Dizzy Body lotion/moisturizer that won't grease up the pole??

Hi, I am going to start dancing soon but I am already taking pole dance classes.

We can't wear body lotion the day of class because it will grease up the pole and make it slippery and dangerous--one day i forgot and boy did it really ruin my day at dance class!! lol.

So my question is: I have reeeeally really dry skin. If I forget to put body lotion on for 2 days my skin will get so dry it will crack and sometimes bleed. I drink tons of water, eat a balanced diet, and take vitamins, but no matter what, I have always had dry skin!

So what kind of body lotion or moisturizer can I use every day that won't make me slip on the pole/grease it up?

    Thanks!

I don't know of any at all. The only thing that I've done that is sometimes okay is to put Vaseline on my hands at night with cotton gloves and sleep in them. In the morning I was my hands, and before I get on the pole I rub them down with rubbing alcohol to take the residue off. Then my hands are soft but not greasy. Good luck.

I shower at night after work and apply moisturizer right after. Overnight the moisture seems to lock into my skin. Then I shower again before work the next day to shave, and don't apply moisturizer.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Aveeno daily moisture. Apply it 1 1/2 hrs before class or work. I swear by it.

Honestly...just don't use it the days you work. Even if you do floor work I have seen girls slip on it and fall off the stages before. I wouldn't try it if I were you. I made it a point to only put it on my face and neck and wash my hands afterwards. :/

I use the original Curel and take Vitamin E supplements. For especially dry areas, I use Vitamin E oil.

I moisturize after my morning shower at 7-8am, then go into work around 7pm that night. I have never had a problem with the pole being slick. I do make sure to wipe my hands and inner legs down with rubbing alcohol before stage, and wipe the hell outa the pole since a particular dancer likes to apply self tanner at work. I swear, you grab the pole after her and your hand comes away icky brown.

DRY body oil. Apply it right after you shower. Stuff is great. Your skin feels so soft and not greasy at all.

I apply lotion sparingly after I shower, around 7 or 7:30, and by the time I start work at 10 or 10:30, it's all absorbed. I never have lotion-related pole problems. Just make sure your lotion isn't heavy, and give your skin time to soak it up.

Hey, this is my first post, my sister has the same problem as you, it runs in our family, we've tried absolutely everything to moisturize our skin, what I find works is, baby lotion! but the problem with that is, if you sweat, its gonna get slippery. What I recommend most is, Olay Body Wash with the ribbons, it actually works, but the ones I find that are very moisturizing is, are the purple and pink ones, after using that on a loofah in the shower, you can skip the lotion afterwards and are good to go! I dont know how it works, but what I do know, is that it works. lol and I know this thread is 2 weeks old, but hope i helped, sorry this is long lol

Problem with Baby Lotion is that it is pure Mineral Oil and isn't good for your system.

I've been taking MSM powder (about 2tsp with orange juice every day, gonna try and get up to a tablespoon by the end of the week) for my joints, hair and nails. It also helps soften your skin after awhile.

After you get out of your shower (hot shower is the best), try using Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion. It's thick, creamy, and absorbs very nicely overnight and gives a great texture. I have dry legs but cocoa butter does WONDERS and I don't always have to moisturize after shaving.

I second the Cocoa Butter - I apply it after I shower after work. It seeps in overnight (like a few other ladies mentioned), and I usually don't have any lotion related accidents.

And Cocoa Butter does wonders for skin tone imperfections and reducing the appearance of scars and stretch marks!

I have heard this before, mineral oil being bad, but I never knew why. Why is mineral oil so bad for you?

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm never gonna use it, but I've just heard that a lot and I was just curious what it does to your system

    Thanks!

yea if anything like the other gals said, the night after work shower, then lotion that doesnt contain any oils or grease/butter and sleep in it. if you shower that morning and lotion up, depending on how your body is if you sweat easily or alot, you will sweat out the lotion.

I help teach pole and i noticed for some reason my skin was so dry that I didnt have any grip with my legs. some of the USPDF girls too say they need lotion or they cant stick so I went and got me some.

Me personally, got "Lubriderm Daily Moisture" on the bottle it says it has a clean and non greasy feel =) so i figured that was the way for me =)

I use Villainess Smooch or Whipped before bed then wash it off in the morning-thoroughly!

Decent moisterisers will come out from deep in your pores when you sweat though and could cause a problem on the pole. In Winter though I have to keep up the moisteriser at nights or my dry skin would never grip a pole!
