Is it normal for lip filler to feel like it's inside the mouth instead of on the visible portion of the lips?

Yes, completely normal. You can try massaging the lumps, but honestly they will kind of be there to some degree, it's just something you have to deal with. Juvederm is not very lumpy though, Resty was much worse for me. You probably are swollen too. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
I'm not as much worried about the lumpiness (since it can't be seen). I'm mainly worried that the injector didn't, erm, inject correctly and I"m worried that some of the product got wasted bc it's plumping an area that can't be seen. Does this make sense?
J.D. - wanted to thank you again for posting pics on another thread that I started. You def helped me make the decision to get my lips done, and I love it!

lol that's what it feels like to me too. I always fell like they're cheating me somehow so I end up buying more
I wanted to elaborate on this.... you may feel like the plumping is not visible, but you have to think of it like this, even if it feels deeper, it is still plumping more because the way your lips sit against your teeth, they will be sticking out more, but from a different angle, I know this sounds confusing, but my injector explained all this to me one time. She does some of the product deep, and some superficial to give a more 3-D result. For example, she injects very superficially on my cupids bow and outer rim of my lips (lip liner area) and ALSO on the water line, where my lips touch in the middle when they are relaxed, so it gives an all over result when it's all said and done. Don't fret, I remember you posting FOREVER asking about lips, I'm so happy you finally had it done! I'm sure with all your concerns on here, you sought out a reputable injector, and he or she had a skilled technique in place.![]()

Makes sense..
