Default HOLY HELL!!!! Guess my diet worked!

So I've been on a very minimalist diet lately...ok, we'll call it a crash diet, of primarily tuna, hardboiled eggs, spinach, and brown rice (every other day).

I usually don't weigh myself or do any measurements until at least two weeks in so I don't get discouraged.

Well I weighed and measured myself a few minutes ago, my mind is blown.

I'm 92 lbs. My bust and hip measurements have not changed (they're 32" and 31", respectively) but my waist has!!!!

    21 INCHES!!!! HELL YES!!!

IDK how I'm gonna find a corset in my size though, and my 00's are falling off me.

    Oh my.

92 pounds!!! Honestly it sounds like you are getting dangerously thin.

My 12 year old child weighs more than you do. How tall are you?

Careful with the hard boiled eggs your cholesterol will go up considerably. I suggest eating egg whites.

Tuna is great for you (extremely high in lean protein and Omegas)

    Brown rice is great

Maybe throw in some steamed broccoli...

Otherwise great job you look great!

I'm only 5'1 1/2, and my bone structure is very small, it works for me. I make the majority of my money camming, and I tend to look heavier on camera than I actually am, so being a tad underweight IRL makes me look normal on cam, which is essential to my earnings.

I eated all my broccoli already lol. Went through an entire 2 pound bag of the frozen stuff, so now I'm going through all the spinach. I'm extremely anemic so I think all the iron in the spinach is what makes me crave it all the time.

I'm not too worried about my cholesterol, I had a physical a few months ago and the doctor said my blood pressure, good cholesterol, and bad cholesterol were all "shockingly low". Then he checked the blood pressure again to make sure the nurse hadn't made a mistake.

Whoa sorry but 92 lbs sounds way too thin, even for your height!

I have a similar shape to yours. I am 5'1, 27-21-29. Now I am exactly 104 lbs and I couldnt look better. I remember when I was low as 88 to 95 and it still looked bad on me people thought I was sick or throwing up my food. I have no idea why you're on a diet.

Mainly because I've quit smoking and I always gain between 10 and 15 pounds when I quit. I had to ditch all the junk food with a quickness, I don't want to blow up.

That, and I really enjoy being the smallest person in the room everywhere I go.

At least what you are eating is healthy food with plenty of protein and good roughage and vitamins.

I missed the fact that you are only around 5 feet, and I do know bone structure makes a huge difference in weight, but still, 92 pounds sounds really thin. I'm relieved to hear you have gotten a physician checkup though so you do seem to be taking care of yourself well.

Yeah, I've been on a health kick for the last month or so, I became concerned when I couldn't even walk up a flight of stairs at 25 yrs old without getting winded. No bueno, I had to fix that.

Oh dude I wolfed down a cheeseburger on Sunday on my date! I get one ridiculously unhealthy fattening thing per week. Next Sunday I'm thinking funnel cake.

Maybe you couldn't walk up the stairs because you aren't eating enough?

And your willpower is unbelievable-wish I could have willpower like that.

Nah, the smoking and not working out. I HATE HATE HATE cardio with a fiery passion, but I'm forcing myself to do it.

And I eat plenty, I get adequate calories but the name of the game here is the quality of the calories I'm taking in and what they are comprised of. I eat 1200 calories a day, but 1200 calories of unprocessed protein and veggies isn't going to affect my body the same way 1200 calories of cheetoes and m&ms will.

Remember, just b/c you're thin doesn't mean you're healthy. The first thing your body eats up for energy when you're malnourished is muscle, not fat. So there's a good possibility that you're unhealthier now because 1) you're putting your body in starvation mode, which actually slows your metabolism and 2) your body is eating your muscle.

Also remember that your body needs a certain number of calories every day just to function, much less if you're up and moving around. And protein is DEFINITELY not the #1 thing your body needs to survive (your body actually needs very little protein, and you can harm your kidneys by consuming too much).

Sorry to sound like a huge PSA, but your post worried me. There are much, much healthier ways to lose weight and still eat good food.

This is my dieting philosophy also! Well, except I'm a veggie so it's mainly raw veggies and fruits with high-quality complimentary veggie proteins. I wouldn't even bother arguing with the average sized peeps. I've tried but they just can't get it through their heads that being tiny means we need a lot less calories than they do. I mean if we were those short stubby girls who are basically proportioned like a tall person with their legs chopped off, maybe we'd need that many calories, but when you are basically child-sized all over, well different situation, as you know.

^ Agreed, but it's important to eat a balanced diet. And the OP is eating basically just a lot of protein and fiber...it doesn't contain the nutrients needed to live healthily.

But what else is there really? I get plenty of iron, I take a multi-vitamin, and I put olive oil in my tuna and spinach so I'm getting healthy fats...

I bought some yogurt, cottage cheese, and lentils today so I'm gonna throw that into the mix as well.

Yeah, I'd vary up the veggies a bit. But then if it works for her, I don't see an issue with a short term diet that may not be well balanced. Hell, 90% of Americans eat mainly over-processed garbage and seem to survive all right. So it would seem to me like as long as she started eating a more well balanced diet after getting the results that she wanted that everything should be okay.

Yeah, I'm actually moving on Saturday so I don't really want to have my pantry filled up it'll just be more stuff to pack. When I move into my new place I'll stock up on more veggies and buy some salmon and chicken breasts.

It's interesting, one of the sources of longevity seems to be long-term (minor) caloric restriction. Here's one source that talks about it (a long but well-made documentary):

    http://www.ineedmotivation.com/blog/...e-100-healthy/

The key is to restrict on a small level + eat calories that are healthy for you. (i.e. eating a small bag of M&M's every day doesn't count).

ETA: this is not to say that anorexia is healthy, of course. Minor restriction only.
