A week ago I rescued a kitten from a woman with too many animals that she couldn't take care of. I noticed the kitten (Duncan) was really skinny and pretty lathargic. All he wanted to do was sleep or cuddle and had zero interest in playing. Friday I took him to the vet for his shots and I told them about him being so lathargic and they said he was probably just still nervous and sad from being in a new environment since he was eating and using the litterbox with no problems. He also didnt have worms. They were just so worried how he was so skinny and they told me just to increase his food. So now its Tuesday at 2 am and I go to pick up Duncan and he has literally no muscle control and goes limp. He can't even lift his head up or meow. I rush to the 24hr. emergency vet and as soon as I put him on the counter he basically stopped breathing and I just lost it. At first they thought he was diabetic since his blood sugar was so low it couldnt even be recorded but then they found out that his abdomen is full of fluids. They quickly inserted a catheter and hooked him up to a bunch of iv's. They have no idea what's wrong it could be a number of things. Right now they are trying to keep him alive. They told me to go home while he stays over night and they will call me. They also told me if I hadn't brought him in within the hour he would have died on my couch. I'm just a freaking mess right now. It's 3 am.. I have no idea what's wrong with Duncan (or even if he will survive through the night). I cannot deal with this right now. Sorry it's such a long story I am just so hurting right now.
(Below are pictures of Duncan. He is such a good little kitten. Even though he was in pain he would still find the strength to purr and cuddle with you.)

Now I'm just grateful that he's healthy and hope that your kitty will be too!
