There should be something like the State board here in the states that regulates the cosmetology field there in Canada. If there is one, you should contact them and report this. If this is happening she needs to know that she is now being watched.

I found a damn BALD spot at the side of my ear already. I have no clue whether she did them right or not. I dont know what to do with her, OR if she messes up by removing them as well, she does them from home. This is her site, http://www.jessicahair.ca/
And I have one strand for prove,,, and a damn bald spot to show!!!!

What should I do.. I have no clue whether to deal with her or just sue her.

Sue.... no. No, no, no no no no no. You mention you dunno if she did them right or not. Uhmmmmm.... RESEARCH!..... did you do it? Does she have a cosmetology license? Was she referred to you by knowledgeable people?

If she is a reputable person you are welcome to give your review of her services on yelp.com or send in your experience to the Better Business Bureau (or the canadian version of the bbb).

However, everyones head is different and even the wisest, most professional hair-people can do something that has unexpected results....

Try seeing if she can remove your fusions or at least fix the damage. A second opinion is always an option.... maybe a rival stylist wants to give you a free consultation and tell you exactly why things went wrong.

Other than that, you can recommend that your friends avoid that stylists services or never go there again.

But to sue.... you gotta prove a pretty heavy level of negligence....

Oh heavens, what a litigious society we all live in.... tisk.. tisk.......

This happened to me at a prominent salon in my area! I had great lengths put in only 3 bundles thank god but at 3 weeks they were doing what yours were ripping out at the root and the ones that werent were ripping my real hair out at the root and I saw it stuck there. So I went back to the salon immediately and she said they were the bond was probably to heavy for my hair. She was going to take them out for free and redo. Well when I saw how horrible my real hair looked I told the salon no just give me my money back! Long story short I just walked away. The owner of the salon was such a bitch and to much to deal with. I did contact laywers though and if I had scalp, physical dammage they could help otherwise I had to go to small claims court. Anyways I would get them out right away! They are to heavy for your hair. Believe me I had mine just over 5 weeks and theyve been out since last august and my hair still hasnt recovered!

I hate to sound sue-happy but I'd take her to small claims court to get your money back and to get her to cover the costs of your subsequent salon trips you had to make due to the damage she inflicted. I'd also take an ad out in the newspaper blasting her services...is that legal? I'm not sure but if it is I'd do it, I'd give her bad reviews all over the internet too. Make sure she knows you plan to do that if you don't get your $$$.

I agree. The OP should get the problem fixed somewhere else and then demand the hair dresser to pay the costs of remedying the situation and sue in small claims court if she refuses.

Also, there are some consumer protection laws that allow you to collect additional money if you are a consumer and victim of deceptive business practices. For example, in Texas, there is the Deceptive Trade Practices Act that may allow such a victim to collect "treble damages" - multiply your claim times three. You have to show that there was some intentional deception/misrepresentation, though, - like if the hair dresser said she's was an expert at that procedure, and in fact, she has never done it before.

Its too risky. Technically, it is legal as long as it is 100% factually accurate. However, if the hair dresser can show that it wasn't her fault (e.g., the OP had another chemical in her hair that reacted negatively to the chemicals involved in the procedure, or the OP has an unusual scalp condition, etc.) then the OP could be sued for defamation and have to pay the hair dresser's lost sales.

A safer alternative - After the OP files a lawsuit, she can try to get a small-time reporter to publish an article in the local paper about the lawsuit and the allegations in the lawsuit. This would be totally protected because it is merely reporting on a court case.

^ I tried all that to no avail in my situation. I had prominent hair extensionists in my area who are known around the country say they were done wrong and no one would give me my money back! Her only recourse is to go to small claims court and pay the fees but she need credible witnsses to say they were put in incorrectly and its alot of time and money. I just gave up on it because I was losing more hair out of dealing with a salon owner who called me a baby and ungrateful because I wouldnt let the redo the for free! Yeah and lose more hair no thanks and I paid close to 1,000 for my misshap!
