    Dizzy Multiple Regulars

So, this is something that always stresses me out.

When you are working a slow night and you have two regulars come in at once, what do you do?

It freaks me out because I want to make them both happy and make money from both of them. A lot of the time we talk for a while before going to the VIP and during that time the other often tries to grab my attention. When waving and the "one moment" sign isn't enough, how do you let the other know that you are still happy to see him and happy to have him as a customer?

I just can't seem to keep the balance. I don't want to push them too hard to go back to VIP with me sooner, because sometimes that loses me the dances. I also don't want to keep the other waiting too long and lose the dances from him. It's especially hard when one wants to buy and hour or more of my time and I'm leaving the other one in an empty club.

    What do you do?

First, determine which regular you think will 1) take the longest and 2) be the most patient. If one of your regulars is very impatient and only wants a couple of dances, then walk up to the other guy and say "Hey, I'm soooo sorry, but this other guy really wants a dance with me. Do you mind if I do that first so I can spend time with you later? I'm reaalllly looking forward to talking to you!"

If both of them are patient, then just pick the one you'd like to dance for first and explain the situation to the other guy. When explaining, make it seem like the first guy is just a job, and the second guy is the one you actually want to spend time with. Anyone with any sense of social grace will understand.

The problem is, most of the time when this happens, the are both the other guy. They both want my full attention to talk for a while and then spend a while dancing. When it is a matter or a quick sale and a long haul, it's obviously the quick one first. I'm frazzled when they are both the long haul kinds of guys and both impatient.

^ How often do you work? Why not tell one that you work on one day, and the other that you work on another day?

Or even space them out throughout the night. Tell him "Hey, (x:00) is when I usually have a lot of time that I can spend with you...I'd love to see you then!" and then give the other guy another time.

I try to do that. I usually work about 4 nights a week.

Thinking on it, it's really the same two guys that always give me this problem. They both just like to drop in, which is nice for my wallet, but odd for a schedule.

Do guys ever feel like they are being blown off when you advise them to come another time?

When I had my friends/regulars come in at the same time, I'd just get a booth and we'd all sit together. I'd have a close friend or two come over also and we'd make it a little party.
I don't know how effective it was, but I always made money and then my girlfriend(s) would have some extra cash in their pocket too.

It seemed to work, that way when I danced for one guy, he wasn't left alone. Sometimes, we'd bring the party to the back and just switch girls so we all made money. Those were fun days.

Yeah, but the club was like my family.

I don't really have any regulars out here yet, and if that happened out here, I dunno what I'd do because I kinda just keep to myself now.

Ya, I try to keep other women away from my big sources of income, not bring them in to "share" my profits. If he wants another girl, then that's fine, but I'm not going to suggest it.

I guess with guys like that, you just can't make them both happy. Eventually I'll get to them I guess.

Take the most high maintenance one first.

The least demanding out of the two is probably more understanding.

I've had to tell one custy that I had to talk to another customer that is waiting real quick. It's rare that I do that and usually a last resort, but I explain to them what's going on and they are usually okay with it.

Trust me a majority of loyal regulars will wait a long time for you.

Honestly, I would probably stay with whomever came in first. I mean I don't really know how guys feel about this kind of thing, but I know I would be pissed off if I came in first and somebody told me "Oh oh, my other customer is here, I'll be right back."

I think it's okay to be like, "Guy who got here first, I'm gonna run and say hello to John over there. Sorry! I just know if I don't do it he's going to come over here and then we'll BOTH be stuck talking to him! wink "

Then when you got to "John" I would just be like, "Hi honey. Bear with me for a minute, Guy who got here first got here a while before you did and he allready paid me for some time so it's going to be a little while. You understand right? Thanks babe. Next time you have to start getting here earlier so I don't get "stuck" with him "

That way, you've sort of conveyed to them that THEY are your favorite, and the other one's kind of a loser. That's good because then they won't be intimidated by that guy or mad if you are dancing for them.

I also wouldn't leave money early to make money somewhere else, if that makes sense. Like if the regular wants to do a two hour VIP I wouldn't be like "Oh I can only do an hour" just because another guy was waiting. HOWEVER I think that the second you are done with the VIP and done making money, maybe leave the VIP room, finish your drink, then give guy number one a hug and move right on two number two.

If this is a big problem, have you thought about having them set "appointments" with you?

I like this way of phrasing things, though perhaps the "teaching him his lesson" might not go over well. Like, who's this bitch to tell me that I need to get here earlier?

All in all though, I like that! Thanks!
