Default Mine Are Bigger Then Yours...

My Aloe plants! I grew them from one small plant my mother gave me probably 20 years ago. They are named Hans and Franz from the old SnL skit 'cause they are so freakin' huge. This is the 'small' one Hans:

And this is Franz! Yes, that is a full sized dining room chair next to it for scale:

They are taking over my house!

Wow! I'm insanely jealous! I love my aloe plant, but with traveling as much as I do it probably doesn't have the care it needs to ever get that big and I've had it for probably 15+yrs.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I think I just fell in love from the Little Shop of Horrors reference! lol

Oh, I'm so jealous! I had a rubber tree named Mortimer and I managed to keep him alive for over two years....I left him in the care of my roomie who loved him and talked to him and petted him (the oil on our skin is supposedly good for rubber trees) the same way I did. Well, he only had to be watered like once a week, but she wanted to take "extra good" care of him. I came back in 6 weeks and he was yellow from root rot. I tried and tried but nothing worked. RIP Mortimer.

I actually do very little for those aloe plants. The trick is sun and not much water. People tend to over water their aloe plants. Root rot was probably caused by too much water is my guess.

I'm certain, she watered him like every single day! I told her remember to water him once a week when I left, but didn't think about telling her not to OVER water him. I thought everyone knew not to do that!
