Salon for everything.
I haven't dyed my hair in.. shit. Like 4 years. But I always did it at home apart from one time I went to a snooty salon and they didn't do any better a job than I'd done before.
My hair is creepily it's natural colour right now, completely. Augh!
Get the fuck off my harbl, yo'.

^^^Appreciate it while it's there heehee!

Salon, but my hair is too many diff colours for me to trust anyone but a proffesional.

I'm DIYing it right now. The last time I had it done in a salon. Right now though, I have to work entirely too hard to hand over that amount of money.

My boyfriend's mother does mine w/ box dye. I'm a natural dark muddy blonde who colors it auburn brown so nothing to extreme. The red stays really well in my hair since i have a natural red tone to my hair (found this out when i tried turning my natural hair color lighter...bad mistake!). Been dying my hair this color for 5yrs now.
I use to do it via salon but they never got the color right (more brown then red) and it would wash out 10x faster. Never went back.

If I am just doing a gloss or slight change-at home
If I am doing highlights or drastic change-Salon.
If I am doing multiple colors-Salon

^^^ I'm curious about the gloss - you should show me! :-)
I have mine done professionally. It took me seven stylists in a year to find the current one... now I'm addicted to her. She does a fantastic job!

Color gloss? It's fantastic.
We used to do an Aveda gloss at a salon where I used to work...it was called Elixer and it made even the yuckiest, driest hair shiny and soft.

My friend, a professional hairdresser, does it for me at a discount, although sometimes I go to her salon if she's busy. My hair is naturally super dark and I foil it light blonde...its better this way, although I really could use to save the money.
