I made a set of my own clip-in's, but they weren't that great and too much work. Just ordered a set from www.foxylocksextensions.com and I'm really excited to get them!
Do a search on youtube and a ton of videos about them will come up, they seem to be very high quality and reasonably priced. I'll post again after I get them in the mail.

edit: Jade so beat me to it!
I saw someone else posted a link for http://foxylocksextensions.com I looooover their hair and I can't wait to order some for myself when my color is in stock. she's not in the US, but the price for quality and quantity as well as shipping is still worth it.

Let me know what you think of foxylocks when they arive. I think I was the one that mentioned them in another thread. Ive been watching imogens videos and wanting to order them but saw conflicting reviews and since they dont come in my color and Id be ordering from the uk I want to know if they would be worth it.
Are you a DIY person? Are you good w sewing?
I make my own 20 - 24 inch extensions (depending on what kind of hair I find at the store that matches my color). To me, it is extremely easy and much cheaper than buying clip-in extensions that are pre-made. I don't wear them everyday, but I easily wear them at least 3 times/week, and they last for months. I do have to wash, them, though. Like any hair, as long as you buy human hair, you can blow-dry/curl/flat iron them.
There are several youtube videos that explain how to make your own. Maybe people who had a hard time making their own used a different process?
Each clip-in section takes me about 5 - 7 minutes MAX to make, depending on if I put 2 or 3 clips on the section. The hardest part to me is threading the needle (seriously) bc I use a small needle to fit through the wig-clip hole and a thick piece of thread. Once I get the thread through the first part, it takes about 1 minute to bind a clip to the hair weft.
I can't find the video of the man who taught me how to do this on youtube, unfortunately :-/. I might have to make one myself.
Exotica268, have you had any luck with finding/making a tutorial? I'd love to be able to make my own, and I'm pretty handy with a needle and thread. Do you wear them when you dance? How do they hold up?
just bought mine this weekend at sally. Im gonna post a pic with them in(in the pic post section). i love them. they were a 100 bucks. they snap in. they dont feel heavy at all. easy to put in/take out. they have them in curly or straight.
tried to upload, not sure if it worked
??

^^^ Nice.
I still think I'd like to get some clip in extensions as well, but my hair is naturally long. I'd need something along the lines of 28-30" extensions.
Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I would definately recommend sallys!!!!!!! The work great. And if a customer wants to play with your hair the stay pretty well.

i have neck length (lol. not too my shoulders but not chin length ) hair and got 8 inch ($7.99)and 12 inch hair extensions ($20) at sally which are human hair. and sewed the clips on (which were buy 3 get one free packs) total= under 35 bucks and looks GOOOD. getting the different lengths helps because it creates a layered haircut look instead of that" i have long hair extensions with short hair on top mullet-esque look"
Jenn, they look so cute!
Gypsydancer, does the hair come attached to a weft of some kind? Do you just sew them straight on to the clip, and you're ready to go?
Good to know they hold up well during work. It'd be terrible to have some come out in the middle of a dance, or while a customer was playing with your hair.

second picture is exactly what i bought. the first is what it looks like before you sew clips on them. and i dont like for cutomers to touch my hair, because they could feel the extensions, but hardly anyone tries to.
Cool, thanks.
