One of my really good friends just got her boobs AND this done at the same time, and she says it hurts worse than her boobs! I think though if it makes you self conscious, it would definitely be worth it! Also, she had a problem during sex, her lips would get sucked up there and the friction was very painful for her.
Ugh me too! I've thought about this for years myself. I have protruding labia minora that's darker in color--what people "lovingly" refer to as "meat curtains". I get really self-conscious about it when I go on stage or when a guy goes down on me. I don't mind having SOME...but I'd love to get it trimmed back a bit.

And I thought I was the only one!

I understand having this done in situations where it causes trouble, otherwise I feel it shouldn't be done. I think it's yet another issue where women are judging themselves by magazines.
I don't know i don't think this is something i've ever been that bothered about, wouldn't say my own was particularly pretty or ugly really, i mean people should only get surgery for themselves right? Well how often do you actually see your own labia? Unless you sit worrying about it in front of a mirror? It doesn't seem worth getting fixed and as for guys opinions? Guys couldn't care less, i used to get a bit hung up about receiving oral cos my skin is very sensitive round there and can be a bit sore and i was always worried a guy would comment, never happens and mines probably a more visible issue than yours.

I had it done. Mine weren't extreme, but it still bothered me a lot. The surgery was super painful, I was crying hysterically right after and for a couple more hours. But after that, the healing process was super fast. I don't remember what it looked like before but I know I am extremely happy now. I was super self conscious about it and I know that a lot of guys don't like it either.
I wouldn't do it. What if something goes wrong? Yeah, think about it.

I want to get this done eventually! For those who have had this done, who did you go to?

I've had it done in Europe by my actual gynacologist (sp?) and my insurance paid for it. That's part of why I had it done but it would've been only around 800 ayways

Some men really love large labia. My cam customers seem to adore mine.
I wouldn't consider it unless you find it uncomfortable.
Any surgery can go wrong and that's a really sensitive area.
My inner labias were uneven (the right side was bigger than the left) so I had labiaplasty in 2007. The surgery was quick as was the recovery time. I had the bandages on for only a few days and was pretty much back to normal. After about two weeks (depending on how fast you heal) you can have sex again and it shouldn't be noticeable that you've had anything done
Edited to add, I am sooo glad I got it done! I would get self conscious about it and sometimes the right side would chaff and hurt. My regular doctor referred me to a gynecologist and I had it done locally.

Not every girl in a magazine or porn with 'perfect' vag has had surgery. Just because someone has a 'perfect' body part does not mean it has been surgically altered.

^ Amen.
I'm pretty perfect down there and haven't had any work done and wouldn't get it any done unless there was some pain during sex or so. Damn glad to not have that problem.
I've thought a lot about this too. I think that if you are very uncomfortable about it, do your research, find a doctor you trust, and go for it. I have more of an issue with my lips "getting in the way" when I exercise...lol... I'm an avid cyclist and probably can't ride for as long as I would like.
Anywho, I think surgery is a great thing, but dealing with something as delicate as your vag can be tricky. My main concern would be that something would go wrong and I would lose feeling down there... :-(
Best of luck!
UK documentary on labiaplasty, worth a look for anyone considering going under the knife

i am learning to get over my insecurities regarding my uneven labia, long labia and just overall not so attractive privates...i love sex and do not want to risk losing sensation down there. imagine getting infected after surgery..

Thanks for the link. Watching right now.

Really? I see tons of girls in nudie magz with very long and large labias.
I don't think there is anything wrong with getting this procedure done. Girls get a breast reduction because they don't like the look of their XL breasts and because of the discomfort that they cause, why not have your labia reduced if you don't like the XL look of it and it causes you discomfort?

That was a good documentary. There seems to be a relative understanding that, in general, surgery isn't needed, but in some of the extreme cases shown, it's more then understandable why they did it.

exactly! Just because it's not as common as a boob job it doesn't mean it's any different. And this procedure helps with the pain that women with large labia have, too. That's why my insurance covered it too. I think if somebody doesn't like them and wants to change them that's great. Even better if there's no problem in the first place of course..
Mine used to look quite a bit like the 21 year old, Rosie. Often my lips pinched and twisted while walking, or dried up during sex - I'm disappointed the documentary didn't talk how some labias can be quite painful. I really think most women with regular labias don't understand how physically/mentally painful it can be to have longer/bigger/whatever labias. The documentary also seems to emphasis on the pain Rosie felt during her surgery, but from my own experience I was put out during the surgery, and only did some spot bleeding with minimal pain for 2 days max. I also had dissolving stitches so I didn't have to deal with having them cut out. Plus, my surgery was covered by medical because of the pain my inner labias were causing me.
PS I can also relate the part where Rosie's surgeon says he had a patient who had a gyno laugh at her vag![]()
PSS If you're not getting skin cut near the clit, I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about loosing any sensation. And another personal experience: getting breast implants hurt for weeks and took MUCH longer to heal than my labia surgery.

my pussy is kind of like a slit... a little envelope that you can't see the lips in at all unless the majora are spread. Until I started stripping I thought she was the hottest thing in the world. Now I kind of wish that more showed![]()
