    Default Job Satisfaction ?

Other than making bank, do strippers experience anything resembling "Job Satisfaction?" In other words, besides a fat wad of Ben Franklins in her garter, what does a good day at the office look like? Is there any intangible piece that makes her want to suit up for work? I'm looking for say three elements/things that brings enthusiasm to the job and three that bring dread.

A good day at the office is when 1) a guy realized that "no" seriously means "No, you cannot take your dick out" 2) they don't try to lick me. Repeatedly.

For me, stripping was always just about the money. If I hadn't made the money I did, I wouldn't have kept going.

I like the idea that no matter what I'll always have a job and a reliable source of income (as unreliable as everyone says, its never failed three years into the recession). I can travel anywhere in the country and work, my schedule is 100% flexible (within club hours), and my work ethic relates to my pay.

I love going on stage and having a guy throw an exorbitant amount of money on me..... the most I have ever had was $1500 in ones, while I just laid there with my back arched looking sexy and the entire club staring in awe. I love moments like that! That only happened once in five years though.... Just in general, I love the power that comes with that job, you are the top of the totem pole, you can get away with so much and you really don't have a "boss" to answer to.... but it definitely all comes down to the money, if I didn't make money at this job I would not do it, I would never do it for free!!!

Pretty much everything JD said, although I've never been given $1500 on stage (^5 girl!)

Besides the money, flexibility is nice, work can be fun when you have fun customers and good staff around you, dancing on stage is fun and creative and I love attention. Also, and this is money related...I am naturally a very lazy person, and am very content working only 3 days a week. But if I'm feeling ambitious or want to make a big purchase..I can potentially work 7 days a week, 12+ hours a day...and no one can deny me overtime. And although everyone here says that work is serious business, sometimes you leave work feeling like you've just left a big rocking party that you've actually got paid to attend. Aaaaaah, those were the good times.

Oh wait, we've forgotten one of the biggest satisfactory perks of the job:

GET TO MEET HOT CHICKS, MANY OF WHOM ARE BISEXUAL!!!!

These responses were pretty much what I expected, I just wanted to hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak. I couldn't see much job satisfaction from my side of the table, but thought I'd let the pros point out something I may have overlooked. I get a similar response from women in other fields of entertainment catering to men's libidos/instinctual drives. They liked the money, thought the men were LAMO!!! Seems to be a fairly common denominator. Go figure.

Funny, people work in all sorts of jobs for different reasons. Usually when they dread the job tasks/clientele (IE. military combat zones, prison guards, garbage men), besides the pay check (well with stripping it's earning potential/opportunity), it's the intangible camaraderie of their co-workers that makes for a silver lining in an otherwise dark cloud.

Wasn't sure where stripping fell along that continuum of job satisfaction. Pros: Limited qualifications/training/education required to make a fairly lucrative income. Cons: No health insurance, no unemployment benefits, no paid time off, no salary, no resume building for career advancement...

No job satisfaction, no kidding. That said, the industry continues churning along. Probably a better question would've been: "What was a stripper's initial attraction/motivation to take the job and why does it eventually loose its attraction causing her to hang up her spurs?"

I assume you mean lose not loose (as in this rope Im about to hang myself with from all these stupid questions is too loose to get the job done....)

A better question still... why do you care? And for that matter, what does answering you do for any of us? Do you care about the plight of your local dancer? We want money. Same reason you work ANY OTHER JOB out there. You want a paycheck.

I like to eat, I like to pay rent, the bank likes to continue receiving payments for the money they loaned me, schools like it when you pay tuition. That's why I dance. So I can do all those things.

    Jeez...

This OP is akin to the guy you meet at the club who says, "Ok, answer this question for me. But, the answer cannot be 'for money.' Why do you work as a stripper?"

Job satisfaction would be if I could make $500 between 5-Midnight every single time I work and no one tries to grab me hard or do any other gross things. I'm currently not satisfied. ;(

It's really not rocket science. I just go into the club buy lots of dances and drinks for the hot, sexy, beautiful dancers, leave my heart at the door and come back the next week and do it all over again.
After all spending $$$ on a dancer, respecting her boundries and giving a generous tip for a job well done is probably Job Satisfaction for her.

    1. Power trip.
    2. Getting to make up fantastical stories, and people believe me.
    3. I can adjust my schedule to anyone's so I can spend more time with the people I love.

Other than that and money, nada.

The gals I've known to be most successful are those who wear life as a loose garment. They have a certain cavalier attitude about the whole gig.

I've often thought the power trip had to factor in there on some level. I mean where else can a 21 year old young woman shift the power structure to where she's now got a 40 to 50 year old man pleading for her to tease and taunt him?

In corporate America she's having to navigate a fine line between looking good to be noticed, but not too provocative such that she call undo attention to herself. If she's moderately attractive and has nice shape, she has to think through her wardrobe so as to not encourage the older men to stare and undress her with their eyes.

Once on stage in her bra an panties she has these guys groveling to put cash in her garter. She's got what they want, she knows it and she exploits it. That's got to feel good at some level. There's got to be some job satisfaction in there some place.

From a professional occupational perspective...disagree. Having the ability to turn on old dudes in a social environment, or working in an entertaining job (stripper, nightclub, bartender, waitress, liquor promo girl, etc...) super easy and I totally agree.

But I recall working in IT as a hot 21 year old girl. It didn't hurt to be hot, but it didn't really do anything for my career...one still has to know what they are doing, meet quotas, provdie measurable results, play politics, etc....

Stripping and entertainment type jobs are a different world...at least from the perspective of a girl who has done both, often concurrently, through her entire 20's.

Really?!?! Any 21 year old, anywhere, anytime. I must be living under a rock.

I could see this being true in a spring break setting where women flash and/or enter wet tee shirt contests for the shear satisfaction of being admired/applauded for their innate beauty. But that's an entirely different dynamic than a SC. Same female form, but very different cause & effect relative to age difference and fee for service.

    Nah, just Missouri.

If you're an attractive woman, you automatically have an advantage over men, period.

What? It's really not that complicated. Dudes like pretty girls, which gives pretty girls the power to control dudes. Doesn't matter if it's in a strip club or not. Control is control.

Well if you say so. I've always found control more of an illusion than a fact. And a fleeting illusion at that. In any event strippers choose which tables to visit and patrons choose who they buy dances from. Everyone "controls" something.

You're so right, dudes do like pretty girls. There's an entire fashion industry, not mention face lifts & boob jobs, built on the concept of dudes liking pretty girls.
