I had two bunions...HUGE, the doctor called em WHOPPERS. LOL I have always been self conscious about my feet, and could never wear pretty heels because it looked like I had a 6th toe! Not to mention they are quite painful.
So I finally took the time to had the one on my right foot, the biggest one, removed. I was put to sleep --was sooo nice-- and could only hear what was going on--quite entertaining, but I was too out of it to participate. My doctors were funny. LOL Anyway... They cut out the bone, well, shaved it down, broke my big toe, placed a screw in it, and stitched it back up. I stayed in recovery about 30 minutes and left. For about 2 hours my foot was so numb from the block, that we even stopped at a car lot and test drove a car I wanted...then headed to the pharmacy for my Lortab 7.5 2T q4-6 hrs prn pain. Once we got home I was in excruciating pain.I couldnt go to the bathroom because that meant my foot was not elevated anymore, and Tony tried and tried to help me, all I could do was scream and cry. But I managed and have been sleeping out here on this couch with my foot elevated on the back of the couch for 3 nights. Tony is so uncomfortable sleepin on the couch, but he slept right next to me, which was quite comforting for me. 3 days post op, doc unwrapped my foot yesterday and I saw for the first time. It looked like SHREK! lol Very very swollen, and orange from the Betodine.... (?) But doc said its healing well.
The girls have been very helpful...and poor Ahrie saw me getting sick --because no appetite, but still was taking pain Med-- and freaked out and called Tony at work and said hurry up come home my mommy is sick. They are very sympathetic, and dont complain about all my requests for help. They think its quite funny.
I cant wait to finally wear my sexy heels and not feel like people are lookin down at my huge bump and crooked toe. BUT--before that happens, I gotta get the left foot done...
I must say...using crutches is surely goin to tone my left leg and left booty cheek. Try bathing, washing ur face, doing ur hair, brushin teeth, doin make-up...all on one foot. YAY! LOL
Well, thats my bunionectomy story! lol Obviously, Im excited.![]()
