Thumbs up Amateur nights when you don't have parties booked?

Do you do amateur nights on days you don't have any parties booked?

Let's say, Tuesday night there are no parties booked cuz it's kind of an oddball night. Do you go to an amateur night to try to make some money or to just get some experience? Do you pass out business cards of your private party agency?

Just curious. It could be a completely bad idea but I was just thinking of doing amateur nights on nights there are no parties booked if I'm bored and I'm wondering what is ok and what is not ok. And what is different in clubs than in private parties.

    Thanks a bunch!

I generally did amateur nights either to get into a club or to make extra money. Most of the clubs won't allow anyone to pass out business cards or fliers because they'll think of it as competition. One time I did try this (had a friend pass out cards) and he got kicked out.

Yeah well I think that it really has a big difference between private parties and night club parties cause in the night club.,.,its really public and too crowded .,.,but in the private parties .,.,you can enjoy really the parties what will you do no one knows...

thats true... I talked to my bf and he said that he'd rather me just do private parties since I make more money doing that and it's less likely I'd be seen by someone... so I'm just gonna stick with that. I love doing private parties!!

Yea private parties seem to make better money. Amatuer nights seem to always be hit or miss.

I don't do amatuer nights where I am just because I don't have a party booked. Most clubs here require a 3 month commitment or so before you get the prize money. That's not worth it for prizes that are only a few hundred.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I always assumed that the winner would never even see those prices (like 200, 500$ whatever amount) and that they have one of their dancers "win" or something like that.. Am I wrong?

It depends. I came in second place at a Deja Vu and got the money. Other clubs, like mentioned above have these stipulations. Among those is you have to win other competitions or agree to work there. Many of these contests are rigged and often a dancer wins.

Especially if it's an amateur night based on applause; no matter how bad a girl danced, if a girl brought enough friends with her, she'd win.
