    Default Traveling

I am thinking about taking an extended working vacation but I'm not sure how to even go about it. For the girls who do it, do you just plot your route, pick out the clubs along the way, and ask them if they hire dancers for a few days? If so, will they hire you from an emailed picture?

How long do you usually find you can keep this up before it wears you out? What states/cities require licenses? What are some of your favorite and least favorite places to dance on the road?

I did a few searches but there is a lot to wade through. If a thread has already addressed these questions, I would very much appreciate a link to it.

The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

I would plan a basic route that included states that don't require a license, or require a very-easy-to-get license. Then I would make a list of the top 5 or so clubs in each city i was passing through, and print out some cheap hotels in each city. Then just roll into each city, go to the club and work for a while, then move on to the next city, and so on. I'm a bit OCD so I print like, a mountain of directions and info for each town, but I think I take that part overboard. Prepared is good though.

Where are you thinking of going?

Many girls plan out their trips by the tourist seasons. If you plan to travel by yourself you might want to consider that.

The advantage of the agencies is that you can get some things paid for you: shared hotel room, one way flights, and sometimes a salary. I'd just suggest getting things in writing/contract because sometimes clubs back out on their word.

The positive side of going at it on your own is that there's no time commitment. If money is bad you don't have to stay there for a certain time... which can be anywhere from 1 week to 3 months.

It's not necessarily by state, it's usually by city. You can call the clubs (if you trust them) or call the sheriff's department and ask.

When I was doing a lot of 'road trips' I bypassed booking agents most of the time. I also tried to plan trips that coincided with 'where the money is' ... from both a seasonal and overall standpoint. For example, this time of year, I would usually be looking at the eastern seaboard ... since as the temperature rises lots of working guys will want to get out of the big cities early and/or spend weekends at the 'shore'. I would begin by checking out stripclublist.com for interesting clubs ... bookmark the club websites / email addresses ... and then send them an email ( with pics or better yet a video clip ) asking if they could book me for a particular week.

Based on club responses, I would pick the best 3 clubs and try to set up a 'loop' schedule where I could drive from home to the first club, then a second club a week later, then a third club the following week, and return home the week after that. Trust me after three weeks of dancing on the road you're going to be ready for a week off ... not to mention needing to catch up on paying bills / doing laundry etc. not to mention setting up the next 3 club road trip. Once the 3 week schedule was set, I would then use mapquest to locate halfway decent hotels / motels near the three clubs and then call the hotel / motel managers directly to negotiate a weekly discount rate.

In general I avoided smaller cities that required dancer's licenses ... simply because it was not worth it financially to invest an entire day at city hall / police station and paying $100-200-whatever to get a license that I was only going to use for a single week. Better off working or resting the extra day !

Unless you have an overriding desire or need to visit a particular city and want to try and dance there to defray expenses you would have incurred anyhow, the object of every 'road trip' is to earn more money than you could have by dancing in a local club. Accordingly, every mile you drive, every night you spend in a hotel / motel, and every restaurant breakfast you eat creates additional expenses that would not have existed if you had simply danced at a local club. Therefore it's very important to choose clubs that can offer significant earnings potential.

Once you've decided on the cities and clubs call the clubs to get the info. *Hopefully* they'll be helpful.

*Sometimes* each city in one county will have different requirements ... for example ... Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe & Chandler are all in Maricopa county but each city has a different license requirement / fee ranging from $0 (Tempe) - $200 (Chandler) being the highest.

It won't be for awhile but I just wanted to hear experiences and see if it was the type of thing I could handle.

I'm not sure where I'm starting because a couple friends of mine are in the process of purchasing a big Class A RV and doing an extended road trip around the US, Canada, and Mexico in it. I want to go with them, and the benefit is I wouldn't need have big hotel/restaurant expenses but the downside is we probably won't be in any one town for as long as a week and I don't have the final say where we go. The point of the road trip is to try to sell our art so I was hoping I could strip for a few days here and there if we stopped in a city with good club prospects. Would most clubs even let me work for just 2-3 days?

Thanks for the info everyone has already given, by the way.

Sure you could strip at any club for 2 - 3 days BUT do NOT tell the management you're just cruising through because they may not allow it. The only problem w/ doing this is you will more than likely burn bridges along the way and not be able to return to certain clubs.

Vegas is totally traveling dancer friendly so you could do this here w/out burning bridges. I *think* most of FL is that way as well. You should be able to get away w/ it in Phoenix.

IMO your main concern is licensing cost.

I'm not sure I'd need to return to certain clubs so that's okay with me, but I feel bad being deceptive. I guess they are used to girls disappearing pretty quick though.

I was going to avoid states/cities where I needed a license but I was assuming not many states required it.

I am a proponent of telling them the truth... just in case you like the club and want to work there again.

My advice is to call the clubs ahead and find out if they book traveling dancers and if there is a minimum number of shifts required for a booking

Stripping is a transient industry and managers are used to dancers coming and going. Heck, some dancers audition, get hired, and don't ever work ... no biggie for the manager.

If you feel bad about being deceptive then tell the truth and the manager will tell you yes or no.

There's way too many cities to figure out who requires licensing. Your best bet is to find out from your roadtrip friends which cities you'll possibly be traveling through, research the clubs in each city, decide which clubs, then call them and get all the info.

managers expect us to be flakey... as long as you dont flat out lie and you behave during your time there, then i wouldnt sweat it.

if you think you want to come back to the club maybe tell them that you just moved there... then on your last day apologize and say your new place fell through and you have to go back to where you came from and you are not sure if you can make it work. bullshit stripper excuse but sounds legit enough. no reason for them to not let you come back to work as long as you sound apologetic and you have shown yourself to not be a troublemaker while you are there. i have used similar excuses to this on many occasions .

You can got to Stripclublist.com. You can enter you zip code and it will tell you all the clubs within 150 miles. I Love this website we're on right now, don't get me wrong, but stripclublist.com has better reviews of clubs.

Also I go to clubs by myself for a few reasons. If you have a girl you really know than it's cool to take her, but if you go by yourself you can do you own thing and not have to worry about someone else.

I keep this up for about 3 months before I get tired @ the same time I only travel 2 to 3 hours so I see home 4 days a week. If I can't get a room then I drive back.
