Default Going to work after a REALLY bad breakup?

I broke up with my 3 years boyfriend yesterday. Im very hurt at this moment. I called off work yesterday.

What are some things you do to avoid an emotional breakdown at work?

Right now, I'm feeling very sad, depressed, discouraged, and a low self esteem. I can't imagine going in to work at all. But if I don't, I will have no money to pay my bills..as i live on my own.

Is there any self help type of breakup website?. any advices would be great. He is my first love, and 2nd boyfriend. Very hard it seems. How you guys get over it and learn to live on your own?

I'm sorry I do find that going to work makes me feel better because it's money in my hands at the end of the night. Sometimes work can lift up your self esteem because customers are in awe of you or because you can take out your frustrations through work and not give a shit and make a lot of money.

I think when you are earning money and taking care of yourself again, you're going to feel better. If you stay home sad with no distractions, it will make things worse. I'm really, really sorry though. I've also PM'd you.

awww, thanks everyone. I just got to ride it thru. And start concentrating on one thing, MONEY. For the longest time, I've been so emotionally involved with him...that I feel bad stripping. But he is an asshole, so fuck him.

^Hell yah!!! HELL yah. I love your attitude, I love that you're being as strong as you can. I know its tough. In this world, all you ever have to depend on is yourself. You owe it to yourself to be strong... Breakups suck but we all go through trials and tribulations in our lives. You do whatever you need to do to be happy. Take care of yourself. Its hard but you'll make it through. Hang in there babe! I'm rootin' for you.

This site was really helpful to me!!! I went through a situtation almost identical to yours!!!

(Especially #5- writing the NEGATIVE things about your partner is almost therapeutic, because I know whenever I thought about my ex I would always get depressed/sad but that's because I was only remembering the GOOD times between us. The cute things he said or did, etc. But by writing the bad things he did, it really helps put things in a realistic perspective. I guess that's why they say when you're in love it's like looking through rose colored glasses!)

Also blaring the song "It's Alright, It's OK" by Ashley Tisdale...it's like the perfect break up anthem.

Good luck hun! I know I struggled going between "Oh well, fuck him, I can find better, etc." and reverting back to "I miss him, I feel so lonely, etc." but that website helped wonderfully.
