    Question Stripper Time

So Kylea and I were discussing today how we run on stripper time. and my experience with other strippers is they also run late. The lovely world of exotic dance does not seem to attract many on time ladies.

So how late do you usually run? I want to see if the stereotype is true... do we have stripper time? And what is stripper time?

Personally, i usually run about a half hour late. but sometimes i run a lot later than that. If you want me to be somewhere on time i would suggest lying to me and telling me to be there a half hour earlier... if you say meet me at 2:00, that really means 2:30 in stripper time. and if its really important, i would suggest lying to me and telling me to arrive an hour earlier.

ETA: im talking more about in real life... i know a lot of us can get to work on time when money depends on it. just like we can pretend to like old fat guys when money depends on it .

The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

I am always freakishly early. I'd still rather be an hour early than 5 minutes late.

I've always had an actual phobia about being late. When I'm leaving for an appt or to meet someone I'll get really sick to my stomach and anxious about being on time. I'm also plagued with recurring nightmares about being late from time to time. LOL!

If I'm going somewhere and it seems like I am going to be late, my nerves begin to frazzle. I'd rather be early and be forced to sit in my car than be a few minutes late.

If I'm working at a club where I can breeze in anytime I feel like, I don't get wound up about that, although I usually get in earlier than most since I like to warm up and get my head in the game.

If it's one of those clubs where the tipout goes up every hour I get in early just for the simple fact I hate giving any club more than I have to. I'll even where a bikini under my clothes to beat the clock.

I'm always about 20 minutes early. I was once late to a job interview before I started dancing and it cost me the position (which I'm glad I missed since I may not have started dancing otherwise). After that I've always been early or on time. Something doesn't feel right showing up late when there is a designated time. I feel too responsible for that.

Actually, I'm not so bad these days. I'm never late for work or appointments... typically it's social events with no definite start time & I seem to always run 5-10 minutes late, any more than that would only be from bad traffic. Inevitably what happens is that I'm such a spaz that I have to run back inside the house at least twice to get things I forgot... like my cell phone. Work & appointments I leave the house 30min + of what I actually need to, but it took me years to get like that. In high school I was ALWAYS late to the 1st class (not a morning person) - once I started working though I felt like I actually had to be on time... probably because I wanted the money.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

lol my mom used to do that to me and it always made me sooo mad.. I do the same to some of my friends now and it works out perfectly for everyone. Me personally, it depends on how important it is to be on time. I know, bad attitude..

I am never late to anything. I was always the dancer who was on the floor long before I was supposed to. The worst late people I know are my brother and sister in law who are late to everything, including their wedding. I've been a stripper and they would never consider it, so I think in many cases it's just coincidence.

I'm docked $25 if I'm more than 2 minutes late, so I actually show up about 5 minutes early.

    Stripper time is an oxymoron.

If a club didn't care when I arrived I would be using stripper time.

If a club cares what time I arrive I'll always be on time.

Other than that I don't own an alarm clock. I wake up when I don't want to sleep any more.

I'm never late for dates or meeting people.

Just don't bother me in the morning and don't try and tell me what time I need to be in bed.

I've been this way since I was a kid. Don't think it will change any time soon.

I used to always be late, but over the last year I have started to be on time. It was really just poor planning on my part. An ex boyfriend of mine explained how it made him feel disrespected and I felt bad, so I put in the effort to get better. Now I'm just always on time and it feels natural.

Except for going to work, but they don't care, and sometimes the thought of going to work somehow magically makes getting ready take longer.

I'm always late. a half hour to hour is average for me.
its so funny because a friend of mine use to lie to me all the time about when she wanted me to be ready. She always told me an hour earlier then what she really wanted.
It worked and took me awhile to catch on.

The only thing I'm not on time for is work. Unless a club is simply amazing, I can't be bothered with schedules or fees for showing up late..after all one of the reasons I got in this biz is to set my own schedule!

In LA, it is very difficult to be on time with how bad traffic is. I WILL call, though, when I become aware that the designated time won't work out. It can take an hour to go 6 miles, literally, when traffic flares up. And it has sometimes taken two hours to go 18 miles...dead serious!

Luckily, it works out because it happens with people visiting me or meeting me in walking distance to my place. They will generally call and update as well. I have left my home with plenty of 'cushion' and found myself stuck in traffic and barely making it to an appt or meeting on time.

Conversely, the horror of traffic makes me less inclined to accept invites to 'hang out' if it involves leaving the westside of town because I'd only disappoint people by being late or showing up pissed off!

it's not that i'm late. it's just that i have a very poor grasp on the notion of time, as well as a totally fucked up body clock. if i wake up at noon in the summer, i can basically get so wrapped up in something that i'm sitting in the dark and have no idea where the time went. i constantly have to remind myself what day and date it is. i'm immune to alarm clocks.

i can show up on time for things if i have to, but it basically has to be my main focus, and it usually means forcing myself to stay awake when i'm exhausted. and the reward must be worth the massive effort it requires. and it has to be for something important and not a just a routine. like with stripping, i don't care about getting naked or being touched (no pussy! and please don't lick me), but the time it takes to get ready, and to be in the club and stuck there til the end of a shift and deal with people who might be assholes, and the focus all this requires...the money better be good.

i don't even understand people who work minimum wage day in and day out. or even most office jobs. i'd rather fucking panhandle and sleep on sheets of cardboard downtown. my childhood dream was to move to europe and be a squatter. i'm a feral animal. it's not that i don't want to be civilized, it's just not possible. does not compute.

if it weren't for this business, i don't know what i'd do.
