    Default Lipo- redo?

Has anyone ever had Lipo and then had the area redone again? I had Lipo done exacty a year ago and I'm not happy with the results. I've been waiting patiently for the 'swelling' to go down but I think I'm at my final result now. I went to see my surgeon last month and he said he thinks there's still swelling there and I was to start massaging the area. Would there still be swelling there a year later though?

Why would you still be swollen? To swell, you must either have an infection, the area may be traumatised, could be deep vein thrombosis - er, do you look infected? Have you been punched in that area lately? Is it tender and red?

Then no, you are not swollen after a ruddy year. Do the massage for a while, tell him it's not working. After a YEAR I would expect to either be unswollen, or if swollen, in need of dire medical attention.
Get the fuck off my harbl, yo'.

The swelling from Lipo can take months to go down. It all depends on the person and doesn't indicate an infection usually. It doesn't usually last a year, but I did a net search and some surgeons said it can take over a year to go down. I do trust him, but I'm worried he didn't take away enough fat. I'm just wondering if they redo the area will it still look good or might it go lumpy.

One of my family members just had SmartLipo done for a second time. She had hard spots where scar tissue formed the first time around. I wish I could tell you more about it but she's practically the opposite of me. She refuses to check her weight on the scale or measure herself. So I can't tell you if it really worked.

Why don't you talk to your doctor and see if he can put you in contact with patients who went through lipo a second time?

I had lipo and I'm not happy with my results. 6 months after my doctor kept telling me to massage it and wait for the swelling to go down, but it looks the same now - 4 years later - as it did at 6 months. I want to go back and get more done too.

It's like he didn't contour the right areas....Idk.

Looking into this guys http://www.alfredohoyos.com/meet-the-doctor-eng.html Check out his Vaser lipo...freaking amazing!

I'm going to go back and have it redone. I know my own body- swelling doesn't last for over a year. I can get any part of it redone within three years for free.

^^^ Out of curiosity, what type of lipo did you have? I've heard the BodyJet water lipo is pretty amazing.

Oh, might be important to mention: I was told there's no such thing as having it "redone"....you just get more sucked out. Lipo removes fat cells, and I was told your body can't make more of those. You can't grow back the fat you had sucked out, but the fat cells left can get bigger. You're just going back because the Doc couldn't/wouldn't suck out enough the first time.

Let us know how it goes!

She's totally right. Also, if you go back to the same doctor I'd be insistent on getting a discount.

Luckily they have a three year guarantee so if you're not happy with any of results they'll
do them for free. I'm not looking forward to wearing the horrible post-op garment again. :/

I had my love handles and arms done. It was Tumescent Liposuction.
