I'm still waiting for your solid proof here that it is so "unpopular" and not "widely practiced" all over the world.

China too has pole dancing. You make absolutely no sense.

You have yet to give me proof that Pole Dancing is not popular world wide. I am well aware of the meaning. You, obviously, are not. There are more than a few competitions. There are thousands of them. There is even (oh wait for it!!) A WORLD POLE DANCE COMPETITION. OMG!!! It really fucking exists!!! Fact is that it is in more countries than it is not. So therefore it still has a running chance of being put in the Olympics. Are you not aware that not every fucking country has to take place in every event? Because they don't have to.

Oh and to further prove its "wide practice" just for you Irena (since you really need to educate yourself) there is even a federation for it.

Alright, I have never done this on Stripperweb, because a) I like to keep it chill, and b) I don't like to feed the trolls but this just pissed me off.

    So here goes...

Irena...shut the hell up. The amount of training, stamina and focus that goes into pole dancing rivals that of any other form of gymnastics in the Summer Olympics. Horizontal double bars or vertical single bar. When you are talking about the caliber of pole work that wins you national competitions the time and effort behind training is UNBELIEVABLE for EITHER ONE.

As for all athletes starting young. One of the national snowboarding contendors for the US last year didn't start his training until he was 18 or 19. He was a diretionalless trouble maker in school and stubled across what he considered nothing more than a "hobby" with his best friend. Next thing you know he is winning national competitions and up for the Olympics.

Get of your high horse before it bucks you off.

Check out these links and tell me you doubt the amount of training that they put into their craft and that it doesn't deserve world wide recognition...

And of course there is Felix....

Just try to say that she does not deserve to be recognised world wide for her athletic ability...

I don't usually feed the trolls either.

And personally, I'm on the side that says Pole should NOT be in the olympics.
    Here's my Facebook group
and here's my blog on the subject

    However I don't agree with Irena's POV.
Pole dancing is MORE popular in the UK than in the USA. There are MORE pole dancing schools in the UK than in the whole of the USA.
We have FOUR National competitions. PoleDivas had over 100 competitors in 2009. not popular???
There are EIGHT pole dancing schools in my city of just 1/2 a million people.

I know my friend Blazer the pole contortionist does, and I can't say how many hours exactly, but I know that Pantera Blacksmith puts some serious hours in too. Totally inspiring ladies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyc1l...ayer_embedded#!

How can the narrow minded ever be expected to take pole dancing as a serious sport if nightclubs continue to mock it? Pole competitions are great. But when girls mainly have to shake their asses while on the pole in order to win the audience over instead of being appreciated for actual pole skills, its hard to imagine this artistic sport ever being taken seriously.

Blaze is totally adorable as a person and performer. She works in a bunch of clubs in Portland, my favorite is Mary's. Its right downtown and she tends to work there the most
