    Default Conservative dancers

Ironically, I was thinking of creating a thread like this, but the other thread about using the system kind of spurred me more. I am somewhat conservative and have gotten more so as I've gotten older. While I'm not a conservative Republican (in fact I've always considered myself more of a conservative Democrat until recently) I have some very strong conservative views.

My big pet peeve are anyone who abuses the system. I've seen countless people do this, dancers and nondancers alike. I've turned in anyone who was abusing the system. The reason being we pay for the leeches and I don't want to pay for people who are just lazy. Not to say I don't support the system, I do, but just make it fair. As of now it's not fair because in many states only single parents get assistance while childless or married do. In Illinois children of illegals can get all these free programs (they can't ask for immigration status) while single childless people can't. I'd make it where it's only for people who truly need it, and just aren't lazy.

Then there are the more social conservative issues. One of the biggest problems I see are those who had children out of wedlock. Yes, I realize that in many cases it's not their fault (and certainly the guy who got them pregnant is just as much to blame). However in many cases I saw single women (not just dancers) have baby after baby from various men, sometimes to get welfare, sometimes just because they don't use birth control. I think in general this society has many problems because of illegitimate children. Call me old fashioned, but I think it's wrong to have kids unless you are married to the father. I love someone now but we aren't sleeping together because of this (and both of us are very picky who we sleep with). Related to this, I knew a dancer and alleged escort who had 5 abortions because birth control was "too much bother". While I do support abortion rights, I personally doubt I'd have one unless the baby was disabled, I was raped, or it affected my life. My guy actually says I am prolife, not prochoice because I told him that if I became pregnant by him I'd expect him to marry me (and he would).

When I've actually told people I have several strong conservative leanings, I've had people ask me how I could have been a stripper or have no issues with the adult industry. My personal view is I see no problems with most aspects of the industry. While I do disapprove of the extras prevalent now (and the reason I'll never work fulltime in a bar again) the tease itself was fun. Even though I don't approve of extras in clubs, I actually support legalizing prostitution because my opinion is as long as it doesn't affect me, I don't care.

This isn't aimed at anyone at particular, just something I was thinking about.

I think we share a lot of the same views... while I am not conservative in any way I do feel disgusted at the way some people abuse the system.

My boyfriend's grandmother told me I should get on food stamps. I told her I won't be out of work that long and I'd rather just be back at work than living off the system.

That's exactly how I feel. I am currently unemployed and while I could get food stamps (and would have no problem if I needed them) I wouldn't feel right taking from someone who needs it more than me. I've always been of the mindset that people should work if they can. While I realize now the economy is bad and some people truly need help (disabled and elderly) others just don't want to work. I think it's because I saw many who were lazy that it soured my views on the system.

I'm actually really looking forward to getting back to work... I couldn't see the appeal of sitting at home and rotting all day. Vegetating. Ugh. I like to be a workaholic if I can. All booked up with travel and modeling stuff and fill in the blanks with dancing!!

But seriously, how do these people do it, then turn around and sell drugs? Like isn't that more of a headache than actually working?

I am currently unemployed (though freelancing) and it's driving me nuts. I am so used to working many hours, including fulltime and parttime. At one time I danced and modeled 60+ hours and it felt good.

Oh I know, I love being busy. I actually function way better mentally and emotionally as well. I really don't know how people who are career moochers can do it without driving themselves crazy. I dunno, I don't like sitting at home.

I guess some people are just complacent?

I think (at least in the cases I know) they enjoy being home watching tv. Not me, it's driving me nuts and I can't wait to have a fulltime job again. I keep myself busy by working out but I'd rather be working.

I agree. Dancing for an audience is so much more fun than dancing in front of the tv haha.

    Hhahahah yeah.

I guess some people are just satisfied with the bare minimum... they don't really have the motivation to try harder.

And the welfare moms... having children is hard. Why would you want to have multiple children, put your body through all that, and neglect them for money? And obviously, if they are 'milking the system' then those kids don't see much of that money. Oh, this is reminding me of my mom's child support checks and her shopping addiction/hoarding problem. -__-

If I sound funny or I'm jumping around in the conversation, it's because I took my meds and I am now in loopy-land lol.

I believe through a series of questions asked, that most people are more conservative than what they think.
As i have found myself to be liberal on some issues also.

This is why I kinda find it hard to label myself as conservative or liberal. I believe in so many different things. In fact, I think I'd rather not label myself.

^^^^ Right what are the chances of us ever finding a candidate that held all of our ideas. I mean there are only a few of us perfect people out there and most of us just dont want to run for office....

I've never understood the idea with having multiple kids to milk the system. Yeah pregnancy is hard and so is childbirth so they do do it I don't get. I suppose that since so many of these women are on drugs they don't care. As it is the idea of getting pregnant is something that truly scared me until a few years ago. I guess that's why I don't get these women who do have many kids. There was this woman in the paper who had 9 kids by 8 different fathers. Now that is bad on many levels.

I don't really consider myself conservative or liberal, it was just something someone mentioned to me, calling me conservative. There are several issues where I am liberal (gay rights for example) and the religious right scares me as much as the extreme left.

It's interesting that in this country we have almost always two political parties -- one with a selected set of liberal views and one with a selected set of conservative views. Almost all of these views are opposing. And yet when we honestly examine our own views on any number of subjects, we find a mix of the two. In many countries there are multiple political parties, but still people choose ones that may or may not represent their own particular set of beliefs. Yet people still ally themselves with one of the parties (or with none), rather than espousing their own mix. Perhaps it's just that the joining impulse is stronger than the individual one.

Yet in western religions it is a bit different where there are many abstract interpretations of the same vague and unprovable legends. That has led to likely over 200 variations of the same basic dogmas. And yet people still talk themselves into going to one church with particular dogma or the other, submitting themselves to beliefs they may or may not have had previously.

Just presenting my views of something that I think is pretty durned odd.

I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

I have been told that and to some extent I think I am more llibertarian than anything else. I could never be Republican because I don't trust the religious right.

Unfortunately I've seen far too many examples of the whole "baby daddy"/"baby mama" situation so it has impacted my views. While I have no problem with single people adopting children/babies, and even single women having babies they can afford, the reality is these aren't the majority of the cases I've seen. The majority have been of people who had multiple kids with various people.

^Again, for the sake of benefits? I get why that's a rip, and I hate that too. But otherwise, unless it's a benefits scam, I personally don't see why half-siblings are the end of the world.

I think because I've seen so many people just have baby after baby, it's been something that bothers me. I've met so many men who have children by various women and to me it kind of cheapens the idea of having kids with the one you love. I understand in the real world there are always situations that are unpreventable, but when I've met some many like this, it bugs me.

I don't like seeing this change either. However, it is arguably the case that the government encourages it ... by increasing social welfare benefits with each additional baby, and by removing social welfare benefit eligibility if the parents actually get married !

I've always been of the mindset that people should work if they can. While I realize now the economy is bad and some people truly need help (disabled and elderly) others just don't want to work.
Or even worse ... dancers who are earning $50k+ in untaxed, unreported cash dancing income while at the same time collecting social welfare benefits like medicaid / food stamps / subsidized housing / subsidized utilities for themselves and their children.

Exactly. Way to go government! This is their version of 'enabling' behavior.

Yes the government does encourage out of wedlock babies by making it impossible for married people with kids to get help. That part pisses me off to no end because many lawmakers have introduced bills limiting welfare but they never get passed.
