Default Floor Work... Not so important is it?

I've been trying to practice some floor moves after my workouts at night and my movements feel kind of awkward and not as graceful as I'd like. So at first I was thinking shit I need to get better at this... but floor work isn't something you have to be good at before you start is it? I'm now thinking I should be more focused on sensual movement on my feet.

My stage show doesn't have to be awesome from the start. Lap dances are more important.

How long does it usually take to learn cool moves just by watching other girls after you've started?

Sorry if this is all over the place. I'm tired!

If you ever watch me on stage I RARELY ever do floor work anymore. Some very upscale clubs don't even allow floor work.

I'd say it's much more important to move gracefully while standing and be able to connect with the audience.

I do peepshow and I love floor work.

Whenever a window starts to close I get on all fours and slowly crawl towards them. Every time without fail they put more money in. Being at the costumers level and making hard eye contact is a good way to lock their interest and keep the money coming for me.

Floor work CAN be important but its not. Honestly in most lap dance centered clubs the most important thing is making eye contact and luring the guy in so you can hustle him when you get off stage. Everything else comes with time. I wouldn't worry to much about how well you move on stage.

^agreed, fluidity comes with time. making eye contact and looking like you're really enjoying yourself up on stage is most important. dancing with a glazed look over your face or bored isn't going to entice men.

Eh ... just start working. Use being new to your advantage and let the dances sell themselves !

I've worked in three clubs and every time I go to a new one , it's the first time I've EVER danced ( to the custies, not to hiring managers ) . I may try a new club in a new state next week where I will have my first night all over again ! Just to give you an idea, stage money currently represents about 20% of my money now. In my old place, we barely made ANYTHING on stage ( high end club too ! ) ....... so really ...... you are right. Dance sales = money.

I'll do a bit of floor but very little as it hurts my knees and tailbone. A majority of our girls do floor, various butt popping, shaking the legs while on their backs..I try to do the dance which is comfortable for me and that's normally on my feet with a fair dose of interaction if they are sitting at the stage edge

EYE CONTACT and smiling and acting like you are having fun even if you are not are more important, IMO , than any fancy moves

I am a floor work girl, I do barely any pole moves, and the ones I do do lead into floor work. My stage is very sensual and sexy. So for me floor work is where I make all my money. But no, you don't need to be an expert at it in order to start. It will come with time. Just start working and find your rhythm.

Just like pole tricks don't make a difference in most cases neither does floor work.

Generally customers just want to see a pretty girl wearing nothing but a smile.

Floor work can look tacky if you don't really know what you're doing. I rarely did moves on the floor. Not to mention how dirty the stages can get.

    So can pole work.

^^^ LOL Totally agree!!! I've seen some girls do things on the pole that they hadn't practiced nearly enough to be performing in public. Of course, I would never say that to any of them.

I think it depends on your club, stage and your style of dance.

what the other girls said are workable.

I'm a stage girl. I like to put on a big show, as much as I like to give a good lapdance. But i got a friend who is not the best at dancing...she tried everything-even learn the pole-but it never worked for her. but she now discovered that her personality sells. So when she goes on she is lively, funny and fun about. For example she winks, and plays peekaboo with her nipples. Guys love it...they say smiles and laughter is infectious...when she is on stage...she has all the men smiling as wide as her.

So lets just say its about personality. With this said....try not to be the same as the other girls. Slow and sexual is all well and good...but sometimes no matter how much a girl is sexy....they was a girl just like her before her. So...if anything...do stand out.

    Lots of eye contact...and smiling.

My floor work = me crawling around and picking on the guys in a funny flirty way. If you're in their face, it makes it easier for them to tip you.

I'm close to 30 and I have bad knees. I'm not about to do cute stuff but bust my kneecaps for a few bucks. If few people are tipping I'll just hang out laying down with the ones that are and maybe pop my buttcheeks while pre-selling them a dance. I'm more of a set girl anyway and my pole work is atrocious and embarrassing LOL. One of many reasons I usually have a prop and a theme.

I do a lot of floorwork, but mainly because I'm scared of heights and get bad vertigo if I stand near the edge of the stage. I also do the pole a lot too... I have a strategy: Get on the pole to get noticed then go to the floor to get tipped. I don't have much booty to shake so all of my moves have to do with fluidity and flexibility. The biggest thing is... point your toes!

if there's no one around the stage, i'll lay on my back and wiggle my legs in the air...i get so bored sometimes...

it also depends on the club. when i worked in GA, it was ALL floor work. we had a massive main stage, two girls would take the floor, and one would take the pole...we would make between $20 and $60 each on stage that way...the whole crowd was involved.

In dallas, it's different. little to no stage money, unless it's a busy friday night, and even then the most i've made (doing 5 stages) was like $25. >.< so i don't even bother. the tile on the stage at the club i'm at now, gives me butt pimples...so i just stand up and wiggle.

Ooooh where'd ya work in GA?

I'z from there. Sounds kinda like the stage tips we made back home. You can pm me if you don't wanna say on here.

I hated the decrease in stage tips after I left that state. Total bummer

Denver was like that when I first started. Earning $50 on a stage set was pretty normal... even more. Now it's a lot different though.

Yeah here it's pretty much customary NOT to tip the dancers on stage. Ugh. o_O

I like to put my foot behind my head if no one is tipping. Usually gets some kind of reaction. Or upside down sit ups on the pole lolz...

Ya know, floorwork can look tacky if you don't know what you're doing... I remember this one girl who used to do this awkward dog and fire hydrant move. Way not sexy.

There's a similar move that's more graceful but she simply just got on her knees and lifted her leg... haha.

Haaaaaaaaaa. I don't know what move you are talking about that but the mental image that just popped into my head is terrible.

No matter what, ALWAYS practice new moves in a mirror, or videotape your self and then watch. It's a little painful but sometimes that thing you feel uber-sexy doing looks... well, gross. Hah. I've done it a million times.

I love floor work as much as pole work. I am really limber so the more fantastic tricks that I could do the better my tips. I always averaged around $100 in tips a set. Being in two - four songs. I think it really just depends on how comfortable with it you are.
