    Default Nails

I'm just wondering, what does everyone do for their nails? I've heard all fake nails are bad. What are your experiences? What different kinds of fake nails are there?

I'm switching to a hustle club from a peepshow, and honestly, at the peepshow barely anyone did a thing to their nails (a few girls didn't do anything to their faces either). I have just been painting mine to make sure they look clean and well taken care of, but I know this might not be the best for a hustle club. Is this true?

I do acrylics and he upkeep is freakin annoyingly expensive. Some of the girls at my club do stick ons but I've never tried them and they's probably pop off while doing pole work.

Try to avoid false nails if you can. I used false nails on my fingers and toes for a high heels shoot...and they were an absolute pig to get off. There's no good nail glue remover anywhere...so after getting some of it off with neat acetone, I ended up having to grow the rest of it out naturally....which took weeks.

Nothing beats a good manicure and pedicure...and a decent varnish on YOUR OWN nails!!

    Hey!

Try Shellac. It's a new polish that DOESN'T HURT your nail and lasts a FULL 14 days or MORE ! I started a thread about it in body business. It's AMAZING. My mani has been perfect for 11 or so days now !

I'm a sucker for the acrylics but they are so expensive and are bad for your nails. I recently took mine off and I will probably just get a mani every few weeks.

I take a Biotin supplement, and usually paint them an understated color. I don't mess with my nails, & truth be told, a lot of guys don't like the fake ones. I also work in a high hustle club.

At a dive in sorta place where I worked, most girls didnt do their nails
At another place, more high end, I noticed almost all the girls have their nails done, fake or not, still something colored, painted or designed.

I prefer gels, Its not that I do not like my nails, I just find it a pain in the ass to re-do manicures, and I dont like the acrylics that go full over the nail. I always get a full set within a month and never re fills cause they look worse. Plus I like to let my nails take a break for a week and then onto a full set again.

Nails always make me distracted and I like to play with them while Im bored and since I dont like touching custies I like to grip their shoulder/neck with my fake just in case to keep them in place. So do try the fakies.. go to a good place, Get gels or fiber/silk ones which are a bit better than a whole nail-on acrylic

I had acrylics for about 6 months, and while I did love them, I got fed up with the upkeep. Not so much the cost, but the annoyance of having to go the nail salon every 2 - 3 weeks.

I am almost done letting them grow out. I had no visible nail damage because I didn't remove them, just cut them off then let them grow out on my nails. It looks kind of nasty if you look close, but no one has noticed (or commented) yet, and it hasn't affected my money at all.

acrylics done in a salon look good for about 3 days and then look awful until you get them filled again every 2 or 3 weeks--and it's super bad for your nails. they practically saw them down and use a bunch of chemicals to cement them to your nail. yuck. plus they ruin your natural nail. i had them for about a year and it's been 4 months and my real nails are still recovering.

HOWEVER--- i DO love the glue on nails you can buy at the drugstore or at WalMart. They honestly look better than salon nails and if you buy the right glue, they can last 14 days before they start to pop off. i use the KISS everlasting nail glue (it costs about 2 bucks) and its a miracle. it's all in how you apply the nail. there are tons of good youtube videos on how to apply glue-on nails correctly.

I buy the broadway nails with a french tip + rihenstones and glitter on the end. they are about $4 and I put a new pair on every 14 days. everyone thinks I get them done at the most high-end salon in town and spend a fortune on my nails!! not the case. Just buy a pretty pair of glue on nails (recommended brands--Nailene, Broadway, and KISS) and the kiss everlasting nail glue. watch a youtube video on how to put them on correctly and you will be good to go!! it only takes about 10 minutes which is also great. I hated spending an hour or more at the nail salon.

to take them off--there are more youtube videos on this too. it is really easy and takes about 10 minutes to take off. buy some dixie cups and nail polish remover, that's all you need.

the glue on nails haven't damaged my real nails at all, since there is no "drilling". it is a surface application.

    SO IN CONCLUSION

glue on nails look better, cost less, take less time, and are better (healthier) for your nails. they are all around better and I am never turning back!!

No problem!! Kind of rambly but I can never find the right words for anything....

but basically as long as you get good nails (Broadway, kiss, or nailene)

    plus the right glue

    plus the right application

    they are a miracle!!

    ^ Haha! LOL

I second what Zippy said - I LOVE my Gel nails. Chemicals or not, they look amazing. They stay looking great for about 3 weeks with me - my natural nails grow really slow. Plus they're a great weapon!

I may try the glue ons then! I have issues with the nail technicians leaving bubbles in my acrylics or imperfections in my natural nails showing through the acrylic if I have clear polish/french done.

I think what I get are acrylics with a layer of gel over the polish. I'm going to have them removed though, I go through love-hate relationships with them. It always seems like they only look great for a few days then they just get nasty looking. I also hate going in for the filling appointments so I tend to put it off, so then they look really shitty. I had them off for a while but then got them done for camming since my hands were photographing so ugly, but I'm going to have a take a 2 month break from camming coming up and I'll be having surgery, I assume I can't have fakes... so these babies are coming off for a while thank god!! I also think I might have fungus under there...does anyone know how I can tell for sure??

I'm taking mine off for female wrestling when and if I still do it. I don't think acrylics are a good idea for wrestling, even if it is only erotic. Breaking those suckers hurts!

I'm never getting acrylics! Thanks for the advice ladies!

I have a question about KISS, is there are certain size to get? I tried them, and accidentally bought Medium. They are sooo long! I do not want 1" nails! Haha, I would totally rip someones face or one of my fingers off.

Totally going to try Shellac polish. I'm really excited about this, my nail polish always chips off! Going to thread... NOW!

They sell them in short and also very short which will probably work better for you. I like the long nail look so I always buy medium, but short to very short is like "real" fingernail length, which would look great on you and also fit your needs a lot better! should have thought of that. It's easy to miss but it should say on the box what the length is. If applied correctly, these glue on nails can last up to 2 weeks--mine do because I've been using them for like 3 months now cuz I've gotten the hang of it. Your first pair may only last a week, your second pair a week and a half, and then by your third attempt you should have gotten the hang of it to apply them correctly.

Awesome. Yeah I was looking at all the boxes and thought they were all the same so I just grabbed a random one. Once I got home I spotted the size. I'm gonna go grab some extra short ones! Thank you!

Also, just for daily wear are there any favorite polishes or top coats you girls like? (I know, I don't seem to run out of questions)

I couldn't agree more. The secret is in getting the right glue that doesn't screw up your natural nails, and applying it properly so that you can get off easily afterwards.

False nails really look the nazz!

as for polish, what I've observed is it doesn't matter what brand it is, what matters is how old it is... I have bought Chanel polish, essie, OPI, all the big brands etc, and have also bought cheap brands from walmart and I personally have found they all work the same. Just put on a clear top coat to make the polish last longer. the older they get, the chunkier the formula gets and the more it chips. so just buy a few polishes and use them up until they are gone, then buy new ones so that you are always using fresh polish. if you get old of your polish do an at-home mani-pedi date with a friend and share polishes! That's what I do, at least

This is a really good point. It's a bit like painting window frames...it's the quality of the preparation that makes the finish look good!

I always put an undercoat on first (usually a lighter or translucent shade of the topcoat), then 2 coats of fresh top-colour, and finish it off with a good quality gloss varnish with a hard finish. It looks great and it can last for 2 or 3 weeks.

^ My post about this is in body business. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with the results! 14 days later and they still look great !
I've posted links about the product and a salon finder link in the thread. I had to share - it's a dancers dream product.

I'm going back to the salon tomorrow because I want them shortened and cleaned up ( you can see regrowth at bottom ), but they actually look great still and I could stretch it another 5 days probably if I wanted to.
