Default Feet/tendon/ankle problems from our shoes!

So, I've only been a strippeh for about 4 months, and work as much as I can (can't change that, need the $) and been starting to feel in the balls of my feet from the shoes intense pain. I danced ballet/modern since I was 5, so I had some ankle problems before I started stripping, and know of course this is adding to it, but what are some things you ladies do to help/prevent further damage? I have knee high boots that I wear sometimes that are easier on my feet, but arent as sexy, so dont make as much $, at least from what I've found. I just ordered new shoes, and will be switching those on and off with the ones I have now (which are general clear pleasers with ankle strap, 6in i think) not to mention I have scholiosis but stretching a lot has helped my back. My feet and ankles need help though! I can't stop dancing, and i've started camming to supplement income a bit, so any other advice appreciated!

You're already getting shoes with an ankle strap, which is good. Buy a cushion for the whole foot. I took me 3 tries until I found the cushion I liked. Remember its always easier after you break the shoe in. Do ankle rolls and message your feet daily, taking hot baths would also help. If it gets bad enough I suggest on getting boots that you like

I danced with huge bunions, so i had the same problem. Also i know what u mean about pain in the ball of your feet. I found a hot bath with the peppermint stuff they use at spas....and a massage of the foot, is sooooooooooooooooo nice. Especially if someone else does it.... Hope u feel better!

And i second the cushion idea. They make some especially for the balls of ur feet.

What/where do you get these cushions? I'm getting like a piercing pain in my right ball of my foot every once in a while when I walk on it. UGH. I'm only 22 I've been doing the massages and every night I let the hot water run on my feet a few minutes in the shower. The new shoes that I got dont have ankle straps but they do have extra straps further up to hold your foot in (hard to explain , i know) but its not the typical slide ins. I definitely need to find cute ankle boots maybe too..I can't stop dancing though (for money reasons and well, i have come to love it) so needs to be a solution lol! boo.

I dont think shwoers do anything.. actually sit in the bath or on the legde and soak your feet for 10-15mins. You can find cushions anywhere, wal-mart, drug stores, even dollar stores

Cushions for just the front/ball of the foot? Or whole thing? I can see how that could make it worse though by pushing the toes against the top of the shoe more? ?

I never bought the whole cushion only for the front, or whatever part hurted which was the front. If your whole foot hurts then I suggest to get the whole cushion, if its just the front or the ball part then only buy the front part. You can always move it around in the shoe to see which way/postion is best for your foot.

Such as this, of 2 different ways of using it:

What kind of ankle problems are you having? I developed major ankle tendon problems from ballet that required surgery-if you have a problem like that then it's better to get the surgery now than try to prolong it with ankle braces and whatnot.

^It's more that my ankles crack and such, not so much a problem that requires surgery, I know my feet are definitely screwed up though!

I wore knee-high lace-up black 6inch boots... with heel inserts, and sport socks.. so it was kind of cheating ;0)

Take notice where your center of gravity is when wearing your heels. If your toes push out over your heels, throw them out. Believe it or not, the higher the heel, the more comfy the shoe gets. I found if you massage by the side of your knee, downward towards ankle, it will help. Your calf is shrinking and it begins higher than your ankle when you are dancing stripperstyle. Pleasers do have really good support. If you are allowed to, take your shoes off during lap dances and vips. It will save your legs and ankles. Take advil when you get home, massage, and do not wear heels outside of work. Plus I found if I wear extremely flat shoes immediately after work, then drive, I get super pain from the change in heel height. Try running shoes after work. Hope this helps I suffer from this always. Stretch before and after work too...

Thank you! I always wear sneakers to work so it does hurt after the change in height..unfortunately we cant really take off our shoes, would take up too much time with the ankle strap anyway (which feels like it has better support)..I think I'm going to try ice at night too maybe. I also go for massages every 3 weeks but of course doesnt help my feet much after that haha.
