    Default Basic Essentials

I am completely broke because my job pays me basically NOTHING! I will probably start dancing this week or next week. And I wanted to know what are the basics that I will need. I don't know how I'm going to afford shoes yet. And def don't know how I'm going to get an outfit or 2 and couple pair of g- strings. HELP!!!!!

I don't know what the dress code is for your club, but if you are allowed to wear two-pieces, I would go to Wal-Mart or Target and pick up a bikini of some sort and a tube top. You can wear the tube top as a skirt. Get your shoes online and not from a local store. They tend to mark up a lot. Go to ExoticHighHeels.com and they have shoes for as low as $32.40, and they ship pretty fast. Course you will need a garter or a small purse. You can find a small purse at Wal-Mart I'm sure. Garters are generally under $10 at any store that caters to dancers. G-strings aren't that pricey either. That should start you off okay until you get going. Good luck!

Personally, when I started dancing I didn't buy anything... I used what I already had until I was making money.

Look through your clothes and make a bag that has stuff like: thongs, sexy outfits that are easy to get off, shoes with a heel that is 3" or higher. Then put in items like cheap perfume, a lock if you have one, cheap makeup to touch up with. DON'T bring anything expensive to the club unless you have a locker w/ a lock or a bag w/ a lock that is super difficult to get into.

That yellow dress you have on in the second picture could totally be used for stripping. It looks like the sort of dress I would wear.

Yeah, wal mart, Ross, Burlington Coat factory are all great options. Buy a cheap but cute bra and panty set until you can get more $$$. buena Suerte!

For your first night ? ^ Just wear the yellow thing and a $3 thong from walmart or whatever is close. It's totally normal. Get clothes after you get money your first couple nights.

Like why did I think to go out and buy all these stripper gear when I first got started in the business... hmm.. I never even knew a dress was ok. I was a very clueless dancer at first.. lol

Wear the same things for a few nights in a row though until you make money? Really? Hmm.. I'd go out and get that same dress in a different color or something lol

I just had one stripper dress when I started. Another girl was nice enough to loan me another to alternate ( she is still one of my good work friends ) . I mean .... she shouldn't count on someone being that nice, but I think with the yellow dress + bra garter she says she has, she'll be good.
Totally up to you though! I just know that when I got started .... I stressed over every little thing instead of just going IN and making cash. It was a stupid move on my part because if I would have just gone to the club without wasting time stressing and procrastinating.... I'd have had the cash.

I've also thought wearing a dress was a little more classier than just the whole lingerie/bikini thing. It makes you stand out too..right? Can you tell I didn't dance for that long?

Hell I'd wear a dress half of the time and just strip down to whatever during the dance or while in the VIP.

Yeah, but it depends on your body type. Like for me, the second I cover up my midsection, I make much less money. And at my club, a dress would look ridiculous.

I agree. I'd about die before I was caught dancing in a stripper bikini... it's not my style. I like the super sexy cocktail or girl-next-door type of look. Heck, these days I'm getting to where I keep something covering my bottom, like a skirt, unless I'm working at a nude club.

Yea, but the club is a nude club. :/ LOL i love that dress but it sure isn't easy to take off in a hurry! But of course I can go get a thong and matching bra for like $15 max at walmart.

You don't want something that is just super easy to take off fast. Think SLOW. You want something you can play with & peel off.

As a stripper - you are never in a hurry to take your clothes off - it's about longing it out so they'll buy another one.

When i started the only thing i bought was a pair of shoes - they'll make you look and feel the part. My outfit was a red string vestthat just covered my butt i already owned with a red bikini top i already owned and a red g-string i already owned. I wore that for a week then bought a dress.

But as others have said - that dress oyu are wearing in your pic will be just fine. Remember - the object is to MAKE money. Do that first then you can look to spend some.
