    Default camer, computer, connection

I have a older computer and will be upgrading. I would like a laptop so I can cam in any room in my house. I have a logitech 9000 webcam that I am planning on using with the laptop. I know they will work together. I guess my question is why do some of the girls video drag. Is it bad camera, computer, or connection? I just don't want to get the laptop if the video will be dragging. It looks so horrible.

It could be a combination of all three. Any one of those things can make your video lag.

Get a laptop with as much RAM and as good a video card as you can afford. As a bonus, a decent sound card would be good too but not essential.
Get the fuck off my harbl, yo'.

For video encoding, you're going to want enough RAM and a decent CPU. Anything recent that's name brand and not bottom of the barrel should work fine. Other than that, make sure you've got good solid bandwidth, both into your house and between your WAP and your laptop.

Not all new(ish) laptops work great for camming. When I cam on my laptop, the video drags horribly and looks choppy, so I have to use my boyfriend's computer instead. Incidentally, I also have trouble watching Youtube and other videos... they tend to freeze and buffer constantly.

I have a year-old Toshiba with Intel Core Dual CPU (or something) and 3GB RAM. Perhaps it is the video card that sucks, I don't know.

That should be plenty of both. The other possible source of problems is limitations in the system bus and interrupt arrangements, but manufacturers get that right nowadays; I would have expected better from Toshiba. Make sure whatever you get has a return policy, so if it doesn't do what you need it to, you can return it for something that does.
