Question Will, Can YOU please help?

    Hi Will,

I posted a thread two weeks ago solicting advice for getting back in shape post pregnancy and had many views but not replies. I noticed that you seem to be very helpful and informative so I opted to ask you for advice directly.

Im currently 28 weeks pregnant with my second child. I gave birth to my first child last summer.

So far I have gained 22lbs, so by the end of my pregnancy I will more than likely have gained 34lbs.

I have a two 15lb weights here at my home and was curious if I could use one of them to do squats and lunges and if so how many would be okay. I also have a jump rope that I was curious whether or not I could use and if so for how long. If I cant do any of these things, is there anything I can do to excercise for the remainder of my pregnancy. My doctor hasnt restricted me from excersing but isnt really helpful on advising me on what I can do.

I also would like any suggestions on excersises that I can do at home since I will not have access to a gym or gym equipment and two small children to care for. I know I will not be supermodel ready after two but I would at least like to have a flat stomach and a nice ROUND butt.

I returned to work 5 weeks after birth last pregnancy but Im planning to return between 8-12 weeks after birth since I have a little more lienecy this go round.

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this. I really appreciate it.
The worst they can say is no.

A couple of 15lb dumbells and jump rope is a start and better then nothing, but very limiting in your exercise choices. Sure, you can do squats, lunges, etc, etc with the dumbells, push ups, dumbell rows, shoulders, curles, push ups, etc for a routine. You can find vids on the net of all those exercises. However, with an investment in a TRX Suspension trainer, you open up a ton of great exercises and programs that can be done at home:

I have mentioned the TRX here before in various threads.

With a wider selection of dumbells (5-25lbs) a TRX Trainer, and say an exercise ball, now you have the ability to get an effective whole body workout that will keep you challenged. etc.

Will, thank you. The TRX isnt as expensive as I thought but I definitely will have to wait to get it when I have a little more financial resource.

I will definitely work on getting an excercise ball though.

I refuse to believe that I have to give up my pre-pregnancy body just because I had two little ones.

Get yourself a sandbag from sandbag fitness systems:

    Sandbags

Again, tons of exercises that can be done for little $$$ with minimum space and high productive.

I have never even seen this before. I like this better than the TRX.

Thank you so much! Now I have great ideas on how to get back to pre-pregnancy shape.

I still have 12 weeks before my daughter is born, so my goal right now is to maintain healthy pregnancy weight so it wont be as hard of a battle to get back to pre-pregnancy shape.

I still havent found the scale number that looks good in the mirror, so Im just going to watch as go and see what I like the most.
