    Dizzy Cant lose weight after baby - HELP!!!!!!

    My baby is 6 months old now
    I'm 136 pounds now - 62kg and I need to get back to 115 pounds (around 52kg)

    For the life of me I can't lose this weight - I have been the same weight since I left the hospital after a c-section and haven't dropped any since!

    I do exercise - I was walking with baby as soon as possible after the c - section and then started running (interval training for 25 mins 3 x a week).
    I now pole dance till exhaustion 3 x a week (I used to be an instructor so trying to get my strength back) and play netball once a week. I am also trying unsuccessfully to get my flexibility back with stretching at each workout.

    Food-wise I probably have room for improvement but I don't think I am THAT bad to have not lost any weight at all!! I have a protein shake or museli for brekkie - fruit for morning tea (or no morning tea at all - am just so busy) Salad for lunch with chicken or pita bread with salad greens in them ... dinner is fish and vege or meat and vege and rice if I'm still feeling hungry. I drink about 1.5 lt of water a day as well. I drink alcohol once every 2 weeks

    My partner has been on the same eating plan as me for the last month and has lost two belt sizes!
    I'm just getting frustrated. I have been to get my thyroid checked and had other tests ... everything is fine except I have low blood pressure.
    I have never had to worry about my weight before - I have always been small and just ate well-ish and exercised a few times a week - easy!!

    I don't really have time to do anything too crazy i.e big long involved workouts with lots of different weights/exercises - but if anyone can shed some light on this situation I would very much appreciate it! Could it be just a hormonal thing and I'm just taking a bit longer to lose the extra pounds or do I totally need to change things?

    Maybe check your pita bread ingredients to see if it has yeast in it. Carbs aren't all bad. It's just that the yeasty sugary ones will cause your belly to expand. (This is why "beer belly" exists... yeast + sugar causes dough to rise and bodies to bloat).

    It could be hormonal too, so just tossing some ideas out. Hope this helps some.

    I guess I'm just irritated, as before baby I ate chocolate - normal bread - went out for dinner - drank a few times a week - and I was skinny without even trying!!
    So I just don't understand now that I'm actually trying - why I can't lose!

    I got kind of curious about the low blood pressure/weight connection, so I went a-googling and found this here:

    It struck me because you mentioned that you were pole dancing to exhaustion, which is one of the symptoms of low blood pressure, and with the low BP, the body has more of a tendency to burn muscle. Seems to me like the BP might be a link to how your body is reacting even with the good diet and exercise. Maybe try to get those levels normalized?

    ETA: Hehe, I realized that I said that "pole dancing to exhaustion" was a symptom. The exhaustion I mean, not the pole dancing.

    try indulging in your cravings a bit. Don't over do it, but just relax. I at one time weighed around 240 pounds, I hit a plateau around 180 and sat there for months! What broke my plateau? Relaxing and letting myself have a pastry or two. It worked wonders (and I was thinking to myself, "wow 5 pounds down this week and I ate 4 twinkies!") for me.

    it doesn't look like you're eating that many calories, especially not nearly enough fat. eat more butter! also breastfeed. it increases your calorie needs, making it easier to create a deficit to lose fat.

    More weight training. Running and pole work will cause your body to become catabolic, burning the muscle versus the fat. Increase your fats and protein...do some medium to heavy weight training to rebuild muscle. 6 months and 136 isn't bad at all...you might need more time and you may not get back to 115....just take it easy, do your workout and eat more!

    What's your total alcohol consumption? You mention you drink 2 x per week, of what and HOW much? If you have let's say 6 beers total during the week that's an extra 600 calories at best...Alcohol, even if it's wine or beer has HUGE calories.

    well, shots don't, and light beer, and wine at 4oz a glass instead of the tureens they call goblets these days. shots are around 70 cals per ounce for clear liquor, a little higher for darker ones, and you can use low/no cal mixers like tonic water or club soda. light beer is 100-130 cals, and a proper glass of wine is maybe 120 cals.

    measuring exactly what an ounce of alcohol is and drinking at home really helps moderate intake.

    I used to be able to drink 2x a week - But now drink once every two weeks Mostly wine

    ETA about 4 glasses max

    my son is 6 months, I weighed around 220 when I had him, NO LIE. I was 155 when I got pregnant (and looked great! not what you'd think 155 was!) and i RUN. a mile every other day. if I can every day, great! a mile takes me around 17 minutes because i walk too. i now weight 170 and only have 15 pounds to go. if i can lose that much, so can you! i had a c section as well. YOU CAN DO IT! weight watchers helped me alot.

    Wow! That is an incredible 170lbs! I have seen women who weigh 120lbs and look nothing short of sloppy. Thanks to you I will be adding running to workout regimen after my daughter is born 11 weeks from now. Awesome progress!

    Biancanz, how is your progress coming along at this point?

    Nail on the head here. Your probably not eating eanouph. Try eating every three hours, but only in small amounts. I was loosing weight till a month ago and I was stuffing my face nonstop. I was, however, stuffing it with fresh blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, mellons, and nuts. It might not work for you, but it's worth a shot. I would also add more exercise wear your not getting your heart pumped up, like walking. This wears away weight like no other.

    Thanks for all the advice ladies I ended up going to the doctor and turns out its all medically related why I am not losing anything at the moment. So good news and bad news I guess! Hopefully in another few months it will all start happening!!

    fiber fiber fiber! Fiber helps you go to the restroom and fills up your stomach on fewer calories so you eat less. Fiber powder, raisin bran cereal, fruit, etc. It helps me a lot.

    Are you breastfeeding? I breastfed for 2 years and couldnt loose a lb until I stopped, I am NOT saying stop breastfeeding at all, just curious.

    My son just turned six months last Sunday. I did not start losing weight until I quit breastfeeding at 5 months. I started using jillian michaels 30 day shred and that helped a lot. I gained 50 while pregnant and have lost 40. I am stuck at 120 but I am only 5 feet tall. Good luck!

    I was going to say.. Check your thyroid.. That was my issue.. I developed thyroid disease while I was pregnant, or, well, we found out about it when I was pregnant. Its possible Ive had it for years, but dont have medical insurance and havent caught it I guess....

    Whats the medical issue? If you dont mind me asking, that is.
