But, its no lie that sometimes dancers do it because they get a bad vibe from the guy. Not bad enough to say no to the dance, but they instinctualy feel the guy might be a flight risk. So yeah, sometimes strippers do ask for payment up front because they think there's a good chance you're an asshole.

Alas, the times I've been ripped off, never saw it coming, the custies behaved quite normally and were friendly right up until it was time to pony up.

With the one recent exception when I was asked for $$ up front for a VIP in Vegas, I had never been asked before, and on return home have not been asked since. I assume that in that Vegas club ALL custies were asked for the cash up front.....coz honestly - if I had witnessed other custies paying AFTER their dances, I'd have been mighty pissed off. It might just have been that the dancer had been ripped off the week before by a well dressed, sober female custie....who knows? In that case she definitely should have been cautious. But I still would have felt slighted .

In some Vegas VIP areas, bouncers require that the dancers get paid up front. Often the bouncers/hosts will facilitate it themselves. They aren't doing it because they care about the dancers, they are protecting their cut. $20 floor dances are usually paid after the dance.

Plus, sooooooooo many drunk custies in Vegas that have run out of money and don't even realize it. Or, drunks that sober up fast when they get the bill. This happened with a guy I was with. We got VIP with two girls and the VIP waitress padded the hell out of our bill with drinks we didn't order. He FLIPPED out and started making a scene and wouldn't pay, so I brought out my credit card and paid for it because I didn't want to get thrown out into the alley on my ass. He paid me back the next day after I broke down the invoice for him and he realized he looked like an ass.

But imagine if that guy didn't have me. He would have stiffed the dancers $400 and stiffed the club $200...this is all before tax and tip as well....

I've never asked a female custy to pre-pay. However I did get ripped off by a female once, sort of. She wanted a dance. Afterwards, she went to her purse to pay and had no cash. She was with 2 guys and they REFUSED to lend her the money to pay for our dance even though they were watching and cheering us on. Fucking assholes...people can really turn into douches when they've been drinking.

    That sucks.

Now that I think about it....I remember that the cutie in Vegas who asked me to pre-pay seemed almost embarrassed about asking me. Might have been a bouncer thing. At least I'd like to think that .

Myself, as a patron I have no problem with upfront pay for the dance fee. As someone else said, it makes me check to be sure I'm not running out. As to tips, in the case of a cash-basis floor/table dance I prefer tipping afterwards; if I'm charging it for the private room I'm OK with placing a hold on a reasonable baseline tip amount, that I can then adjust upwards when settling at the end.

Word . Particularly the later option. My experience with dancers who asked for upfront payment in clubs/settings where it is not customary were mostly mediocre to subpar dances. The last real good upfront pay dance for me happened over 10 years ago.

Save for time based VIP packages,(and 2 So Cal DV clubs with cash machine/ light timer system that I visited- once) upfront payment for dances has not been customary in the clubs that I've visited.

I agree with some prior posters views on the tone that is set and how it deviates from societal norms (e.g. None of my employers fronted my salary to me prior to my first days work). Yet, I can also see the rationale for prepaying in certain settings (special VIP rooms, especially on SRO nights). That squares with downpayment minimums for auto and home purchases. Yet, as I wouldn't buy a car without a test drive, or a home without a pre-purchase inspection, neither will I prepay VIP without trying regular dances first.

I’ve only been asked to pay up front once and it did catch me off guard. Still didn’t matter I tipped at the end of the dance. A $10 tip on a $20 dance, it would have been more but I didn’t like the dance much. Not to say it wasn’t good a good dance, just not what I liked.
The only two times I didn’t tip was once when I paid up front with a new girl for several dances, I had gotten a couple earlier in the night from her and thought she would be my new favorite. Unfortunately she decided that she could “take me” or something. As a result she lost a tip that would have been twice what she pulled, and a potential regular. I never said anything but she was fired for doing the same thing a couple weeks later to a friend of the owner.
The other was when a drunk dancer tried to give me an “extra”. When I jumped and moved to prevent her from freeing willy she was confused and neither of us knew what to do for the remainder of the dance. Lol
So yes paying up front is no problem and something I will probably do more often by choice after reading this thread. But how do you know how much you will be tipping till the dance is done, so ill still tip at the end.
