Default Guys who work in strip clubs

Do guys who work in strip clubs come off as more respectful towards women than the customers or other guys? I have a hunch that a guy who works 8 hours a day around naked women is probably less likely to engage in sexually harassing behaviour- i.e. Car honking, learing, obnoxious sexual comments, and etc..

It depends. In general I saw two kinds of male employees: guys who respected women more than the customer and those who thought the dancers were whores. This has been my experience, but the majority of the managers thought the girls were below them and that many were whores. Most of the dj's and bouncers I've worked with had the dancers' back.

I second that. There are definitely two extremes in the club. One is the super-respectful, bag carrying, door opening, helpful type and the other just tries to get in everyone's pants.

Sometimes I think I'm pussy about it, but when I see a girl being sexually harassed it really pisses me off. It's just not cool! It just isn't.

What I hear from dancers at the clubs I go to is that getting hassled for sex by guys working at the club is not a problem. Managers are very focused on the $$$, they don't want to lose good money-making dancers. Some guys that the dancers are supposed to tip may hassle them for more tips but not for sex. A lot of sex goes on between guys working at the club and a minority of the dancers, but the dancers aren't pressured into it. Some dancers say that the managers treat them like dirt. But others say that managers are only nasty to dancers that habitually don't show up for work.

This is really not an assumption you want to make. I know too many dancers who have left clubs because of harassment issues with owners, managers, DJ's and bouncers. On the other hand, I also know girls who have met SO's and Husbands while at work. Just as in the rest of life, you can't generalize about something like this.

Yoda, I adore you and you are a customer who "gets it". I have left clubs because of harassment. One manager said if I would sleep with him to leave. Another club believed a DJ causing trouble over me and a few other dancers. On the other hand I've seen people date others they met at work. I dated a DJ and a bouncer I worked with (different clubs). Right now I am hoping I marry a guy who was once a regular.

This has been my experience as well. The managers have been better here in the Keys than they were in Daytona, for the most part--not that they are all perfect angels or anything. DJs and bouncers also a bit better.

The guys working the clubs in Daytona tended to be either dirtbags trying to leech as much money and sex out of the girls as possible, or semi-geeks trying to play that game but failing. Perhaps most revolting of all were the semi-geeks who finally started scoring and then really thought they were serious players. And there were a few cool ones, too.

Sometimes it can be infuriating to see the rude customers treating the dancers like shit in various ways. While we don't tolerate it in my club, we now have to be extra careful throwing them out, as we have had trouble with guys fighting back and getting injured trying to sue the employees, club, etc.

I love the boys I work with. Love love love! I think they are all just like normal guys. Some gentleman, some sleezy. Most of them act like, "I dont even notice you girls cause I see it all the time"... ya right. I know they are mostly being polite. I reckon even the guys who have worked for years still notice a gorgeous girl or two from time to time.

Depends on the motive that drove them to get a job in a SC in the first place. As has been remarked, with some guys its just a job, and with others its an opportunity to try and chat up dancers.

I think a slight variation of the question is how helpful male workers in SC's are.

I've seen bouncers, etc, go out of their way to help out dancers, and I've seen bouncers look the other way when they see a dancer having trouble with a customer.

I tend to think that respectful/helpful go together.

    this.

i've met nice, respectful managers and total asshole bouncers (and some djs too), but it's mostly how kellydancer described.

while a logical person would assume that they're thinking first and foremost about running a profitable club, a lot are too busy powertripping and making awful decisions that lose the club money and customers for that to be the case.

in general, i think you can tell a lot about someone (customer or staff) by how they treat strippers, because we're such an easy target. if somebody is nice to strippers, he's probably a nice person. if someone is nice to you, but mean to strippers, well, don't get too comfortable. lol.

I totally agree with the nice to strippers thing. That should be part of a personality test lol.

I go out of my way to be nice to all the staff at my club too. There are many perks when security, reception, Djs, bartenders like you and dont see you as a bitchy stripper. A few staffers I consider great friends now too.
