Default Does dancing in Seattle suck as much as people say it does?

So I've been thinking about moving to Seattle - I have some really awesome friends who need another roomate... But, I've heard from a lot of girls that working in Seattle sucks ass. I've heard that the clubs are dirty and that the customers sometimes expect handjobs or even sex becasue a lot of dancers do that, that its dangerous, girls are evil, evil mean, and that stage fees are really high... I know a lot of girls who drive down here to Portland for the weekend just to work.

So are all these awful rumors true? What are the clubs really like up there?

I'm working at a club in Seattle that is closing. A lot of us girls are not exactly sure what to do after it closes because things aren't good as far as stripping in clubs goes.

There is no alcohol allowed in Seattle clubs, and there are high license and stage fees.

I've heard mixed things from the girls I work with who work at the hustle clubs. One says all the costumers expect hand jobs, the other says its not too bad you just have to deal with guys pulling out their dicks in the middle of dances.

Tons of girls are going to Portland.

Sorry that's all I've got, but there's a few Seattle girls on the forum who have been around longer than me.

Don't move to Seattle if you plan on dancing. I strongly suggest having another job or traveling if you're head strong about being here especially any time in the next few months.

The rumors about customers wanting handjobs and sex is partially true however it is in no way impossible to bank at a club that is known for extras. I worked for Rick's (well known for prostitution) before it was shut down by the feds and I was making $700+ daily without having to do anything dirty. There are dirty girls in all clubs anywhere in the world; Seattle is no eye opener. The rumors about girls being mean is 100% correct. I've never met more jealous and catty girls anywhere in my life. If you make over $100 a shift, prepare to be hated on hardcore, especially in Deja Vu clubs. The rumors about rapid extras are enforced by these girls because in their opinions, anyone that makes money HAS to be doing something dirty.

Talents West (the owner of Ricks, Honeys, Sugars, and Foxes) was shut down by the feds so there are now hundreds of dancers out of jobs and the only other option is Deja Vu (who have a monopoly over the state), Sands (which is a dive), Centerfolds (male dancers on weekends), and Sinrock (which is brand new and ultra strict). Most clubs charge $100-$140 for house fees and since there is no alcohol served in any Washington club, the clubs tend to be a bit empty. Now all the clubs left over are overrun with talents west dancers. It's unreasonable for Seattle clubs to have more than 40 girls on any given night given the strict limitations on strip clubs.

I only live in Seattle because of my husband otherwise I'd move in an instant. It's too pricey to live here given the inconsistency of the strip clubs. I now work in Vegas every other weekend because the money to be made now in Seattle is laughable.

Oh yea, and Lusty Lady is being shut down so that adds to the plethora of unemployed dancers taking up space in the few remaining clubs.

one of the reasons i moved to seattle was because i wanted to quit dancing in clubs and and people were making better money than the strippers doing pretty much any job and that was several years ago. so it was really easy to quit and still make good money. it's still pretty true, unless as a stripper you travel to portland or montana, etc. to work.

so yeah, i guess i would say it does suck as much for stripping as people say it does, more so now because half the clubs in town were shut down for prostitution and racketeering.

NREXM: Actually very few of the Lusties are continuing to dance at other clubs. I'd say maybe 10 girls are going to work at other clubs. Several dancers are retiring or do private gigs.

Go to Portland. It's less expensive, the people are nicer, and even the worst club is 100 times better than anything in Seattle.
