Default Bringing out the green in hazel eyes?

I have brown/gold/green hazel eyes, and have always loved the green most. I used to use colour contacts cause I love the intense emerald I can get with them, but would rather save the money spent on them for day-to-day.

I have heard great things about using plum colours to bring out green, others say brown or gold or caramel, I've even heard to use green. Any tips on bringing out the green in an intense way without contacts?

My eyes are a caramelish brown closest to the pupil, then a little layer of goldish flecks, then a med light green. In the wrong light they look just brown, and sunlight, especially bright, really brings out the green nicely.

Also- I am pale and dye my hair a dark red/auburn.

Any ladies with hazels have some tips for me?

Any shade of purple eyeshadow works VERY well in bringing the green out of your eyes.

I have green eyes and complimentary colours bring each other out. Red is complimentary to green. Obviously you are not going to wear red eye shadow but something with red tones in it like purple or a rust colour will help. Also just wearing red clothing although it maybe hard to match with your hair...

Almay makes eye shodow trios for certain eye colors. I was sceptical at first but finally saw them on sale at Target (I am cheap with makeup) so I bought the one for blue eyes. NEVER BEFORE have I beed complimented so much on my eyes.

They make color combos for all color eyes and a friend of mine with hazel tried them and she's hooked too.

My eyes are exactly like that only they tend to change with my mood and unfortunately for me they are the prettiest shade of light clear green only when i cry or am depressed. My ex used to tell me i was pretty when I cried which pissed me off, but really isnt like in the song & I finally understood when 1day i looked into the mirror after to notice how glowing green my eyes were. If I'm upset they go dark , but most the time they are hazel or rather brown/gold/green but brown from far. I simply use color blend contacts to bring it out more intense however I love contacts so I am always wearing them in different colors.

Anyhow aside from wearing purple, red to contrast your eyes you can compliment by using green blue or yellow. This is generally done best by wearing an outfit of that color to help people notice it in your eyes.

There is also tanning which if done dark enough will bring out the light in your eyes make them look exotic, but won't look as natural if you are pale white and have red hair --which dying your hair red would work more then tanning yourself really dark if naturally you are very fair skinned.

I have the same thing. The green is naturally light, although it shifts. But when I cry they are almost the emerald colour I used to get in contacts.

Oddly enough, the green probably looks most intense because there your eyes are a bit bloodshot (red) from crying! I always find the same for mine too! If you think of a colour wheel, the contrasting colour on the opposite side is in the red/pink/violet tones. Therefore these colours will look most intense side by side....think of how purple the flowers on a lilac tree pop against the green leaves. I would say use a med purple eyeshasdow on the lid, silver or white on the browbone, and a nice pink lipstick. I wanted to try the Almay but the colours didn't seem that great to me. Physicians Formula also makes eye colour specific shade combos, in a variety of finish looks ie neutral, smoky, intense pop, etc.

I'm a hazel too and it sounds like our coloring is similar, although I just colored my hair to get the auburn tones out (I'm now more of a cool dark brown).

Anywho, it works really well for me when I use smokier greens on my eyes and a navy liner on the lower lids. I LOVE bare minerals eye shadow- they sparkle, wear forever, and are easy to blend. So I use "gracious" (a grey/green) on my lid to brow, then contour it with "emerald" in the crease. Either super dark green or black liner on top with navy on the bottom, and I'm getting compliments on my eyes all the time. It actually brings out more aqua on me than anything else.

I swear by bare minerals. And I like to get the liner brush wet before I use it to make the shadow more intense.

I am the same way! I look so pretty after I just cried or when I have a sunburn, lol. I try to use pinks alot. I noticed if I keep my eye make up minimal and just load on the mascara, and use a pink lip and cheep tint and maybe a lil pink right above my creases kinda lik a bronzer...only blusher really the gren stands out more. Good luck!

I have those, 2 kinds, for my hazel-green eyes, and I don't care for them.

I prefer a dark deep purple. Urban Decay has some fab colors. Match that up with a golden or metallic hue, or even a pink with gold flecks. Will bring the green out!

The cover girl mascara for hazel eyes brings out the green, also purple and gold eyeshadow. Even a black or dark grey eyeshadow with gold flecks will make your eyes pop. Hazel eyes rock!

I use a combination of deep purple and deep emerald eye makeup to bring the green out. Urban Decay's got some really intense colors for that. So does Smashbox.

i wear bare minerals as well and also have the hazel green eyes lol the wearable green eyeshadow in medium is really good especially if i put it on like half my eyelid and blend it out towards the outer corner so that it starts light from the inner corner and gets darker...this actually makes eyes look bigger and then just put a little eyeliner on your lower lash line and blend it so it pops more

I second, third and fourth what all these ladies say!

My eyes are grey-blue, and I work on bringing the grey out because it makes them shimmery. But I WISH i could wear intense purples! All my hazel eyed girlfriends wear intense, crazy dark purples and plus, and it makes their eyes look fantastic! Just go for a warm undertone colour, instead of a cool. It will warm them right up.

A crazy deep emerald with gold will do the trick too.

Boo, I'm stuck with greys, silvers, blues and blacks.

I have the same type eyes .. but usually look more "light brown"
when I dyed my hair jet black .. they looked green all the time

I see, though you are asking for makeup tips
maybe i'll try some of them as I prefer my red hair now

I have hazel eyes too. I just found this great cinnamon color eye shadow that makes my eyes look really green. I think it's made by Maybelline.
