im sure she work very hard, and has alot of money and success to show for it...that is very respectable. in fact, the comment i made about the makeup (a reference to another thread where JD said she doesnt buy "cheap" drugstore makeup) was an allusion to the fact that JD is financially succesful. however, the problem is when someone making good money claims (in her 1st post on this thread) that she "totally uses the system when she can"...which would require underreporting income in order to qualify if shes using aide programs currently. i have no probs with JD or any of u other girls makin your money, until it means lying bout income to qualify for handouts that i have to pay for. (work...millions on welfare depend on me!)
now im outta this thread for good so carry on, everyone, and have a good nite.
You don't have to be financially successful to buy decent department store makeup. I have been using the same makeup since high school! Maybe because I've always worked instead of sitting around and playing the victim, crying about my life, feeling sorry for myself and blaming other people for my misfortunes. (unlike you!) Second of all, I never and am not currently using any government aide programs. Never been on disability, welfare, unemployment, nothing. I meant take advantage of the system in other ways, that have nothing to do with aide programs and that I'd rather not talk about on here because someone might run off and report me!![]()

I just think people should mind their own business. This is coming from someone that dosen't use the system for anything...due to laziness. I rather pay for all this shit than stand in that long ass line downtown. I hate waiting .. I refuse to wait for such. However, My sister gets food stamps and medicaid and she's well off.. The systems needs to be fucked tbh.

JD, if u do not use govt aide, then i misunderstood u and i take back what i said bout u abusing the system. and for myself, dont worry bout me becuz i have a fulltime job im very happy with (wasnt always that way..recession did a number on my last career so i changed occupations) not a victim at all...never remember blamin anyone except the welfare cheats for the reason taxes are so high in my city (although im far from the only city resident who feels that way LMFAO). i complain on here bout welfare abuse and things i dont agree with becuz im one of those blunt people who says how i feel bout things. ok now im outta this thread for real this time. keep on keepin on!

Congrats!![]()
Not sure if it's wise to chip in here, but what the hell...
I can see both sides of this argument.
I don't know that it's a great idea to rain on someone's parade, but the OP did come on here and set herself for being bashed earlier. I deplore people who take advantage of social programs, to be honest.
I probably would have bit my lip, but a part of me is kind of glad someone else said it.

I had to go back and find out the story of the op because I actually forgot. However you reminded me of something awhile back. There have been several stories of people dancing and using the system. I remember a story where a dancer was pregnant and engaged. She was waiting to have her big fancy wedding so she could go on welfare and later on have her fancy wedding. Her thinking was so Medicaid would pay for her. Then there was another story (different poster I think, I don't think any of them were the op) who was also pregnant, had a dancing job and a regular job but quitting both so she could stay at home with her baby and collect welfare. There was yet ANOTHER story of a dancer who was getting welfare, and was bragging about her spending $300 on outfits I think (not anyone in this thread btw). See, stories like these make people like us mad who have to pay for them. I don't want to pay for people who fraud the system. I get wanting the fancy wedding (I do too) but if one can't afford it, then do it later and instead save the money for a cheap wedding now. I've gotten flack from several for turning in people with welfare fraud and I am proud of it. I'll continue to turn in people who fraud it because it means we pay more and those who need it are less likely to receive because of the freeloading leeches.
wow i just wanna say CONGRATS goldi, havin a baby is the best thing that ever happened to me!!! you will do great, sounds like you have a kickass attitude and the right amount of energy that it will take to raise a child...
in regards to the totally bullshit direction that this thread went..what the eff?! i've NEVER received any kind of financial aid, medicaid, welfare, food stamps or anything...and my son will be 3. shit, i don't even get child support! not because i made super-awesome money dancing (i only ever danced part-time, and seasonally) but because i've been self-employed for 5 years, i hate the red tape involved in getting govt handouts, and i am uncomfortable with the amount of time that it takes to get what amounts to a negligible amount of cash..... the time i spent filling out paperwork and waiting in line, i could be making cashola any number of legit ways. so personally milking the system is not for me.... (yet? maybe i'll start!)
HOWEVER...that said, i do not blame anyone for getting what they can from our wack corrupt system, regardless of whether or not they have a rich spouse or make bunches of money at the club (a massive % of which also goes to taxes, and to line the pockets of owners/managers). so what if they can afford a nice house, makeup, or whatever. jealous much? i believe there's a special place in hell for people like kthx and kellydancer who think they're so righteous and above it all, especially over hard-working women doing whatever else it takes to support a family and a certain lifestyle. i too pay taxes...i too have disabled family members. i too have a family that i feed with 100% EARNED money....doesn't mean i'd rat out any dancer that gets a penny over what you think she deserves... christ. you two live in a complete middle-class suburban tattletale bubble. the real world is made up of people who kill, lie and steal and otherwise be evil to get what they want, when they want. THOSE are the people you should be sniffing out and making phone calls about! a dancer who gets a little stash of cash, has a baby and decides to get some food stamps, or medical insurance for her newborn child, or some aid for school, deserves every scrap of that money, no matter what you think. >8(

.
If someone is frauding the system they AREN'T SUPPORTING THEIR FAMILY, NOR ARE THEY HARD WORKING! If they want a certain lifestyle, then work for it! Common sense to everyone except freeloaders who think they deserve what others have.
I will continue to be, as you put it, righteous and if there's a special place in hell for people who don't want to support freeloaders, I hope there is one for the freeloaders who think because they have kids they are "hardworking".
wowwww. i leave for a couple days after giving a personal update for the few chicks on here that actually supported me.. and i come back to some irrelevant bullshit? ahha. The bitches at the club were mad at taxes? no, more like jealous and insecure with there own situations, enough to not be genuinely happy for me. FOR THE RECORD: medi-cal covers my PREGNANCY for free. but BECUZ I WAS HONEST ON MY APPLICATION, I DIDNT QUALIFY FOR MEDICAID SO ANYTHING NON PREGNANCY RELATED IS ABOUT 1,500 A MONTH. how dare you make assumptions. I DID FILE MY TAXES EVEN THO I ONLY DANCED FOR 5 MONTHS. im a pastry chef and wedding cake designer of 5 years, worked at the #11 company in the NATION to work for, so ive been filing taxes since i was 16. Being ignorant and assuming shit wont get you very far in life.
to the ladies who arent on some bullshit: thanks for the comments and back up. i love all you guys. only 3 more months to go ;]
oh, and aint nobody taking advantage or "Working the system" over here. The only reason i brought up medi-cal a few months ago, was becuz i new i couldnt afford health care and i wasnt married yet. (thats what the state is for, to help 'single' women who are pregnant and cant afford it) and I PAY MY FUCKING TAXES EVERY YEAR so im entitled to getting that help if i need it. i dont get food stamps, WIC, none of that shit. i do wedding cakes on the side now, and have been for years.. so im still hustlin to make it work for my new family.. even tho i could just apply for welfare like some lazy fucks. i dont appreciate ppl making assumptions about my life, not knowing any of the details and making it seem like im some statistic. i work hard, even going on 7 months pregnant, trying to sustain a business from home, being a new wife, and preparing for the biggest change of my life. so fuck off.
we moved from a 1600 square foot loft @ $1,975 a month to a 850 square foot house @ $1400 so my husband could pay rent alone. thats a DOWNGRADE wouldnt you say? do you know what it costs to raise a baby? to run a household? do you know how much money you need to actually live off of? i guess not, cuz apparently you think i just had hella money to throw away..when you go from having the best insurance in the world to not having ANY AT ALL, AND YOU FIND OUT UR PREGNANT, with NO HEALTH care.... I GUARANTEE THE FIRST THING ON YOUR MIND IS "omg, i need prenatal care, i need to get medi-cal, i need to make sure my baby will be taken care of" and if you can afford to pay 1,500-2000 a month in HEALTHCARE ALONE, plus ur other living expenses, good for you. but after only dancing for 5 months and before that, only making 10.00 an hour.. i COULD NOT. and most ppl will vouch. sorry your a accusatory dumbfuck.
thank you Christany ;] <3 and thanks all other ladies![]()
Goldi, wow, you got twins in there or what??? LOL, girl, you look like nine months! Anyways, you look beautiful, and I'm happy for you and wish you the best of luck! Can't wait to see all your baby pics!

back!
who says i live in the suburbs or am/was middle class??? you want the truth? okay here it comes: I WAS FUCKIN HOMELESS NOT TOO MANY YRS AGO. no place to live, nothin. i was working any hrs i could get at my job, getting 2-3hrs/day sleep on the freakin subway train as soon as it opened at 6am, and STILL had too much pride to try for welfare, which i likely woulda never gotten (atleast not for a loooooong time) becuz i lacked a child then. oh wait -- this was THREE separate times i was homeless, working jobs thru all of these bouts of homelessness. finally, my hard work paid off and i got a "palace" of a place -- a one-room efficiency in the most crime-ridden ghetto in my city, which was the #1 Murder Capital that decade. in the end, do u think my yrs of abject poverty and hoemlessness made me become more liberal?...HELLS NO, I BECAME MORE CAPITALIST AND ANTI-WELFARE THAN EVER!!!! my poverty experiences are WHY im a hellbent anti-liberal. ditto for kelly, who's been unemployed since 2007 but u dont see her applying for welfare do you! i felt that if i could make it out without welfare, then most other people can too. and even now that i have a decent "middle class" job, i STILL live in the city--a safer neighborhood than the ghettohood id lived in before, but still in the city. i have a nice new car but i STILL take mass transit to work each day to save gas money and help the environment.
DUDE. u talk like u think i dont know anything bout childcare. i'm older than you, i was pregnant before you ever were, i've been a mother longer than you...I KNOW COSTS. yea money is ALWAYS tight when u have kids...they say u can never have too much money for raising kids. u say its scary to be pregnant and not have health insurance, but u admitted in the other thread that all it'd take is getting married and then you'd be added to your bf/husband/whatever-he-is health ins. which rules out the need for medicaid. or u could look at cheaper, alternative birthing methods, such as using a birthing clinic instead of a hospital..they're cheaper than 1500-2000/mo. also, if money is such a concern, keep up the cake decorating side biz and try to get another cake making job if u can.
people DO NOT NEED a 1600sq ft loft. that is a luxury. heck most rowhomes in my city are only about 950-1100sq ft, not much bigger than where ur living now. it's not that bad. but i must say im glad u made the downgrade to save money for the baby...thats an actual good thing. a friend of mine lived in a 780sq ft 1bd apartment with her two toddler aged kids and her sister (who slept on the couch)...now THATS a tight squeeze. babies dont take up that much space, so save money in the small place now, and later on when the kid is a lil older and you're back to stripping and making more money again, you guys can move to a bigger place.
one other thing: my older stepbro is a raging liberal/progressive/socialist but even HE despises strippers going on welfare. and he hangs out at stripclub occasionally too, had been friends wiht a few strippers and stripclub bartenders. he's made the joke, "all strippers on welfare despite good earnings should give each customer a free lapdance so we feel like we're getting something for the extra tax money we're paying towards them." Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

Welcome back Kthnx. Like you mentioned I've been unemployed and nope, not taking advantage of the system. I rarely mention this here, but I am currently living on savings, including what was saved for my retirement. It's about to be completely drained and then I am screwed. Illinois is a big welfare fraud state but only if you have kids. Because I am not a mother I can only get about $25 a month in foodstamps, which isn't worth going through the bother for.
Like you I was also homeless for a brief time. I scrounged through the garbage and was really poor. It stinks, yet not once did I think of frauding the system. During this time I had a friend who did and I reported her.
Also, I've mentioned this before but I really want to have a baby before my biological clock runs out. I am about to turn 40 so I only have a few years to do this. Oh sure I could find some random guy, then get knocked up for welfare, but I refuse to do that. Instead I will wait until I find a job, and meet a great guy (or the guy I want comes around). I believe a baby deserves two parents who are married and can support the child. Even if it means me and my husband and our baby have to live in a tiny apartment for a few years I am fine with this.
Trust me if more people say the freeloading upfront like I have they'd hate it too. I think it's disgusting when people abuse the system. I've known women who had babies for welfare.

OK I just woke up, this weekend at the club was brutal, and I forget what started the controversy. Let's try to keep it civil and congratulatory. I'm sure she's had the baby by now, right? Hopefully all is well and she's taking care of it on her own by now.

After I posted I realized this was an older thread. I am feeling especially anti welfare lately because once again got rejected from a college program because of this. My grudge isn't with the op at all, but rather anyone who abuses the system. Illinois is a welfare queen state.
This reminded me of a thread that you posted last year sometime. I had to look it up.
You are angry at the system because they rejected you. I got rejected by the system as a single mother last year. I know the feeling.
Since you are unemployed and think that you would only get twenty-five dollars here is a link for you. It isn't taking advantage of the system, it is using the system. That is what it is there for.

If you have zero income, you are eligible for $200 in food stamps.
Congrats on the baby Goldi!

Unfortunately, I've checked into foodstamps and they said I could only get $25 a month because of my savings. I'm trying to pay my bills on my savings and it's hard. Yes, my parents were giving me money but that was before I started dipping into my 401k. Since that thread, I've done a few freelance jobs, which helps, but not as much as I had hoped.
How could you get rejected as a single mother? In Illinois they rarely reject unless the mother is married (I actually think that is discrimination when they do that).
Ok, sorry for jumping on it. Good for you for saving.
It is a long story and really horrible. I get pissed off at people taking advantage of the system, too. I needed it and I couldn't get it. Some people live better on welfare than we do.

See, that's wrong because welfare is intended for those who need it. The problem is that at least in Illinois it's messed up. I've known struggling women with kids denied while some freeloader breeder kept making babies. That's why I have issues with welfare. I don't have problems with people who need help getting it. I've applied for various programs, including job training but get rejected due to me already having a degree.
Like I said before my comments really weren't directed at the op, but welfare leeches in general (which may or may not include the op).

DUDE kellydancer doesn't WANT social aid even if she could get a little bit of it. she has PRIDE and wants the feeling of being able to do somehting for HERSELF.
also -- anyone who thinks they're "deprived" becuz they have to move outta a HUGE 1600 sq ft LOFT in expensive-ass SAN FRAN is a spoiled brat. (most likely spoiled by the bf and/or stripclub money) i'm in the process of moving/buying a property and all of the 3bd 2-3 story homes im lookin at ring in at about 1200-1400 sq ft and they feel pretty darn spacious to me. and this is in a city where house prices are downright reasonable, not overinflated like san fran. i can aptly afford a house priced up to the low 200s but im purposely buying a property thats 140k or less becuz im conservative with money and not willing to overextend myself and then ask for handouts. downgrading is the LEAST she could do.
