Default am i too thin to dance

i'm 112 and five foot five do you think i'm too thin?
i worked for a couple of days in la and i did pretty well, but i think i'm going to start up again...i don't know how to do the splits or any pole tricks...i'm going to be straight forward and honest with my boyfriend about it i think that he will be fine with it. i mean money is money. and i want to pay for private college. plus i've always been fascinated with that lifestyle.what do you think?

Without posting a photo it's hard to say. I'm about your same height and I was probably 115 or 119lbs when I started. If the club hired you though then you aren't to thin for them - and that's what matters.

I don't really see the question because you obviously already got hired and did well.
Also, 5'5 and 112 isn't crazy skinny at all. Sounds fine.

I'm 5'4 and a half and about the same weight when I'm at my ideal weight, so I don't think so at all. Once you start dancing some you'll probably add a lot of muscle to that and you won't look as 'skinny', more toned.

i think that is a good weight--pretty close to what i weighted when I started if not on the mark I am maybe 1/2in taller, but too thin might depend on yr frame & how you carry it more then anything. Still obviously you got hired & did well so I wouldn't stress it if anything dancing should help you gain strength which might add a few lbs of muscle on ya like others have stated. How about post a pic if you are asking for opinions on your build & if more weight would be better or not for you as a dancer. I know 5lbs did the trick for me & thats the weight i feel i look my best in terms of size, but it depends how you are built in my book.

    sorry guys i can't post a photo, i don't have a digital camera yet
thanks for your feedback yea you're right i'll probably feel alot better with my muscles a little more toned.
&&i kind of have to stop being so self conscious.i looked in the mirror and i realized that people would PAY to have a thin waist like mine, so whatever i'll just work what i've got and work on it a little. honestly, gaining weight is just a matter of eating more, right?

Seconded. If you can stand up and walk (i.e. are not emaciated) you'll do great. I bet you are beautiful, and remember there is a custie out there for EVERYTHING.

A lot of guys love very thin girls! Even girls I personally find frightening seem to do well! Being too chunky is what a stripper needs to worry about, not being too thin!

i'm really thin and never had a problem. some of the thinnest dancers do really well (obviously good hustlers) they're really popular especially with the pedophile type men. and i don't think your weight is too skinny. i wear sets with skirts to add more curve to my body too. plus you're in la and there are plenty of thin girls and some of the 'higher' end clubs won't hire you unless you're thin or in really good shape.

I have seen & believe there is a 2 thin. I tell people all the time if a chick has a Skeletor face & no meat on her body I don't want to see it (seen a few of those dancing who still were hired & made $), but that is generally either when some1 has a drug or ed problem that is seriously unhealthy. Natural heathy thin is debatable in my book when thin becomes too thin depending on how it looks on a woman, but yeah personally my dating rules was any1 thinner as more slender then me when I was that weight was to thin for my taste.

i agree with pretty much all of the other girls on here. you have what most would call a "dancer's body"; term usually geared towards ballet but pole dancing really isn't much different. besides like most have said here, as long as you don't look like you have an ed or drug problem you should have nothing to worry about.

I'm 5'4" and my 'dancing weight' was 126 pounds. Of course, about 9 pounds of that was my breast implants LOL !

Why would you think you're too thin? Im 5'4 and 105, so no, you're not too thin. But Im a little concerned about your "fascination" with the "lifestyle". Please be careful. This isn't a game, and naive newbies are easy pickings.

I'm 5' 7" and 150 lbs. I sure don't look like it though. As others have said--without pictures, we really can't tell you anything!

Remember, muscle weighs more than fat. I weigh a lot more than some of the *ahem* heavier dancers at work, yet I look like I weigh half as much.

I work in Georgia during a day shift, and I have to say that for the regulars, I'm too thin for them...not their favorite flavor of ice cream. But at nights, with many more people with many more exciting lifestyles who come out...I'm the dish of the week so for me it depends on when I work.

I agree, I've never heard a manager say anything, like "come back after you gain a few pounds, it's usuallly the opposite.

I'm 5'6" and 112 lbs; technically I think that's "underweight" (according to my Wii Fit ) but I'm not grossly thin so I'm sure you're fine!
