Default Fitness and Being a Newbie in General!

Hi everyone! I've been reading these boards for a few days now when it actually occurred to me that I could post on them too (duh!), so I thought I'd say hi and ask a few questions of my own.
First off, I've been really thinking of getting into dancing for a short amount of time now. I have a club in mind that I want to audition at, hoping to go in the middle of next week and apply. It's a 2 hour drive away from where I live, but like a lot of girls, I want to dance "under the radar" and the chance that someone I know would come into the club if I worked here in town is extremely high. I was attracted to it because it's a topless club (on stage, at least) rather than full nude like most clubs in my area, and also because the type of girls they generally hire seem to be the "natural beauty" type, without a lot of tattoos, piercings, etc. (Which describes me, so I feel I would fit in a bit better.) One problem....I have no idea what the girls there are making?? I can't do the whole "go in and visit as a customer" thing because I am literally sooo broke I don't have the money to tip any of the girls or anything like that, and also no guy friends I could go with without it being awkward, haha. I've seen people all over this board talking about the economy, and how it's really hard to make a decent living as a dancer these days - is that really true? And do you think a place like this might not be very popular in a state where full nude clubs are the norm? I would hate to get into it and find it isn't worthwhile to spend my time dancing there all night + the $20/day it would cost me in gas alone just to drive there and back and go even further into debt than I already am!
Also, I'm really worried about the whole fitness aspect of it. I try to get to the gym every day and do at least 30 minutes - 1 hour of cardio, but I just bought my heels yesterday and practiced dancing and walking in them for just 15 - 20 minutes or so, and my legs are SORE today! Also, when I was practicing last night, I was actually sweating and a little tired after only one song! Is this normal?? I'm worried I won't be able to make it through an entire night working with lap dances, being on stage, and just walking around to talk to customers in general. Work ethic is extremely important to me in any job, and I definitely do NOT want to be that girl who spends all night sitting at the bar or in the dressing room cuz her legs hurt or she's too tired to dance.
I'm also kinda worried about the work environment and being new. I've heard a lot of stories on here about the other dancers being really bitchy, etc. Does anyone have any really good tips on how to handle this? I'm a really nice, sweet person who avoids confrontation and trash talking as much as possible, so I'm not sure how well I would do in an environment like that. I'm afraid it could really bring me down after a while....and the tip "just keep to yourself" seems kind of disappointing to me, because I'm a very social person!
Last thing....a lot of girls here have been saying "my first lap dance sucked," etc. because there is that learning curve when you're new. Do customers actually comment on that stuff, or remember you later on as "that girl who didn't know how to give a lap dance" and avoid you or not want a dance from you in the future? I'm okay with learning on the job, but I don't deal well with rejection at all, and would find it really hard for me if that happened! (Plus, I hate to disappoint, even as a newbie.
Sorry this is so long.....but thank you vets sooo much for answering! Hopefully one day I can be in your shoes and help the other newbies as well.

    Welcome welcome!

You don't want to fit in, you want to stand out. I promise this. If every girl at another club has a tattoo of some sort, and you have none, you WILL get noticed and get more dances.

One problem....I have no idea what the girls there are making?? I can't do the whole "go in and visit as a customer" thing because I am literally sooo broke I don't have the money to tip any of the girls or anything like that, and also no guy friends I could go with without it being awkward, haha. I've seen people all over this board talking about the economy, and how it's really hard to make a decent living as a dancer these days - is that really true?

Yes, and no. For some vets on here they were used to coming home with a consistent $800 a night. Going from that to the $200-$300 nightly that most seem to be averaging now is a major dip in their earnings, over half. It has to do with perspective. As a newbie, you won't make much starting out, once you get used to dancing your earnings with climb. Making $200 in an 8-hour shift is money you're not likely to earn anywhere else....as long as you can get over the part about needing to take your clothes off to do the job.

And do you think a place like this might not be very popular in a state where full nude clubs are the norm?

It's probably not going to be popular if other strip clubs in town are full nude. Custys want the most bang for their buck - everyone does - so if there's a place down the street that does full nude dances then you're not going to get as many customers (this is provided that BOTH clubs serve alcohol - if the nude place only has a juice bar, then the topless bar is most likely to have better business in comparison).

I would hate to get into it and find it isn't worthwhile to spend my time dancing there all night + the $20/day it would cost me in gas alone just to drive there and back and go even further into debt than I already am!

You really have to spend money to make money in this business. But you should have it all back by the end of the week.

It's normal. Your body will adjust, you will build muscle and get used to it. Promise.

As for sitting at the bar all night or in the dressing room - don't. Push yourself to keep going. Bear in mind that you'll be off such a high from the money you're making that you'll be making that you won't notice the burn in your legs and butt.

I'm also kinda worried about the work environment and being new. I've heard a lot of stories on here about the other dancers being really bitchy, etc. Does anyone have any really good tips on how to handle this?

KEEP TO YOURSELF! It's annoying when newbies try and chat you up in the dressing room when you're just rushing around trying to get ready. If they introduce themselves, then tell them your dancer name and be nice, but that's it.

A stripclub is NOT the place to be social with other girls. You'll regret it. In time you'll realize who's sweet vs who's sour and form a comrade with a few girls. In the mean you don't want to piss off the wrong dancer. Keep your mouth shut and flirt with the guys. Thats what you're there for.

Last thing....a lot of girls here have been saying "my first lap dance sucked," etc. because there is that learning curve when you're new. Do customers actually comment on that stuff, or remember you later on as "that girl who didn't know how to give a lap dance" and avoid you or not want a dance from you in the future?

Yep! Tons of topics about this is you use the search function. Your first dance is bound to be shitty and the guy probably won't buy more than 2. Not much you can do about that....once you get comfortable you'll get better with the dances. You can try practicing at home but not much will prepare you for your first real dance with a strange man.

I'm okay with learning on the job, but I don't deal well with rejection at all, and would find it really hard for me if that happened! (Plus, I hate to disappoint, even as a newbie.

Then you need to grow a thicker skin babe.

Sorry this is so long.....but thank you vets sooo much for answering! Hopefully one day I can be in your shoes and help the other newbies as well. I hope so too. Good luck!

    Hope I could help!
