I wanna know too. My place uses ice packs before they do it but there is no way they can ice all those bits of your girl parts. It hurts sooo bad. I wish it didn't work so well!! Haha.

My friend said a doctor prescribed her "topical novocaine" for the procedures. Who knows what that was though. Also, my laser tech used a "numbing spray" on me once, but I couldn't feel any difference and I don't know what it was. Usually I just take some ibuprofen and try and breathe really deep.

Lasered? Like... for hair removal or are you talking about some other procedure?

Who knows what that was though....

My guess is that it was some sort of lidocaine-like substance.

I had laser hair removal on my bikini area and on my underarms. Both took 7 treatments, with 6 weeks off in between treatments. I used Zcaine, which is a fast acting anesthetic gel, and it worked like a dream. My first two treatments for my bikini area I tried doing it without using the gel, because it was $40 for the tube, and I was trying to save money, and it hurt like hell. the third treatment I decided to spend the $40 for the tube (which lasted through the rest of the bikini treatments and the entire underarm treatments), and felt no pain at all.

If you apply the gel an hour before the treatment, and cover the area in plastic wrap, it will sting a little at first as it starts to numb, but by the time the hour is up you can poke forks in the area and not even feel it.

I had my laser treatment done at a spa and they sold the gel right there. The active ingredient in it is Lidocaine. It's just a topical anesthetic, so you might be able to buy it over the counter at any drugstore.

    Good luck!
