Does it change the way you work on those nights?
Does it change the way you work on those nights?
Nope. I take extra vitamin c & drink tons of water.

nope. partly because if i didnt feel well, i didnt go to work (as in if i had a cold, etc. i've worked with broken toes though), and partly because i just didnt care.

Depends on how sick I am. If it just a light cold, then no I don't really give a shit if they get sick or not. Otherwise I will stay home-mostly because I feel bad, not because I care about getting a custy sick.
And it doesnt change the way I work if I go in, other than I might not dance as fast due to cold meds or sinus pain or general lethargy.

Nope. Because chances are I caught that cold from some idiot who came in there, breathed in my face, and didn't give a damn about anything but getting his kicks. Why should I give them the courtesy they don't give me? God I'm bitter!

if he is rude, no. if he is polite, yes. why keep a good customer from making money at work that he can spend in the strip club? also keep in mind, he could bring home whatever you give him to his family, so if you are really sick or contagious, stay home. not to mention a lot of girls share the dressing room and germs flying around can get them sick too.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

The only time I have worked sick was when I first started dancing and worked at the only club in town. If I had gone home they would have fined me 150 bucks, so I had no choice. I hope I got the owner of the club sick, lol. It was also a stage dance club, so it wasn't a big deal.

I hate working when I'm sick. On the road though if you are committed you pretty much have to. If I'm at home though I'll just take the day off.
Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

First time I got super sick on the clock I thought it was just allergies. I ended up giving it to my #1 regular and made him sicker than a dog for a week. I felt soooo bad.

I don't care.. It's managments fault for making me work

I hear you there, Crystal. Management tells you if you don't bring in a doctor's note, you have to pay a $100 dock for every day you miss work that you didn't schedule off ahead of time.
Their logic? "a $100 dock is cheaper than a doctor's visit with no insurance."
Yeah, and paying $20 for a packet of tylenol cold, hot tea and some R&R is a helluva lot cheaper than paying a $100 dock.

Orrrrr they could just not illegally fine you for being sick. That's way cheaper.![]()

Unless you sneeze or cough or share drinks or kiss him (which you shouldn't be doing ANY of these things) then I don't see how you could get them sick.

Do you actually have a source that states that this is illegal?? Cuz I would really love to bring it to management's attention, and as far as I can see on the internet, as independent contractors, we are "contracting a schedule with them and by missing a day of work we are in violation of our contract and subject to fine".
That's what I've read. Please tell me where info on this is.

I'm pretty sure it is. We pay to be there. I don't work at clubs that have schedules anymore. That's pretty much the first thing I ask and will more than likely walk out if they have rules like that. I dance around my other projects, not the other way around.
I found a site about it, and I know club Onyx in Atlanta was being sued for high house fees and fines, but I can't remember where I saw the site. My friend was contacted about the law suit with Onyx.
I can understand adhering to a schedule, but if you are SICK or injured you can't pay 150 bucks to stay out. That's counter-productive.

They waive the fee if we have a doctor's note, but the doctor's note has to excuse us for the entire time we're out, and if we have to take more time off, we have to have a doctor's note extending the time off.

^Thats shitty.I have a firm belief that I got into dancing so I could work for myself and not have to deal with stupid rules. If a club isn't accommodating then I just move on.

Uh, I don't work when I'm sick. Common sense?
I worry if he's a good customer, because I think of every good customer as a potential regular. I wouldn't want to lose out on a potential good regular because he suspects (and rightfully so) that I got him sick. If he's a bad customer, I don't care because I wouldn't want him as a regular anyway. But I do try not to work if I think I'm contagious, because it's also not fair to the other girls to expose them. I'm strongly in the camp that nobody should have to work sick, no matter what they do, because that is what makes everybody else sick.
