    Default Working my butt off?

Hey, guys! I'm still a newbie here, so sorry if this was already discussed. I couldn't find it with a search.

So, I have this awfully flat ass, pancake-flat. And it's not because I'm too thin or anything, I'm PHAT (176 pounds kind of fat). I'm an apple shape, it seems all my fat goes to my belly and tights.
I'm starting an exercise program now, to lose weight and tone up a bit, and was wondering if exercising the glutes really pay off. I mean, of course I will do a full body workout, including glutes, but I'm wondering if giving some special attention to that area (with lunges, squats and such) will make my figure look a little bit more hourglass-y.
Anyone of you guys had this problem and was able to solve it just working out? How much time it takes to start seeing results? Or should I start saving for glute implants or pmma injections? Or if anyone actually had surgery, are you happy with it? I'm a bit afraid of pmma because it's permanent, what if I gain or lose weight, won't it look weird?

hi babes, hell yeah focusing on the butt will give you a more hourglass appearance... also your best bet is to loose weight, then you'll look proportional. The majority of guys like a thin, toned appearance so that would be a good financial decision. Running at the gym or outside will tone your butt and help you be thinner too, a mile or two 3 times a week should do it. then you can use the machines at the gym to tone your butt and stomach, but DO NOT USE very heavy weights on your stomach and arms! do alot of reps instead, or you will increase your width even more by building excess rather than lean muscle. you can go heavier for the butt but watch your knees, too much weight can hurt them. forget the injections they look awful my friend did it. horror!!

Subscribing I have a flat ass. I've found frog squats work well for me. But I'm also not really trying to lose, except a little in the midsection. It's not that it made my butt all the bigger, just firmer and rounder. I have the tiniest butt ever, but it's hard as a rock lol.

Working out with heavy weights will not make you bulky lol. I hate when I used to get mislead by unexperienced people. I am 5'4 and weigh 109 lbs. of solid lean muscle. I don't do cardio often because I burn more calories then I want at the moment. I get told all the time how petite I am and how skinny. They say eat a cheeseburger etc... The thing is I do. I eat not really healthy at all. Well not how I should be anyways. I have a personal trainer who fills me in on all the myths and gives great advice.

Women will only be huge if they take certain things that aid in bulking like for instance steroids. I lift heavy all the time and can honestly say I am very lean and defined. Had twins too.

If you take the time to google you can read about how having more lean muscle helps burn a lot of calories at your resting point as well.

I focus on my butt and for me, the bike, lunges and squats do wonders. Those are also easier for me than anything else (yay!). Just do a lot of those and you should see results. Oh,and another good one is when you work out your arms lying on a bench, use a ball instead and push your butt up (I hope I described it right, am really bad at that).
