    Default That's A New Low

Was in Chicago on business last night. Hit my favorite club. Won't mention it by name here.

I will admit that I love to party when I go out and hit the booze pretty hard. But last night was a new "low". I had a few cocktails and bought a few round of shots, and end up in VIP, but have little to no memory of the evening past the first hour when I couldn't have been that drunk.

Check the gold AMEX online today and find I have been hammered for over $3g of charges. 3 hours in VIP and nearly $1000 bar tab.

Again, I will be the first to admit that I get the drink on, but is it possible that someone (dancer, VIP waitress, VIP host) actually ruffied me? It is all a blank and I can usually handle my liquor.

And before anyone asks, yes, I travel by cab. But cannot remember the ride at all.

Ever happen to anyone? Is this possible?

I've seen this. I've worked all over the country and never seen a waitress or VIP Host drug a customer.

Chalk it up to experience dude- we all have days like that.

Thanks, but guess I am confused. You say you have seen this, but then say you have never seen a waitress or VIP host do this. Am I to conclude that you think the dancer did this and you have seen it before?

Wow, really sick. I don't mean to exaggerate, but if I am that out of it, I can imagine I am not far from a serious health issue, ie, unconsciousness or worse.

And this used to be such an honorable industry.

Yeah man it happens....i never do credit cards...well once with JD...but anyway...i was 1500 lighter in cash one night and never remember getting back to the hotel. I know i was drugged cause i am a PROFESSIONAL alcoholic and i couldnt remember anything past my 6th drink....bullshit....i have done way more than that in one night and drove back to the hotel and Jd can attest to that.

I don't know, I just think you guys are a bunch of babies who can't handle your alcohol. In five years, I've never seen a dancer/waitress/manager drug a customer. Boo hoo you drank too much and can't remember, so we MUST have drugged you! hahahahaha..... I know for me, I can't mix vodka and champagne or I will NOT remember anything! If someone slips you GHB, you will not have a hangover, in fact you will wake up feeling very refreshed, I don't know about other drugs though....

There's a new drug that is gaining popularity in South America, it's called "dragon's breath" or something like that, it's a powder that you just blow into a guy's face, and within seconds that guy becomes like a robotic zombie, will do anything you tell him. I am seriously considering flying down to Colombia and bringing back some of this to use at work, I can see it now...... blow powder in a guy's face, walk him to the ATM, take all his money!

I've never seen it myself, but I suspect it in the death of a well-known architect in Boulder. Family and police hushed it up, but the circumstances known publicly are quite suspicious. I've no access to private or police files.

Needless to say, there's no shortage of drugs in clubs, so why not slip a customer a mickey?

As for me, I was drugged in a Boulder bar 40 some years ago. Some upper or acid. Never so frightened in my life. Phoned a psychologist friend at midnight who was kind enough to talk me down for 3 hours until I could handle reality and the residual non-reality. That bar's still in business, a favorite of college kids, and only 1/2 block from Nitro.

I drink only water in the club -- any club -- and insist on bottled water still sealed. I accept no freebies from "friends" or anyone else.

Fool him once... Fool him twice...

Sorry you had to go through this. J.D. and others may have never seen it happen, but there are kooks anywhere, in any setting. Why not a strip club?

being a regular drunkard means that sometimes a few drinks will knock you out, even if most of the time you have a high tolerance. a lot of people can knock back a fifth on weekends, and then one night four drinks does them in without any third party drugging someone.

alcohol is not as reliable as people like to feel just because it's easier to get and use than many other intoxicants.

I worked in the clubs for a decade and have used a lot of drugs in the process. There is usually a coke guy in the club and maybe a weed/speed guy. But I've never met anyone who advertises to sell ghb/rohyptnol out of the club. That's stuff people do at home and bring with them.

Sometimes even seasoned alcoholics have bad black-out nights. Just because you HAVE been able to drink a lot more before does not mean you cannot black out. Its a physiological reaction and can happen after ~3 drinks. People are way too quick to say I've been drugged and it makes those of us who have been drugged seem un-credible. This happens to me all the time, as I'm an alcoholic. Its always a toss up of if I black out or nor, I no longer make any assumptions of how much I can handle.

That being said, I have heard of a stripper drugging a custy. But she already knew him and was exacting some form of revenge. He went to the hospital and tested positive for GHB. He had shorted her money the last time he say her...but for OTC sex, not in the club.

Anyhow, to the OP, you totally got taken advantage of by the club because you were drunk. Not THAT happens every night and no one needs to slip anyone a mickey to do it.

Instead of a designated driver...maybe what you need is a designated credit card holder.

Chalk it up as a lesson learned about using credit cards in a strip club...or frankly any bar/club.

Sounds like another tuition bill came due As discussed in the Credit Cards in Strip Clubs discussion thread, IMO one should NEVER bring a credit card to a SC. Only bad things can happen.

No, I mean I have seen a dude get shithouse drunk, sign over a huge sum of money, and then call the club the next day to dispute it because he didn't recall spending the money.

Most high end clubs will use thumbprints for security measures these days. Did you put a thumb print on your credit slip? Did they ask you to make the signature match the one on the ID you used? Did they take copies of your CC and ID? Most well run clubs will do most, if not all of these things.

    OK, understood.

I am not per se complaining about the credit card charges. I fully believe I was in VIP for 3 hours. Now, the $1000 bar tab is way over the top, but order a bottle and who knows. So, I don't think there was any actual fraud with my CC by the VIP host or VIP waitress.

But I am 100% confident that I did not stay in VIP for 3 hours or order an expensive bottle without something funny going on.

I am sure it is easy for the strippers to write this off as "drunk guy", and I already admitted I like to get my drink on, but I know the difference between getting wasted, and having several drinks in the course of an hour or two, and then having all memory ripped from you. There was something jacked up going on. Just asking if anyone else ever ran into this.

Perhaps in your experience. Not mine. I've never seen such CC security measures anyplace in Colorado, in ANY business. I guess we're still in frontier days.

Besides, if he was 3 sheets to the wind (for whatever reasons), why would you expect him to remember such things?

With all due respect, RB had a bad experience, for which he is partly to blame. He tells a cautionary tale. And asks for some sympathy or empathy in the process. Whether he is due such sympathy is a personal choice by the reader. Whether we learn something in the process is also up to us.

But I don't understand why we must second-guess his report or what little he remembers or 3rd-degree him about something he doesn't remember. Seems a bit pointless.

Buyer beware. Whether purchasing liquor from/with a half-naked woman or purchasing a matress from Simmons and its lecherous venture capitalists.
