening me one of her scary 8" stilettos. Looking back on it now, it seems so ridiculous....but at the time I was running for my life!

I'm there with you on the customer service. However if this customer immediately starts ragging about a dancer there is probably more to the story.

Maybe they are ex's or something. Still no excuse for her to physically interfere with a customer ESPECIALLY when another dancer is dancing for him.

Guys don't really talk or act like that unless they are trying to antagonize someone.

    Whatever he did worked.

I have to agree here. It could be anything including something he said to her during or after their dances but there is probably more to this than he let on...or he's too dense to even understand what he may have done to tick her off...

In any event, hitting anyone, customer, staff or another dancer is inexcusable. It demonstrates, at the very least, a lack of self control and judgment. In my book it calls for at least some sort of suspension. Maybe she told her side of the story to management and they decided that the customer did something to instigate the act. I still think it's wrong and there should be some sort of punishment.

Id say this is more than just a 'teeny weeny' inappropriate.

i have been guilty of lots of unprofessional behavior. i have kicked more than one deserving customer and i have chewed out may more. I have done all sorts of belligerent shit at work that would not fly in any job where i was an employee, which i am not at the strip club.

That being said, i make sure my unprofessionalism doesnt fuck over the other girls. It is directed at the customers mostly. and if it is in a club where management pisses me off, then it is directed at the management.

we are self employed and this is stripping, not a regular employee customer service job. Which is why i dont feel the need to be 'professional' a lot of the time. especially in clubs where management forgets that i am an independent contractor instead of a club employee. But being unprofessional in a manner that steps on other girls' toes is not cool.... its stepping on other girls' toes. i feel like professionalism isnt the issue here as much as bad dancer etiquette. bitch needs to learn how to behave!
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

As far as ex's go... he'd never met her before in his life, so he says. And this girl seems like a pretty dirty dancer so I don't doubt that she offered to sleep with him for cash. I mean, still she hit him, he complains to management, and she gets off scot free. I know we're independent contractors, but are you going to let an independent contractor use your space if they abuse it?

I think he was trying to antagonize her because he really was genuinely tired of this chick acting possessive. Like, he got rid of her drink so someone else could come sit over there.

I've done unprofessional stuff too, but that was more when I first started dancing, and I've been seriously working on corralling my attitude since then. Yes, if you are the 100th person that solicits me, I will probably say something snarky to make you sound like a desperate idiot. But I've never hit a customer for any reason.

I agree with Yoda, I mean... the way things are these days you WANT to keep the customers that spend money! And clubs are crowded with girls. So I'm not sure why they ruled in her favor. I almost want to jet from this club but lately I've been meeting a lot of potential regulars there and don't want to start over. Oh, also I'll add that several girls like to flash their vajayjays during 10$ table dances and on stage for a dollar. Caught one girl doing it the other night. She didn't think anyone could see, but there are mirrors ALL over the club.

Not to mention there are about 30 girls in a club that should only hold about 12-15 and most of them are cutthroat as hell, and do VIP quality contact dances for 10 bucks on the floor. So yeah... weighing my options.

eh. i've worked with girls like that. i doubt there's more to the story. she probably just tips management well and is allowed to do what she wants because of it.

most managers are idiots. all they care about is making their money right then. they don't think about the long term.

Then you'd have two immature people committing an assault/battery.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

Yeah, I kind of got shoved once by a dancer for talking to her boyfriend. I didn't know. Two guys came in, invited me and another dancer to their table. We were all talking and drinking, it was early. Then another girl came and joined us. Me and her boyfriend were talking about music because there was a famous band in the club at that moment. It was totally platonic, we were not touching one another or being flirty. Girl 3 gets up to leave our table and shoves me as she passes by. I was like, WTF? Then he told me they were dating.

Well fuck, how was I supposed to know? They barely acknowledged each other when she came to the table.

Oh well, when you have an alcohol and drug fueled environment full of people with mental issues who couldn't hold down a day job anywere else.....these types of things will happen.

Possibly. However, IME, each club has at least one psycho dancer who pushes herself upon the customers and claims them, even if they aren't spending, and goes nuts when someone else talks to them.

Not every custy knows how to deal with these nutters, so they might antagonize them back thinking its in good humor...or just really, not having the capability to deal with a personality that doesn't conform to any social norms..so they bicker and antagonize.

Reading this, I am re-living several other experiences with crazy dancers acting completely unprofessionally, none of it being the fault of the custy...aside from the custy allowing her to sit with them/get dances from her, etc....

Ugh yeah I also had the dancer's boyfriend thing happen to me once. (different scenario) It was actually her ex-boyfriend and she yelled at me for taking him to VIP... needless to say I lost out on 40 bucks or more. The next day she tries to tell me that she did it for my own good and that management told him he couldn't get any dances, and she saved me from getting in trouble. When I asked management they just laughhhhed and laughhhhed.

If you have a problem with your boyfriend getting dances or attention from other girls, don't bring him to the club. Hell I'd probably buy mine dances if he came to the club. And if you can't stand some random stranger getting dances with other girls, you need to choose a new profession.

No shit, exactly. My boyfriends have not been that interested in going to the SC, so it was never even something I had to deal with. But if you let your man into the club, and no one knows who he is..he's gonna get approached and spoken to as a potential customer. That's the game, baby!

So Harleigh...you didn't get paid for the dances to this guy? Or she yelled at you before you hada chance to start dancing for him in the VIP?

Bitches be hatin. Keeping head down and a low profile helps out immensely, but they will always find some way to bring everyone they can into their drama.

This just further strengthens my belief that the least important thing going on in the club is fairness and a good environment for the workers. You must show the management that her behavior is reducing everyone's business, and thus the club, not just yours. Beyond that undue favoritism just underscores the corrupt nature of such a club.

(probably a blow-job after the other dancers are gone for the night; a little informal espionage may clear that up; but that info may not change anything)
