    Default Home workouts

I always end up giving up on working out when I dont see results but I decided I need to really try and be patient I was just wondering what excercises peope do at home and how many sets/reps? How many days a week and how long have you been working out for/how long before you saw results?

I really like ENVY GIRLS workouts at the moment on Hulu.
    http://www.hulu.com/envy-girls

I also really like the full length workouts from exercisetv.com and the ones from there that are on hulu. The bikini body ones are good.

I have defined arms and abs, but I am also a distance runner (40+ miles per week). I also swim. I make sure I am using the heaviest weight I can take at any given time. For example, even if in the video they are just using the same set of weights the whole time, I make sure I have a selection in front of me so I can always push it to the max. I love to incorporate furniture for dips and so forth. I also have a policy with myself that I have to do at least 20 really quality push ups everyday.
Do you have a jump rope? One of the best go anywhere workouts. Just be sure not to jump rope on concrete. Asphalt has way more give and is easier on your knees.

What kind of results are you looking for? Weight loss? Muscle definition? Cardiovascular improvements?

I get bored so easily so have lots of different work out to mix it up.

1)Ill do Duncan Wongs Yogic Arts DVD (usualy when I have some anger to burn off)

2)I sometimes just focus on an hour of different crunches, leg lifs, planks, side planks, push-ups and tricep dips, followed by splits stretching (always done in front of the TV)

3)Sometimes Ill put on my yoga music, light some Nag Champre and do an hour of either slow Hatha or Power/Vinyasa yoga, depending on my mood.

    4) Ill do an hour on the pole before class, either dance it up or work hard for new tricks.

Number 1 and 3 is for my mood/sense of self, number 4 is a necessity, only number 3 I find lately it making a nice difference to my body. My torso in particular.

I want to gain some muscle expecially my legs/bum if possible so I am going to use heavy weights for this but wasnt sure whats best excercises and how long etc and tone my stomach abit and does doing push ups everyday help because I thought your muscles need rest time and thats when they develop?

OK. I would still check out the videos on hulu for the legs/butt/abs.
20 pushups is just not much for me and I am not breaking down any muscle with this that needs to rebuild. Pushup are amazing exercises, but that is for another thread. Lunges and squats done correctly are your friend. Do them without weight first and really make sure you have good form. I recommend the online videos because they are free and feel like I have my own trainer:-)

Just remember that u have usually to gain that toned look you really have to reduce overall body fat.

Yep, keeps my tummy tight, my waist in and prevents a pot belly. If I dont do them , its like my tummy goes `aaaaah` and relaxes and starts sticking out again

I gotta constantly work to keep my stomach up and in, flat and toned, as I have lazy lower abs cos of bad posture.

True, leg raises are better than crunches for chiselled abs.
