    Default WTF message from epassporte?

    Dear Account Holder,

You are receiving this notice as a courtesy regarding your ePassporte account.

ePassporte closely monitors your account to ensure that your funds are protected from fraudulent use. The cumulative amount of funds in your account is approaching US$5,000.00 . As a security measure and for your protection, when your ePassporte account balance reaches US$5,000.00 , your account will have limited functionality until we receive the following documents:

    1) A photocopy of a government-issued photo ID
    2) A photocopy of a voided check
    3) A photocopy of the statement of the bank account used to load the ePassporte Account, which clearly displays your address. You may use a photocopy of a utility bill (i.e. electric, cable, phone) if a credit or debit card statement is not available

We prefer that you scan and email these documents to us at [email protected], as this method works best. Attn: Account Verification.

**Please be sure to also include your name and ePassporte User ID for reference.**

Please keep in mind that facsimiles are not always clear and we may request that you re-fax your verification documents if any of these documents are illegible.

    Thank you,
    ePassporte Account Holder Services

Are they serious? OMG. I have a photo id and utility bill of course but they REALLY NEED ALL THAT?

EEEK! WTF - withdraw withdraw withdraw! Looks like if you take your money out now and keep taking it out so that it never gets to 5,000 then it will be ok. WTF though - it's YOUR money - jeez. I suppose it's about money laundering but seriously - it's not like you're putting 5,000 in there in one transaction every day or something! Thanks for posting this - lesson to everyone to take out the money before epassporte screws with it.

I paid rent and transferred to my bank account. I'm hoping the transfer goes through however, I'll send them the info but i think it's ridiculous!

LOL.. NO I'm not easy to fool. I called them and they said the same thing. I saw the email when I signed into my account. It came directly from @epassporte.com

This is probably some type of anti money laundering step that they're required to take. I wouldn't be too alarmed by it. Pain in the ass though.

^^^ I agree, they are probably just trying to protect themselves from having the government think that they are aiding people laundering money. Just withdraw the funds and put it into your bank account... it's probably safer there anyhow.

I know the feeling - I only put limited amounts through my bank. I have a normal job (freelance) which I use for bank stuff and camming $ I use as cash. I have a safe in the house too. Loading other prepaid cards is good too - but it's sooo much hassle!

Yes I bank with suntrust and I'm super careful about what I put in the bank being an escort/camgirl. The money I make from escorting ...its very hidden but not in a safe which is very silly of me. I'm going to buy one today since epassporte is now on my ass. I also have a greendot card, rushcard and walmart card that i use for business dealings. Hassle is correct.

Make sure you get the type that is fire proof!

Also, with that much available in cash you might want to look into buying gold. That way the value will go up over time & it's pretty easy to sell. If you have $50 it's just $50. It you buy $50 in gold though and save it for awhile the value will go up and you could end up with a lot more - even though it's been just sitting in the safe at home.

Or, another option (& better) is not to hide the money. Put it into the bank, pay taxes on it, and list yourself as a freelancer on your taxes.
