Hi y'all-
What do you do when, during normal initial small talk, a customer says something like "You're not from here; stop making things up" or "Why are you lying to me? You aren't 26. You're full of shit." or "really, your shift just started? you've said that before tonight."? This sort of thing seems to always happen when I'm actually telling the truth. Do I need to work on my tone of voice to sound more honest (when I'm being honest)? If so, how?
Normally I just assume the guy isn't interested in spending money on me, try not to let his attitude ruin my mood, and move on. Anyone have a better tactic that might actually salvage the sale?
This only happens to me once or twice a night. Don't know why it's stuck in my head.
Thanks!
